Bigfoot Goes There - My Bigfoot Sighting Episode 227

About this episode

On May 20th, 2019, at 9:35 AM, tonight’s guest, Matt Lankford, was driving his 18-wheeler south on Highway 84, between Abilene and Coleman, Texas. At the time, he was about two-thirds of the way to Coleman when he looked ahead, to the right side of the highway, and saw what he initially thought was a black bull.

As he got closer to the “bull,” the figure moved a short distance. When it did, it moved in such a strange way that its body seemed to undulate. After seeing it move, Matt began to wonder if what he was looking at might actually be a large, black hog.

As Matt drew closer, however, his perception of the figure changed again. Now, he wondered if it might be a large man wearing a black arctic suit.

When Matt got within a few hundred feet of the figure, though, he realized it wasn’t a man. It was something he had never even considered as a possible explanation for what he was seeing.

It was a Sasquatch!

Hey there. Thanks for tuning in. You ready for another episode of My Big Foot Sighting? Alright then, let's do this. With the songs of the South of Sudan, when I hear the prompt porch picking down home with them ringing out, I don't run from banjo music. Yeah. If you've had a Big Foot Sighting and would like to be a guest, please go to my bigfootsighting.com and let me know.

My Big Foot Sightings happened on May 20th, 2019 and again, seven years later on May 17th, 2026. These are my Big Foot Sightings. My name is Matt Langford and I live in Central Texas. To get started on May 20th, 2019 at 9.35 a.m. I was driving my 18-wheeler. I was driving between Abelene and Common Texas on Highway 84. I was traveling South, two-thirds of the way to Common Texas to the right side of the highway. I thought I saw a black bull. That's what my brain told me I was looking at. As I traveled down the highway, I was looking for tornado damage to the left of the highway and to the right of the highway,

up in the hills and up in the trees. Two days earlier on May 18th, 2019, storm spotters said, large wedge tornado, possibly on the ground near Common Texas, near Silver Valley Texas, which is 10 or 12 miles north of Common. So traveling on that Monday morning, my brain was looking for tornado damage to closer I got to Silver Valley Texas. I came over a ride on the highway and six tenths of a mile ahead of me. I thought I saw a black bull. I looked to the left of the highway and looked to the right of the highway for tornado damage and glance back at this black bull and it moved from left to right about six or eight feet and it stopped.

When it did that, it did it in a really weird way. Kind of a undulation is the way I like to describe it. But when it did move from left to right, I thought it was a black hog. So I thought to myself, okay, oh, it's a black hog. And I guess instantly my brain thought, you know, because of the tornado that came through this area two days earlier, if somebody's pen went down and somebody's prized six, seven hundred pound black hog got out and was wandering around and was near the highway. And then it's proceeding down the highway. I look back to the left of the highway and back to the right of the highway up in the hills and up in the trees, still looking for tornado damage. And then I look back at the black hog. But now it was walking. It was walking from left to right and it was heading west.

It was in a clearing. It was walking through grass that was about knee high. I know it was knee high because I went back to this location one month later on June the 19th, 2019. Is this walking through this grass? And I'm getting closer. I'm now probably three tenths of a mile from it. And I'm looking at this guy walking west. And I thought, no, it's a guy. Yeah, it's a big guy. It's a big, you know, it's a big dude. And I look back to my left and back to my right looking for tornado damage up in the hills and up in the trees. And then I look back at this guy again. And it did not look right. And I thought to myself, what is this man doing wearing an Arctic suit? Kind of like what you'd wear in a North Pole in a South Pole.

That was the appearance that this guy had on May 20th, 2019. This was a hot, muggy morning at 9.35 a.m. The kind of morning you get out of your vehicle and you just start sweating. It was a hot day, clear, sunny sky. So I thought, what is he doing wearing an Arctic suit? And I look back at the highway and look back at him again. And I'm getting within just literally just a couple of hundred yards of him. And I'm starting to realize that this isn't right. This isn't a man. And I look back at the highway and I look back. And I'm starting to realize this, this, this. This is huge. This, this species. This is, this is bigfoot. That's what entered my brain.

And bigfoot was not on my radar in life. It wasn't not here in central Texas. We'd all heard about it over the years. But bigfoot was not on my brain. And I'm looking at him. And I'm looking at the size of him. And I'm in shock and awe. And at some point, my foot came off the accelerator of my 18 wheeler. My cruise control was out for about two weeks on this freight liner that I was driving. Hall and fuel. Dan, I didn't even realize my foot came off the accelerator, but it did. So as I'm coming up on this bigfoot, I'm looking at him. And his arms are huge. His legs are huge.

He is thick. He's jet black. Muscle bound. He had a very large head. And the hair on top of his head. It was kind of long. And it was scraggly. And it was all messed up. And I could see the right side of his face. And looking at it in my brain. I thought he has a very small face. In hindsight, I realized that I would just see in part of the right side of his face. The rest of his face was covered up in hair. I didn't know that at the time. And as I'm passing him, I'm getting a good look at him. And I'm looking at his back. His back was already big at the angle I was looking at. Up the left side of my windshield looking west because I'm heading south.

His arms. I've described his arms. They were as big as my chest. And his legs were bigger than his arms. And as I come around and looking at his back. His shoulders. People have talked about shoulders being four foot wide. And they were. They were every bit of four foot wide. His back to his chest in that profile. He was probably two and a half feet thick. He was massive. And from his shoulders. Up to the back of his head. About to wear. Our shoulders would come to the middle of our ears. Was his. His trap muscles. And it gave the back of him. The appearance of a small pyramid.

His traps were huge. And they angled right up. And it made his head look small. From the back. It looked really weird. I could see his spine. I could see his butt crack. Now, can you not? He's walking away. And he's heading for the tree line. Having been back there over the years. Many times. He was about 75 yards from the edge of the highway. To that tree line. And as I've closed up on him. And looking at the backside of him. And the sun had him lit up. Like he was in a spotlight. His. His. From his armpits to his waist. They didn't taper down like a bodybuilder. They taper down slightly to a really thick waist.

And a really big butt. I've described his butt as being as widest. If you put two horses butts next to each other. He was massive. His legs were huge. And he walked the whole time. He never ran. But he walked with a purpose. Like he had an attitude. Like he was pissed. And what happened. In my mind. When I came over the rise of the highway. He was squatted down. Beside the highway right next to it. And why he was there. I don't know. But he was. And I think he heard my tractor coming up from behind him. From six tenths of a mile. He heard me. And he tried to lay down in the grass. And I think he realized the grass was not tall enough.

And he got up. And he started walking. Head in for that tree line. And of course I'm looking on both sides of the highway. Looking for tornado damage up in the hills and up in the trees. Not realizing when I was looking at at first. At some point. After he covered about 30 yards away from the highway. He stepped over a privacy fence. Three and a half four foot tall privacy fence. I did not see that. Because I was looking for tornado damage. Up in the hills and up in the trees. I wish I would have saw him step over that fence. But he did at some point. He got over it. And he headed for that tree line. And when he got to that tree line as I was passing him. He disappeared like smoke. He blended in so fast and so well.

Into those dark woods. Into that tree line. It's like he disappeared like smoke. He didn't push trees or brush out of the way. Now. He just walked right into where he was going. And that was the last I saw of him. And it changed my life in a micro second. I've been researching and investigating bigfoot for over seven years now. Today is September the seventh. 2026. On May the 17th of this year. In a researcher. That I have been researching since January of this year. I finally saw my second bigfoot. I believe there's a female.

She's almost seven foot tall. I was able to do a recreation with a property owner that also saw her. First split second. I saw her for half a second. And doing the recreation she is. She's almost seven foot tall. We had some limbs that we were able to use as markers where she was. Going back to. May 20th 2019. I estimate this jet black bigfoot. It's seven and a half to eight feet tall. He was 900 to a thousand pounds. And I say that with confidence. From the vantage point behind my steering wheel in the 18 wheeler. Looking out the left side. The passenger side. I'm sorry. The passenger side.

Of my windshield. And eventually out the passenger window. And looking at this big foot. Heading for the tree line. When you're sitting behind the steering wheel. Your eyes. And so that puts my line aside at about the nine foot level. And from where this guy was walking. I confidently put him at seven and a half to eight feet tall. At least. And as far as his weight. I say 900 to a thousand pounds. And I say that with confidence. Because in the research and the study and all the investigating that we do. In 1967. The Patterson Gimlin Film. Dr. Jeff Meldrum stood by these numbers. After Roger Patterson Film. Patty.

He was on his knees in a sand bar. And where her trackway was. That distance. In a recreation. Peter Bern was there just within a few days after that filming. And he put a man named Hodskins. A man of known height of about six foot tall. In the same pathway. That Patty walked. And taking photographs. From where Roger Patterson was at the sand bar. Using known trees. And fallen logs. And to be able to capture distance. They were able to calculate Patty. In 87 and a half inches. She was seven foot three and a half. And Dr. Meldrum went on to explain. That with the skeletal structure of Patty.

And being able to take measurements. Of her width. In her thighs. The muscle mass on that skeleton. They estimated Patty. It's seven to eight hundred pounds. Dr. Jeff Meldrum stood by these numbers. And so do I. So if Patty. Was seven foot three and a half. Seven to eight hundred pounds. The one I saw in 2019 was bigger than her. And I'm confident he was seven and a half to eight feet tall. He probably outweighed Patty by 150 to 200 pounds. That would put him at 900 to a thousand. And I'm confident with those numbers. And the research that I've done here in central Texas.

After two years of research. I found my first trackway. Fifteen inch tracks. Between Brady, Texas and Brady Lake. Those two locations are seven miles apart. And I won't say what direction from there that I found these. This trackway. Fifteen inch tracks. It's a big creature. And then within about two months. After that, I found a second set of tracks. Fifteen miles from there. Only these tracks. We're nine and a half to ten inches. Which means I had two different individuals in that area. In that research area. And then shooting forward. 2023.

I found my second set of tracks. West of a reservoir where I live here in central Texas. I went to an area nearer BFRO. Documented sighting. As a crow flies, I was a mile and a half to two miles from that location. But I put myself in the right location. Withers water. And there's heavy game traffic. The deer and the hogs and the turkeys. I study tracks. Of all the known animals in my area. And that tells me of the food source. And it was at that location. After a couple of months of heavy research. I found two trackways together. 13 and a half inch track. A company. By an 11 and a half inch track. Two different individuals.

And then. Fast forwarding. To March of this year. 2026. I found a trackway in this research area that I am currently working. And that trackway, these are 13 inch tracks. From what I believe is a female. She has a four foot stride. If you measure from here to here. I have found multiple trackways from her. Throughout this property. This very exclusive private property. Not where people go. But big foot goes there. And a week later, I discovered her tracks on March 21st. Of this year. I worked that game trail for an hour and a half looking for more evidence. But the tracks ended at a log.

Is she obviously stepped into the river. And across to the other side. There were no, no weather tracks to be found. The very next weekend. On March 28th. On that same trail that I worked for an hour and a half. I found new tracks. Seven and a half by three and a half inches wide. There's a young one. That's what told me now. That I had a female any young one. This whole year. That I've been working this area. I have found no evidence, no tracks. Of a large male. All the trackways and all the tracks. Are the 13 inch by five and a half inch. A company with the seven and a half, a three and a half inch tracks.

So on May 17th. Me and the property owner. She was spying on us. We got a glimpse of her. She was behind us. 30, 35 yards in the brush. Down hill. From an area in front of his cabin. Going down toward the river that cuts to this property. I saw her out of the Perfeele vision. And the property owner started to speak. I saw her. I saw her for a half second. He saw her for just a split second as she disappeared behind the brush. And I took off after her. I chased her. She was on a six to seven foot. Elevation drop over that 30 or 35 yards. So I was on the ridge above her.

When I saw her. She leaned her head forward and kind of down. Eight to ten inches as she bolted and ran. Because that's all her. And I got up and I chased after her. I was on the ridge line above her. And I was looking through the brush. And I was running as fast as I could looking for her. And on this property. Fifty yards ahead of me. Running north. I knew I had a game trail. I'd been up and down that game trail many times. Doing research. And I ran looking through the brush, looking down, looking for her. When I got to the game trail. I cut off to the right. And I went down. That game trail. Once you hit that game trail. Probably 25 feet down it.

The game trail splits off to the left. And I stayed to the right. Just trying to see her. I wanted to see her face. I wanted to see her. And I didn't. They're fast. Witnesses have talked about how fast they are. I'm one of them now. I never saw her. She was just gone. And I searched for her for the next hour and a half. And she was just gone. She either hit a game trail. Or she went to the river. Well, I had a mate. Those are my two bigfoot sightings. So on this property where I saw the female on May 17th. It took almost to the day, seven years to see my second bigfoot.

And I've been blessed. On April the 19th. Before I saw her, a month before I saw her. She left a handprint on the passenger side of my truck. It's well documented. And it's well discussed around the country at this point. It's a massive handprint. It dwarfs my hand. She came up and she touched the passenger side of my truck. While I was on the driver's side of my truck, 500 yards away down the river and in the woods doing research. So I got home on that Sunday. And it was going to rain. We had thunderstorms coming in on us. You could smell the rain. And I remembered on Saturday. I did not check my mail. So I went and checked my mail real quick.

And when I was coming back up on my truck, looking at the passenger side. Between the windows in the front door and back door. I noticed it. I was at first until I got closer. Then I started to realize it's a handprint. And as I got even closer, I realized this is big. This is a huge handprint. And I got my hand up to it. I got close. I got my hand up there. And I was I was in shock and awe. She touched my truck. She touched my truck out in my research area. I believe whenever you go into these research areas. If you clear your mind and you go in with a good heart. And you take God with you. Good things will happen. This research area. Is a big foot. Researchers dream come true. I've had so much activity. Well, since March. 21st of this year.

2026. It's not every week. I go out and do I find new evidence tree structures. Broken limbs. At the seven foot level. Not limbs that are going to be broke. By a bird. Or a vulture landing on. They marked her way. I don't understand what it means. None of us really do. But they do break limbs. And she has. And the tracks are right there with them. It's been amazing. So as a researcher. I went into this rabbit hole. In a micro second. On May 20th, 2019 at 935 a.m. It started. And I've been doing it every day since.

My family and my friends. My siblings will tell you. I do this every day. To some degree. I'm doing big foot something. And I love it. I will never try to climb out of this rabbit hole. I will always try to learn as much as I can about this species. I used to call him a creature in a monster. And doing research and investigating and listening to witness testimonies. They're not just a creature. They're a species. We as humans are a species. So I definitely mean no disrespect. They're smart. They're intelligent. In my opinion, they're smart. In nature, as we are in technology. People wonder why we don't see them.

It's my strong belief. That they travel through the cave systems. In the ancient lava tubes. They follow the underground aquifers. They follow the above ground aquifers. They stay close to water. Everything stays close to water. Everything on planet earth has to have some degree of water. And their food source stays close to water. They follow the vegetation, the tubulars, the edibles. They can catch anything. They are the masters of the woods. And when it comes to animal camouflage. If animals don't move, we typically don't see them. I believe that the Sasquatch, the Bigfoot, they watch us. They watch us from 50 yards or 100 yards away.

They stay behind the trees. They stay behind the brush. And they're watching us. When they don't move. So we don't see them. And when we do see them, we're lucky. We hit the lottery. There's over 8 billion people on this planet. And the percentage of people that have seen them and have been around them is so minute. It's like hitting the lottery. And I've been blessed. People have asked me. Seeing Bigfoot. Was it a blessing? Was it a curse? I said, no, it's a blessing. I said on my story for six years. When I first started trying to tell people about it, people that were close to me.

People would give me the eye rolls. People would try to change the conversation. Because that's all I could talk about was Bigfoot. Not that I blame them. But that will back you off. That will shut you up. And it did shut me up for six years. And I got to a point in my life. After wanting to tell the world about it. That it was time. And so I went forward. I reached out to Charlie Raymond and Lindsey Raymond. At the Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization. I met Charlie and Lindsey in 2021 at the Texas Bigfoot conference in Jefferson, Texas. Very kind people. Very kind people.

And also got to meet Dr. Jeff Meldrum there. Rest in peace, sir. Dr. Jeff Meldrum was able to have three different conversations with him that day. In between the speakers and the breaks that we were having at this conference. I showed him some photographs of the location where I saw Bigfoot in 2019. And I've got photographs that have never been made public. One day they will be just not yet. And he told me he said, Matt. If you ever decide to make these photographs public. Please send them to me first. Because I know people. And I said, yes, sir. Dr. Meldrum. He took one of his eye out of the whole state University business cards. He flipped it over. He wrote down his personal email to me.

And then he looked at me and he said, Matt. He said, discovery leads to knowledge. And that knowledge can lead to new discoveries. Never stop looking, Matt. And those words have been with me ever since. And I haven't stopped looking and I never will. I will do this until God says I can't physically or mentally do it anymore. My love. Looking for Bigfoot. I love going into the woods. It's an adventure. Whether you find evidence or not, it's why you're there. And it's what you see. And when you find the evidence. When you've done your homework and you put yourself in the right place at the right time. And they have been there. And you find the tracks which I have six different individuals over five years here in Central Texas.

It's like hitting the lottery. It's the gold standard to me. I know I've done my job and I've done it right. I just want people to know. Bigfoot is real. They're in the woods. And they are the masters of the woods. Don't go in there. Please try to hurt them. If you're going to look for them, please go in there with a pure heart and with curiosity. And maybe you'll be blessed enough to see them. If they'll let you, I guess. It took seven years for me to see two of them. And it was a blessing for the people that I have met. The hundreds and hundreds of people that I now call friends within this bigfoot community just in the United States alone. Wonderful people.

Beautiful people. Dedicated people. To this phenomenon. Yeah, it's a blessing. It's not a curse. So I won't stop. Dr. Melodym told me not to. Now I've taken his words to heart. And I take those words with me. And I take my prayers with me into the woods every time I go out and research. I don't have a death wish. God's got my number. But I'm at the age now that I know. I'm going to have a choice in life. Get busy living or get busy dying. And I choose to live. Because at 85 years old, I'm not going to look back and say I wish I would have. I lost my son Ryan.

2011. 15 years ago. Eight years later. In 2019. I saw bigfoot. And I've asked God many times. What did my son die? Why did I say bigfoot? God's going to give me my interest when the time comes. I want to make my son proud. I know he's looking down at me from heaven. I take him into woods with me too. And I put my story in my research. And my son Ryan for those who care to listen. And I'm here to tell you. I'm here to tell you all. For the people that are on the fence. For the people that made doubt. The existence of Sasquatch.

The real. The very real. And they are in our woods. They're all over North America. They're on every continent on this planet. And Australia, they call them the alley. In China, they call them the Aaron. South America, still ran. Pandak in Russia. Is the Yeti. And there's a rich, rich oral history. And there's a rich back on each of these continents. 5,000 years in Australia with the Aborigines. 8,000 years in China. And on, and on, and on. Maybe the only continent on this planet. You might not find them. Is Antarctica. Because even trees don't grow in Antarctica.

But Bigfoot is real. There's very few, few scattered stories of people being hurt by them. Documenting cases. But don't piss them off. Please don't hurt them. I do carry. I do carry my shotgun. I do carry my 44 magnum into the woods. Because I'm in central Texas. And I have to worry about the mountain lions and the hogs. Because they're thick here. I'm more worried about them than I am Bigfoot. And in my open mind, I speak to Bigfoot and I let them know. These weapons aren't for y'all. These are for the mountain lions and the hogs. Because they don't have a conscious. I believe Bigfoot does have a conscience.

I believe they do make decisions. They do it all the time. Their tree structures are phenomenal. They'll take your breath away when you walk up on one. An amazing species. Yeah, it's been a blessing. Two open and seven years. I may never see another one. But I can go to my grave. Know when they are here. They're everywhere, man. They're everywhere. They'll never stop. Ever. And those are my Bigfoot sightings. My life for 11 central Texas. If you want to reach out to me and you have a story, you want to make a connection, look for me on Facebook. Hit me up on Messenger.

Tell me your story. Because I love them all. I can listen to them every day. And I have. It never gets old. And it never will. Thank you. Well, that's it for tonight's show. If you've had a Bigfoot sighting and would like to be a guest, please go to mybigfootsighting.com and let us know. Thanks for listening. Have a great night. I've seen a bunch of run down the horse towns where the church is the backbone of the mountain. And the pow, string melodies go in. But the warm man rose where the roots run deep. Beyond the nose of the busy streets. With the songs of the South-South Sudan. When I hear the prompt porch picking down home, ringing out, I don't run from banjo music. Yeah.

The sound of a memory brings me back to the blue grass playing on my dad's eight track. It's become an abyss through it. Getting through the day on scrubs and scabs. Buckingham bales to the stenicy jams. And the world the way that I do it. When I hear the prompt porch picking down home, ringing out, I don't run from banjo music. Yeah. Summing it all the backwards, backwards, and double-tum. Getting in the thorn in the drum, I'm looking toky-star. There's all the endings drumming out, because you're born living. When I hear the prompt porch picking down home, ringing out, I don't run from banjo music.

Here's the city life, drives me wild. On the tune is the cars rushing by. With the bass on the stereo's pinning. When I hear the prompt porch picking down home, ringing out, I don't run from banjo music. Yeah. Summing it all the backwards, backwards, and double-tum. Getting in the thorn in the drum, I'm looking toky-star. There's all the endings drumming out, because you're born living.
