The Toronto Blue Jays are shaping up their roster for the new season by resigning veteran

pitcher Max Sherzer to a one-year deal.

To open a spot on their 40-man roster, they placed in-fielder Ben Cowles on waivers, and

he was quickly claimed by the Chicago Cubs.

Earlier this week, the Jays added several key free agents like Dylan Cees and Cody Ponds
