Hey, everybody, it's Monday, April 6th, 2026, I'm Allison Gil, and I'm Dana Goldberg, and this is Beans Talk. All right, Dana, we have to talk. We have to talk about the same washing. You and I were talking about this and texting about this all morning on Sunday. Any insane washing. Everyone out there, you're not crazy. Read what you read. And this is like an action of like, let's commit war crimes. Yeah, they're like, oh, we'll show you some examples, but here's the post. We have to talk about the post. So let's put up the actual post that was saying washed on Easter Sunday. Here it is. Quote Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one in a run. There will be nothing like it. Open the fucking straight, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in hell. Just watch. Praise be to Allah, which I'm sure is a little racist bow on the end of that whole fucking thing.

But that's it, right? That's the post that we're talking about here. Yeah. And not, you know, not just this unhinged post that is upsetting us today. It's not just that. It's the same washing. It's the corporate media brushing it under the rug like it's every day. And I know he talks like this a lot every day. But we have to talk about how this stuff. First of all, Matt Nagrin, who hosts Hardball, by the way, on MS now, he pointed this out early this morning. He pointed out the New York Times coverage. New York Times headline is Trump escalates threat to hit Iranian power plants after U.S. rescues downed airmen. So that's even kind of like... Let me finish it before I comment. President Trump used an expletive laden social media post to taunt Iranian leaders saying that the United States would attack if they did not fully re-open the straight-up hormones. Right. Let's talk about that first bit where they sort of jammed the post that Trump made

in with him rescuing this second airman in one of the planes that was shot down. You know, without noting that we shouldn't have been there in the first place and this rescue wouldn't have been necessary if we didn't enter this completely idiotic. 100% of choice. But expletive laden taunting leaders. I mean, it's just bizarre. Also, the beginning of this whole plot of this whole thing was supposed to be to liberate the people of Iran. You're going to bomb the bridges. You've already threatened to take away their clean water. How are you liberating the people? You've killed the leaders just have their spawn come up who maybe even worse now being in charge of the cut. None of the whole plot was lost. But the same watching on this shit. When they posted this when you were just talking about Alison, they took out the part that said open the fucking straight, you crazy bastards and the part that said praise be to Allah. I'm sure they did because they were like, what? This is what they had. Look at this part. They took out those parts to make Trump look less fucking crazy.

But this is all they put up. Tuesday will be power plant day and bridge day all wrapped up in one in Iran. There will be nothing like it. That's what they actually said that Trump said, which is not the truth. Now, look at this one from the associated press. Trump repeats threat to strike Iran's infrastructure if straight of hormones isn't reopened. US President Donald Trump said on Sunday he would strike Iran's power plants and bridges this Tuesday. If the straight of hormones remains closed to marine traffic. In an expletive laden post, Trump promised they would be living in hell. If the waterway isn't opened, the living in hell is not the expletive laden part of this post. And they're also completely missing the point that Trump actually by making it Tuesday instead of Monday morning at 7 a.m. Because his original deadline was Monday morning at 7 a.m. Now he's pushing it to Tuesday. That's also something that they aren't mentioning.

Yeah. I think he did another one recently and all it says is Tuesday. 8 p.m. Eastern time. That's it. That's all that the truth, social post says. Now, obviously there's the Trump apologists. These guys make me fucking crazy. Here's David Singer on CNN calling the post unusually vivid. To the church, this was sort of an unusual way, I think, to start off the morning and unusually vivid even for the president's true social post. Here's the issue. Really? That's what let's just, we are rewatching the Holocaust too. What are we doing here, David? That's an unusually vivid post. It's very colorful. It's not unusually vivid. It's just one of the first times or one of the only times I should say that he put it in writing. Trump talks like this behind the scenes all the time. And meanwhile, you're freaked out if you know a female politician uses the says fuck in anything. It's just, it drives me crazy. No, I know.

The double standard is pretty astounding. You know, we could, the Democrats can't go, woohoo, but the president can say, open the fucking straight. You bastards. And it's totally fine. This one's from Politico. Trump again threatens to hit Iranian civil infrastructure. He warned in a profane and jarring post Tuesday will be power plant day. And bridge day all wrapped up into one in Iran. So they completely leave out that jarring. I'm glad you put jarring in there at least. But you left out the jarring part when you quoted it. Yeah. And the profane, the profane shit. The Washington Post says this is the quote from the Washington Post. Look, Trump threatens Iran with hell over straight of her moose in profane post. That makes me think hell is the most profane thing in that post. Right. Instead of fucking in bastards. And nobody's really even touching the praise be Allah a bit of it. Which is wild in this Christian, Christian country.

We live in Allah that no one has a problem with him saying praise be to Allah on this truth. I just, on Easter, on Easter. I don't think anyone can figure out like why? I mean, I just imagine he's just mocking. Yeah. Islam, right? Of course. But anyway. This is, this is the kind of shit that really bothers me about, about corporate media. But I will say this after all the backlash. And within a couple of hours, the New York Times fixed their bullshit reporting. Good. The one that you showed and they added the lines back in that they took out. They added the, you know, open the fucking straight crazy bastards into praise be Allah a bit. They added it back. But the great lady is faltering this past weekend. They put this headline in print, a North American treaty organization without America. First of all, NATO stands for North Atlantic treaty organization.

How many people let this go through in order to get a headline through? I imagine you have to put more than one pair of eyes on it. There has to be a editor that looks at that. But, you know, as our friend Charlotte climber was like, you know what? At the time, she was like, huh, North American treaty organization leaving out America. What a zinger and put it in there. And it was very proud of themselves. That's probably what happened here. And it's also, it shows a lot of like America centric like nationalistic. Oh, it's so gross. View that like everything's about America. They issued a print correction for that as well. And they posted about it on social media. So days, a couple days later, when everybody, after everybody had mocked them mercilessly. But this, you know, Dana, this is all a resort of massive corporate conglomerations. We got a judge who just blocked next star, Tegna takeover. We've got all of these corporate media conglomerations owned by like four or five billionaires, right?

Yeah. All of it under like one roof. But honestly, just so thankful to be part of the independent media sphere for so long now. Yeah. No, absolutely. That's what we have to worry about. All of these buyouts and these takeovers, you know, Ellis wants to purchase everything. It's, it's scary. Centering media, state run media is scary. It's scary when you have those videos in, you know, 17 different cities of these newscasters saying the exact same thing verbatim. Where you can line up the videos with each other. State run media is terrifying. And that's why you do have to support independent media like the daily beans, like beans talk. Like all of the podcasts that are on the main, you know, the MSW network. There's a reason why we have the support of so many people and so many listeners, as they know, they can trust our reporting and they're not just going to be hearing some bullshit propaganda out of this administration. Yeah. And as Timothy Snyder points out today on social media multiple times in the past and in his book on tyranny, that's one of the steps toward authoritarianism is taken over the media and controlling the media narrative.

100%. Thanks. It's just listening to whether it's our independent media podcast or whoever's independent media news that you listen to or follow. That in itself is an active opposition and resistance. So thank you so much for being here and we'll be back tomorrow. I'm Allison Gill. I'm Dana Goldberg and that was beans talk. Thank you.
