Bills Pass on Maxx Crosby, Sign Bradley Chubb

The Buffalo Bills made a strong push this off-season to trade for Las Vegas Raiders' defensive

end, Max Crosby, a five-time pro-bowl player.

But the deal never came together because the price was just too steep for Buffalo.

Raiders' General Manager John Spitek was asking for two first round draft picks at minimum.

The Ravens had agreed to that package earlier, but their deal fell apart after Crosby failed

a physical exam.

Bills' president Brandon Bean shared details in a recent interview explaining how the team

weighed the massive cost against their limited draft.

Even when the Ravens backed out, Buffalo couldn't bridge the gap without giving up way too

much.

Meanwhile, the Bills were also finalizing a trade with the Chicago Bears, sending their

20-26 second-round pick for White receiver DJ Moore, and a fifth-rounder.

That move left them short on ammo for the Crosby pursuit.

In the end, Buffalo passed on Crosby and signed free agent Bradley Chubb to boost their

past rush instead.

Fans might have loved Crosby, but passing on two first plus a second was the smart play.
