Bolton School Bubbles Up to Fight Strep Infections

On March 27, a primary school in Bolton has brought back class bubbles to curb the spread

of group A-strev infections after a few cases popped up.

Among students, this is at SS Osmond and Andrews Embrakement, where they're following

advice from the local infection control team to keep kids in their own groups and avoid

big mixings before the Easter break.

To play as safe, the school has canceled assemblies, mass services, the Easter production,

parents evening, and stay in play sessions for reception.

After school clubs are on hold too, and during breaks and lunch, children stick to their

class bubbles while still getting outdoor time.

Parents got a newsletter explaining the changes, noting how disappointing it is to miss

Easter fun, but stressing health comes first.

They reminded everyone about hand washing and covering coughs.

Head teacher Jim Graves echoed that, thanking families for their support and following

the guidance.

Health A-strev is a common bacteria in kids, often causing mild issues like sore throats,

fevers, rashes, or skin infections that clear a bed home in a few days.

Officials say most cases aren't serious, and schools handle these outbreaks with routine

prevention steps.

The measures should lift when school closes for Easter holidays on April 2nd, giving everyone

a chance to reset over the break.
