Billy Preston, hailed as the top Fifth Beatle by Rock Cellar magazine, brought soul, funk, and gospel vibes to the Fab Fours sound during their final years. Born in 1942, Preston first met the band in 1962 and later joined them for key sessions in 1969 at Apple Studios, co-credited on the single Get Back. His energy and style injected new life into their music, and he starred in the 1978 film Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Prestons joyful sound remains a bright thread in rock history, despite his passing in 2006.
