Blue Jays Option Top Pitching Prospects

0:00With the Toronto Blue Jays today, March 10th, the Toronto Blue Jays made some roster changes on Sunday by optioning top pitching prospects, Jig Bloss and Ricky Tideman to Triple A. Both have dealt with major arm surgeries. Bloss had Tommy John last season and might not pitch it all this year, though he could return later. Tideman missed all of last year after his own Tommy John in 2024 and faced some spring arm issues that checked out fine. Tideman remains a standout at just 23 years old. He's the number 5 prospect in the J-system and showed elite strikeout ability early on, fanning over 80 batters and limited innings back in. 20-23 The team still views him as a future starter, especially with rotation spots opening up soon as Kevin Galsman and Eric Lauer hit free agency after. 20-26 This season, they might ease him and carefully with innings limits, perhaps using short starts or even bullpen work to build him up for potential.
