Hey Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the notes of been news from Washington DC.
Monday, March 16th, 2026, stand up for your country. We are here all week.
Lots of stuff going on. Going to the White House tomorrow for the St. Patrick's Day.
I guess it's a celebration I've never been.
Usually the Irish, you know, they see me, they go, I don't know if it's worth it.
It's not, not worth it. But we'll be there. We'll report on what happens on Wednesday.
And we're doing a lot of political stuff here with Iran.
As it comes in, we will report it to you.
The problem with Washington DC is that the sea stands for chaos.
So you will not believe, and we had a lot of stuff booked.
It all collapses because there's a monsoon.
If it rains or it's windy in Washington, nobody comes outside.
It's, you know, on and on and on.
But we're here. We'll get it all done.
And hopefully it will be worthy.
Now the talking points memo is an important one tonight.
Descent versus disloyalty.
Okay. So we're saying this with Iran.
And my job is to report what's happening to you accurately.
Without any shade or spin, the nose spins on.
You know that.
I've been making my living doing this for 30 years.
National news analysis.
I do not deceive.
I support the Iranian action.
But there are some gaps in what happened.
And I don't know yet.
I will find out.
But at this point,
Iran is an evil country
that has killed thousands of Americans and millions of people
all over the world
through its funding of terrorism
and gunning down its own citizens,
going on for almost 40 years now.
And they simply won't stop developing the nuclear weapon
during the United Nations.
Okay.
So I'm president.
I got to evaluate all of that.
Now let's get into disloyalty versus descent.
If you oppose the Iran action,
you're a loyal American.
That's descent.
You are absolutely within your rights to do that.
But remember, it's got to be fact-based.
It can't be, I hate Trump,
so I hate everything he does.
That's disloyal.
Now he's the president.
Now, then he's seven million Americans voted for him.
But saying maybe this isn't worth it
because I have to pay a lot more money for gasoline
and utilities and food.
Okay.
That's a valid point of discussion.
Then there is satire.
Yeah, satire is okay.
And it's not disloyal.
And it depends on who's delivering it.
Of course, because people like Stephen Colbert
and I'll play you a soundbite in a moment, he hates Trump.
So whatever Trump does, he's going to mock it.
Whatever the Democrats and liberals do, he's going to ignore it.
Bulletin.
This military mission has been dubbed Operation Epic Fury.
Fun fact, no.
Fun fact, Epic Fury is an anagram for Forget Epstein.
Now, right off the top.
Can you check that?
Can we check?
Make sure that's the case.
Fact check that.
All right, so Colbert is gone, come May 21st.
Uh, see you.
Not going to miss you.
Uh, okay.
What about disloyalty?
Then it gets into another zone.
Okay, and here is a perfect example.
Go.
And I don't think you should have illegally killed
the leader of foreign leader of a nation, who's also, by the way,
a spiritual leader to millions of Shia Muslims around the world.
He wasn't my spiritual leader, but he's a spiritual leader to many people I know.
Uh, and that's a reality.
Okay, so now, uh, the ayatollahs,
murderers, killers,
they're spiritual leaders.
And he, oh, no, he can't.
No, no.
I mean, come on.
You know, Jim Jones was a spiritual leader.
Remember him and South America poisoning all of his followers?
Yeah, but you know, no, no, you can't.
Now, he's just like, I have my opinion, my humble opinion.
Not a loyal America doesn't like this country.
Doesn't look out for his country.
Why people book him is just astounding.
I had his conversation with Chris Cuomo,
because he was on a show that I was on.
I don't know about a year ago on News Nation.
I said, I'm not going to appear with the guy anymore.
He hates America.
Why do I want to appear with somebody like that?
And I won't.
Oh, no, no, he's just a said, no,
hates America.
Again, in my opinion.
Okay, now newsbusters, a conservative group that tracks the media says that, uh,
94% of all the Iranian war-related jokes
poke fun at the United States.
Not Iran or Spain or not.
It was all about us.
Okay, and it, and it's true.
Let's say Trump's an idiot, Trump's there.
You heard the co-bear crowd.
Oh, and they know nothing.
Those people don't know anything.
I mean, they're sitting there and they like, uh,
the far left point of view.
So that's why they're in the ads of the theater.
Okay, but now, not only thing.
So 94%, uh, it's a lot.
And, um, some of it is okay.
As I mentioned, you know, go up to the line.
Um, but some of it is pandering to an audience.
So Saturday Night Live is a very good example of this.
Very rarely did it ever make fun of Joe Biden.
If there was ever a man, you could make fun of it.
But they were really interested in mocking him once in a while,
but not that with every blank and weak.
They're on Trump.
Go.
Guys, me, Donald Trump.
You might remember me from such campaign promises as lower gas prices.
And no more wars.
Hey, we love to make promises because a promise is just a lie that hasn't happened yet.
But now it has, and gas costs like a million billion dollars a gallon.
And as for the start market, let me put it in a way that the
Harry Styles fans in the crowd tonight won't understand.
You guys are going to love this one, that the stock market is going in one direction.
Okay, look, but it's the same every week, pound, pound, and pound, and pound, and that's
what keeps into the culture.
So you got the news, corporate news, television industry, and the major
urban newspapers, Trump's and idiot, Trump's this, Trump's that.
And then you go over the entertainment industry, Trump's and idiot, Trump.
These people who don't know anything, they absorb that.
It's protected under their constitution.
They're not traders, like the other guy, okay, they're not that.
But they're not certainly not fair, people, and they're certainly not looking out for you.
Make fun of everybody.
I mean, if you have trouble, call me.
I'll write you some stuff, SNL.
The final thing I want to show you is that there is a deep culture,
a liberal culture, and you know that.
And Holly was the Academy Awards for last night, Conan O'Brien is the host.
He's a good guy known for a long time.
He's not a crazy guy.
But Conan has to virtue signal.
What I mean by that is he has to tell Holly how noble Holly would is.
If he wants to continue to work, rotate.
Every film we salute is the product of thousands of people speaking different languages,
working hard to make something of beauty.
We pay tribute tonight, not just to film, but to the ideals of global artistry,
collaboration, patience, resilience, and that rarest of qualities today, optimism.
No, okay, so this is the inclusive stuff.
Now, most good people believe in inclusion.
You don't want to exclude somebody because of the cover of their skin or their religion.
And that's terrible.
So we want to have a diversity of opinion and a diversity of artistry.
We don't want it forced.
Conan, you went to Harvard.
I went to Harvard.
And we know what happened to that university.
It wasn't how skilled you were as a high school student
that granted you admission.
It was what you looked like.
Okay, what your zip code was.
Not anything other than that.
It was they were selective and forcing inclusion.
And by that, they excluded people.
Should have been admitted to Harvard.
Hollywood does it all day long.
Let's face it, the US economy is under stress.
National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets.
And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling goal.
That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver.

America leads the world in medicine development.
It matters.
We get new medicines first, nearly three years faster.
Five million Americans go to work because we make medicines here at home.
And not relying on other countries keeps us safe.
But China is racing to overtake us.
Will we let them?
Or will we choose to stay ahead?
When America leads, America cures.
Let's tell Washington to keep us in the lead.

Pay for by Farma.
All day long, they do that.
And Kona likes it.
Okay, as long as it's not forced in an Hollywood, it is forced.
So you can see this tremendous liberal wave coming out the country,
even in a situation as important and complicated as it wrong.
And I don't believe most people understand what's going on there.
And it's my job to try to clear that up a little bit.
And that's the memo.
Okay, so,
oil is about $100 barrel up from, what was it?
$50 a barrel?
Something recently.
I mean, it's getting pounded, so we ought to pay more.
I think I filled up over the weekend and I didn't like it.
It's $0.50 a gallon more in my town than it was three weeks ago.
But I wasn't whining about it.
I understand it.
That you're going to disrupt the world oil markets,
then you're going to have higher prices.
What I don't understand, I'll get to in a moment.
Why we have so much oil in the USA?
Why are our prices going up?
We're not importing oil.
Why are we getting hose?
We're going to deal with that.
Now, today, President Trump issued this statement.
All right, quote,
this war was started by Barack Hussein Obama and Joe Biden.
We've been fighting it for 47 years.
I'm putting an end to it because I am the peace president,
says Mr. Trump.
This week, I will be creating the Hormuz Peace Board,
where I so-called coward NATO allies are not welcome.
Many real allies have already expressed desire to join this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
secure, the Hormuz for peace.
Thank you for your attention.
All right, so Donald Trump is not back on the way.
For many thing, NATO doesn't like him.
Okay, we all know that.
But NATO is incorporating with the Iranian action by and large.
They're not.
And that's kind of spooky, because boy oh boy,
those people know every European country knows what force migration has done to it.
And how dangerous Iran really is.
They're not that far away.
Okay, let's get into why we the people are involved with this in our wallets.
Dr. Peter Morici is a economist and professor emeritus at the University of Maryland.
And he joins us now from Alexandria, Virginia, just a few miles from where I am.
You know, I'd love to have you in the studio, but we don't have a studio within the chair.
Here in DC, only in one chair.
He sounds like the first place I'd talk, just a little Lutheran College of Minneapolis.
We couldn't afford chalk.
Right, I had to put you on a bird because it's not a chair.
We can't get into the chair.
And it's only one camera.
It's just like boom.
All right, so look, Dr. we have plenty of oil in the United States and
they're releasing the reserves and they're doing everything.
Why are we why am I paying 50 to 50 cents more gallon?
Why?
Well, because we can export the oil for one thing.
And we also import refined products.
We don't refine all the gasoline we need.
So we're importing refined products, which are made out of more expensive oil.
But the U.S. price goes up and down with the Brent crude price.
The Texas and the media price goes up and down with Brent crude.
And they both gone up by about 50 percent.
But I don't understand that.
So usually it's supply and demand.
And the support that's the same oil.
And I get your point that we need some ingredients that we have to bring in here.
But that's not the big thing.
The big thing is the world price of oil, which is now over $100.
Okay.
But we in the United States, we don't have to buy that oil.
So why are we we don't pump exactly the right kind of oil for our refineries.
So what we tend to do is export some of it and import some refined product.
The other thing you have to consider is anybody who's got oil to sell,
they can sell it abroad for a lot more money than they can here.
And so that lifts the price.
But I think it's U.S. companies that are doing this.
They're lifting the price and they don't have to lift the price.
It's almost like a cabal.
It's almost like a monopoly because all the same.
Sinclair, a mobile or X on it.
All do the same thing.
Well, they are making money, but they tend to do the same thing
under all circumstances because they were responding to market prices.
I mean, two farmers that have beef cattle of the same quality,
they sell at the same price because the market and supply and demand dictate it or require it.
You can't just get one farmer to sell cheaper than another.
Don't you think there's a collusion among American oil companies to get these prices
up as high as they can get them?
I hate to tell you this, but you're starting to sound like
Elizabeth Warren or AOC talking about the banks.
I don't think they're conspiring at all.
Now, they see what each other does.
And that's a problem, but that's a problem in a lot of markets.
But I don't think, you know, I don't buy this notion that America is a conglomeration
of monopolists like the grocery stores that conspiring.
And the oil companies are conspiring.
No, I'm not a good guy either.
But I don't know any other product that has the same price and
four gas stations.
I don't know any date.
And when the president says, well, we're going to release all of these oil,
all this oil from our reserves and the price doesn't go down.
Well, it takes time to pump it out.
All right, why don't you listen it?
Joe Biden pumped out about the same amount of oil as Donald Trump has now authorized.
As the oil and the salt domes go down, there's less pressure and it comes out more slowly.
And then you have to disperse it into the marketplace.
These things do not happen instantaneously.
This is not like TV where you and I can make TV and people can see it, you know,
almost the same time with oil.
It takes time to do this stuff.
But it doesn't really help.
So the president announces, you are, we're going to do all the oil release and it doesn't bring
to crisis balance. Why bother doing it?
I'm a little skeptical of it myself.
I don't think things should be bad enough that we need to release that oil.
Because we don't produce a lot of oil.
The impact on the price of gasoline is going up anyway.
And the impact on the economy is not going to be as terrible as some people fear,
because while consumers are paying more for gasoline,
they're not paying it to Saudi Arabia this time,
like the way they were in the 70s.
They're paying it to Exxon.
So Exxon's dividends will go up, you know, they'll have more cash spent.
The American companies is not going overseas,
but it's still painful for the American worker who is operating at a very thin margin.
And all of a sudden, the oil and utility costs are double what they were.
Now, here's a question.
What's going to Trump had to know that would happen
when he initiated the Iranian campaign, right?
I don't know. I mean, after all, he had advisement.
Hold on a second.
Hold on, hold on.
You know, this administration didn't spend its draft choices.
It's top draft choices on economists.
I mean, these are the same guys who told percent
and the president that tariffs would not raise prices.
And tariffs have, in some measure, raised prices.
Foreign producers have eaten the tariffs.
They've mostly been eaten by American companies and American consumers.
So it's not inconceivable to me that they deceived themselves at the White House
and that he wasn't getting good information.
But even if he was, so he knew we have to do something about Iran.
They are very close to having weapon grade, nuclear material.
The time has come that they never stopped.
The Wall Street Journal had a very interesting article this morning.
They never stopped trying to make a nuclear weapon.
Even during the period the treaty was enforced.
Don't let the liberals tell you that Donald Trump disrupted that.
And that now they have their reason.
You know, he's the reason they restarted their program.
It was going on all along.
No, I agree with that.
The time has come to put these killers out of business.
I see it the way you see it as far as Iran being or it danger to the world.
The New York Post has been delivering impactful headlines for over two centuries.
And every weekday morning I'll bring them straight to you.

And I do believe that they were cheating and at our strike last June,
knocked out most of their nuclear capacity, but not all of it.
And I do believe that they actually told the United States we're not going to stop.
Because I know that to be true in a their last meeting in Geneva.
But here's what I don't know and this is why I can't go in with 100% certainty.
The word imminent.
And that's what the left is seized upon.
What do you mean imminent?
What's the poor choice of words?
That was a poor choice of words.
Yeah, because we don't have access to US intel.
We don't know what the CIA and Mossad, the Israeli intel service, knows.
And I think the president has got to be a little more specific in defining
what they call the clear and present danger.
Would I be wrong?
Well, we do know.
But now we're looking at the notion of sending in the special services and why not
in Strenervis, the former commander-in-chief of NATO and of the Southern command.
It says that about 10% of the Iranian they have in a column he wrote yesterday or today,
you know, is very, very close to being weapons-grade.
So that could be uplifted.
I mean, they need to be more specific in this situation.
If he doesn't source it, then it's just his opinion.
See, I'm pretty good, he's been pretty good on the fact-checking.
In the sense that you don't see him having to walk backwards very often.
Okay, but doctor, then you get into, if that's true, and this guy is a pipeline in and he should
it. Absolutely, sure.
If anybody does on the outside, it'd be something like that.
Why are the NATO countries turning their back on the USA and giving us a hard time?
Well, I think it's because the NATO nations really just don't have spine and backbone anymore.
You know, they really, honestly, they're vegetarians in a world of carnivores.
Well, we know that the continent-
They want to wish the problems away, they don't want to deal with this.
I mean, let's put it this way, they tell us where the essential country in the Ukraine,
not to bury the story, right?
But if somebody's going to put, if we're going to finally deal with Russia,
it's going to take some boots on the ground there because they're just not enough Ukrainians.
President de France suggested that to the previous premier of Germany, he went apoplexic.
I mean, they just don't want to fight over there.
I mean, the polls do, but there aren't enough of them.
But I don't know, even that they would put troops in the Ukraine alone.
But my feeling is that they want us to do their dirty work for them.
And since we went out in without asking their permission,
well, you know, they didn't want to even, who's going to benefit from us escorting the boat,
the ships through? It's other countries.
They're the ones who need to buy oil on the international market.
And Lord knows, for next winter, they need Qatar's natural gas.
This thing has to be brought to a conclusion.
And they're not going to help us do this unless Donald Trump really twists their arm,
which he did. Now, we'll see if he gets a result.
Well, the relations are a low point between the USA and NATO right now.
You could place a blame wherever you want.
But I believe the continent, European nations, are weak,
as particularly Germany, Germany, you know, Italy is actually stepped up.
Spain, I would expel.
I just kick him right now.
Bye.
You don't get any argument for me on that one.
Or at least they ought to be putting the penalty box for a year.
Like the Russians can invade Spain if they want to.
They're obnoxious, but they're a socialist country that's veering toward communism in Spain.
People don't know that, but that's what's going on.
All right, last word about this.
I think we have gotten into now an area where we know that the American oil companies
are making as much money as they possibly can off the Serenian action.
And a lot of us are going to be uncomfortable with that.
Last word.
Oh, I think that's right.
Americans are going to feel very uncomfortable and feel that it's very unfair
that the oil companies profit so much.
And the oil companies would do well to use some of that money
to benefit Americans so they might feel better about it.
Okay, Dr. We really appreciate it.
Good discussion.
I hope you'll come back.
Thank you.
All right, the President and Vice President spoke together about this fraud
that task force that JD Vance is in charge of good.
Good.
Okay, the the Minnesota thing is so out of control.
And California's bad main, tiny main.
And that's just our money.
That's our tax money.
I mean, so I hope Vance can step up.
And I want to know the names.
I want to know.
So that's a good thing.
Caroline Levitt, the White House spokesperson,
I'll probably see her tomorrow.
She is demanded that ABC News retract a story saying that Iran might attack California with drones.
Now, when I heard this story reported by ABC and you know,
I am let's have I have severe questions about ABC News.
And I worked there for two years and it was a great experience.
But Jennings was in charge.
Okay, and it was a whole different thing.
So when I heard it, Iran drones California, it's a long way.
That's a long drone flight.
I went as just another ridiculous story.
So it turns out to be a ridiculous story.
How do we know that?
Newsom, the governor says this quote,
while we're not aware of any imminent threats at this time
from Iran and drones,
we remain prepared for any emergency at our state.
So news is going, yeah, there's a bunch of crap.
Now, ABC News, what is wrong with you people?
You got to check this stuff out.
It makes no sense.
Okay, yeah, there are going to be terrorist incidents
because of the open border and Biden let everybody in.
So some terrorists came in.
We see in that with drones in California.
Oh, all right, US Embassy in Venezuela raises the flag, our flag,
for the first time in seven years,
because Venezuela is a terrible country under the drone.
Now, it's trying to get back to some semblance of fairness.
So there is our flag in Krakow.
So now is a good thing.
The SAVE American Ag Voter ID, it's not going to pass.
So if you want to spend your time watching ridiculous speculation
on cable news programs, that's your choice.
But there's no way the Democratic Party is going to support it.
So it becomes an issue in November.
Now, all right, we should have voter ID here.
Every European country has it.
But we can't have it here because some far left cooks
say, oh, look, the states are in charge of getting people IDs to them.
Hi, I'm Jim. I'm not an actor.
Just a guy living with prostate cancer.

All this law would do would compel the states to do it.
Nobody's going to be denied that would be a federal crime that they were denied.
This is actually a good law.
But Democrats don't want it because, you know, but the folks do.
And then we have the Homeland Security Chaos, the Air Force.
So 300, at least, Air Force Greeners, TSA, agents of Quit, isn't that getting paid?
Because the Democrats are holding up funding for Homeland Security.
Not ICE, I already fund it.
Okay?
And the Trump administration has moved out known.
It moved out a few other people.
It pulled out of Minneapolis in great numbers.
It has taken steps to mitigate some of the problems.
Democrats don't care.
Okay? So they're holding it up.
So when you go to the airport and you have to wait for two hours,
there's some Republicans should be able to sign, thank your local Democrat.
These are big issues that are going to come in November.
It's my life.
So at its height in the 1950s, about 45% of American smoke cigarettes.
My mother was a chimney.
My father once in a while would smoke a cigarette, but he wasn't a big
smoker. But my mother, and she gave it up, it's sort of my father, but they gave it
up fairly early. But my mother was like, my sister and I are in a backseat of the second-hand
car, usually a Nash Rambler. And it was like, L.A. on August humid day.
This is a smoke.
I remember like it was yesterday.
My mother never did that.
Anyway, 45% of American adults smoke back then.
Now the number has dropped to 10%.
Okay. And this is tobacco product use.
It is a national health study.
So if you go to Europe, they still smoking the butt off out there,
pardon the pun. But here we're down.
And the goal is down 6% of American smoking.
Men smoke more than women, 24% of those who do smoke.
Are men? 14% women.
I don't know anybody. I do know one guy who smokes.
And the guy is still alive. He should have been dead a long time ago. He's been smoking since
he's 16. And you just look at this guy. He's like, how are you doing this? I know one guy.
Folks, I don't know any men. Women smoke.
Not. I know a lot of people.
Oscar's last night.
I didn't watch it. I was watching the USA beat the Dominican Republic in baseball.
And the reason was the Dominicans were all trying to hit home runs.
If the Dominican is just trying to hit the ball, rather than hit home runs,
they had a better lineup in the USA.
Okay, but the USA won two to one. That's what I was watching.
I didn't watch the Dopey Academy Awards because I didn't see any movies.
The best movie of the year one battle after another Leonardo DiCaprio was in it. I know that.
And Paul Thomas Anderson directed it. Movie ran almost three hours.
That better be good. And I tried to watch it on cable.
I couldn't get through it. Now it's my fault.
It's my fault they couldn't get through it. I got to give it another shot.
Try.
Couldn't get through it.
We'll be back with the final photo moment.
Okay, final thought of the day.
One of the worst things that I encounter every year on St. Patrick's Day is in New York City.
They have the massive parade and whether it's supposed to be okay.
Boston is a big parade too. I was in it a few years back.
But the city's kids 15, 16 throwing up because they drank.
Boy, boy, boy, boy.
Bathers me, bothers me, bothers me.
So look, the less booze you can consume on Tuesday, tomorrow, the better.
Sorry, I don't want to be a scold here, but I don't know anybody any good.
Have a good time.
You know, hoist a couple, but let's keep it under control.
You see some kid drinking.
I don't know what you do these days. You know, the kids are like, I'll listen to you.
I never had that problem with my kids.
And I was so adamantly against it. I think it's seeped in.
But boy, that when I see that.
Anyway, we will report from the White House on Wednesday about the big
Patrick's Day celebration.
I'll say hello to the president of Ireland. I'm going over there in May.
And happy said Patrick's Day. See you tomorrow.
