Bobby Wagner: Free Agent Linebacker's Next Move

On March 20th, Bobby Wagner, the long-time Seattle Seahawks linebacker and future

Hall of Famer, remains a free agent this off-season.

The 35-year-old has racked up consistent honors, earning all pro-naz from 2014 through 2024,

and posted 100.

62 tackles just last season.

He first left Seattle after being released, signing with the Los Angeles Rams before

returning for one more year with the Seahawks.

And there, he spent the past two seasons with the Washington commanders, staying remarkably

healthy by missing just two games since 2015.

Team seemed wary of his age for an off-ball linebacker role, especially since Washington

wants to go younger at the position.

Meanwhile, Seattle has no immediate opening, with second team all pro-ernaz Jones, the

fourth anchoring the group alongside 26-year-old Drake, Thomas.

Wagner shines as a tackler and run defender, missing only 4.8% of attempts last year.

And he can pressure quarterbacks at times.

His coverage lags, though, allowing a high quarterback rating and career-worst yards

per catch.

A contender needing a short-term boost could still find value in his leadership and reliability,

cementing his place as one of Seattle's all-time.
