Bengals Eyeing Flacco Return, Asamoah, Sample for Depth

The Cincinnati Bengals recently lost special teams stand out.

Tycan Anderson sparking talk about whether they might bring back any other free agents.

With the most of their unsigned players already heading elsewhere,

like Cordell Voulson to the Titans and Jake Browning to the Buccaneers,

attention turns to a short list of realistic return candidates.

One name gaining traction is Linebacker Brian Asimoa,

a former third round pick from 2022.

He joined the Bengals practice squad last October,

contributed on special teams, but suffered a knee injury in week 13.

Losing Anderson makes Asimoa appealing for some continuity there.

Defensive end-camera in sample could also fit, especially if he's healthy after signing a one-year deal last March.

The team values young upside-by like Cedric Johnson,

but they know more past rushes never hurt,

particularly with draft help on the horizon.

Offensive Lyman Jackson Kirkland rounds out the smaller names worth watching,

but the real prize is quarterback Joe Flacco, the veteran backup who thrived here last season.

The Bengals signed Josh Johnson as a stopgap,

figuring Flacco might wait until summer for the right spot.

With few starting jobs left league-wide and stars like Jamar Chase and T Higgins in Cincinnati,

odds are good he returns to bolster the depth.
