47:01Lord Simpson that said it last on on your program when he said that they are tricky or... I can't remember the... It wasn't tricky that he used, but it was something to do with the way that Chris Scott can set his team up and the way that they can play, which makes him a very difficult team to encounter. Yeah, well, um, I've had a good look at it too for the paper and written some stuff. So they play back in round 15, and it was a kind of narrative. I don't know whether you remember it can take you back to that game, but there was a narrative around, and I don't really subscribe to this, that Chris Scott and the Cats would keep in their power to dry, and that they were holding a bit back, and they didn't want to show their hand, because the likelihood was that they would play Freemano in the finals, and so then we went back and had a look at it, and there is a lot of things that will be different this time around. So there was no Bayley, there was no Tom Stewart in that game, so they didn't play. Since that time, you know, Manners developed into a genuine midfielder. Tener Bruins gone back, Cameron's become a bit more of a wildcard role player.

48:03Will Schulte might have played the whole of that game as a backman, and he'll come in and tag you say, so there will be... Will Schulte too, and the former will show... Will Schulte, he looks like he can really play. So there are lots of changes, and there's five changes to the team, in fact, that didn't play. So I don't really think they'll hold anything back, because I don't know whether you can guarantee you're going to play against Freemano anyway in the finals, as it turns out, they will. But, yeah, so there were some tricks that Freemano will have to confront. There is... Do you think the nervousness, Jared subscribes to this, and obviously I've got great respect for Jared. He said that when they arrived, and Simon said, this is well, when they arrived in the town for that game last weekend, they got this... The sense of the town was nervous, and the supporter base was nervous, and there was anxiety, and they reckon that it was able to be transferred onto the playing group. Do you subscribe to that? Yeah, I do. Do you? Yeah, I do. I think there's... Like, they lived in that... They lived in that for two weeks, so they had that bias.

49:04So they had... You know, they had all that expectation around them, all that confidence, probably, that they were building as a result of where they'd finished over the course of the season. You know, I think... I don't know... I don't know Justin... Lommie... At all. I look at him, and to me, he looks like somebody who doesn't embrace change, and at the chaotic nature of the game sometimes either. I think he likes to have a really settled look at the game, and I don't know that he doesn't exude confidence when he speaks. Now, this is just his manner. Okay, this is just my observation of him. Yep. When he speaks, he looks like he's very... Uh... Not... Not necessarily... He's always very measured, and I'm not saying that he's completely negative, but I would say, as a person, he looks to me to be a person who's more of the half-empty of the glass as opposed to the half-flip. I think that's harsh. Well, you might... Do you know him better than I do?

50:04Yeah. Yeah. And do you think that is harsh? Yeah, I think... I know people are in the box with him, and they say that he doesn't... He does like to have things very settled. Yeah. And he loves to be in full control. Yeah. And then if you look at some of the other coaching in this final series, even the Sydney Swans, their statistics in that game against Brisbane were completely different than what they've been doing all year. Chris Scott will probably come up with something completely different this time than what they've been doing. So, you think he's too predictable? I think there is a great... I think he loves to set the side up, and then he has this predictable way of playing, and he doesn't like the chains that might occur in the game, and he doesn't make a lot of changes. Even last week, against Hawthorne, he didn't make a lot of change during the course of the game. No, he didn't. Yeah, that is true. How does true? So maybe he has got supreme faith in what they've been able to do through the course of the year. I'm sure he has, and there's a lot of reason for that, but there comes a time at the point of the year when things are different than what you've had,

51:05and you've got less control over the way you're teams playing that you may need to implement change. Yeah, I think that's... And I don't know whether or not they've actually flurted enough with those ideas throughout the course of the year. To reasonable observation. I think that's fair. I don't think you're being unfair. I need the person out. I think he's got a reserve personality. You know, some people present differently in front of the cameras, from a media point of view, than others. Some people sell the club or sell themselves or sell what they're trying to do a bit more aggressively. I think what they've been able to achieve through the home and away season has been magnificent. And some of their victories where they've had to manufacture victories that come from behind suggest that he has got the capacity to change. But the pressure is going to mount and it's going to come. And they lost that game last week against last year or other. Against the Gold Coast Suns. They dominated the home and away season and now they're on the back foot straight away. So I think it's a brilliant. It's a brilliant game in terms of understanding exactly where that football club's at.

52:06Yeah. As your expectation, though, that they will boot you long or you don't have that expectation. Yeah, I'm picking them. I'm picking them. I'm, I've, I do, I'm like you, though. I'm picking Brisbane with a lot more confidence than I am with picking Fremantle because of the opposition. Adelaide have won their first final under Matthew Nixon. That's a great tick for them. Chris Goddard is, he's capacity to do what he's been able to do with this football side. In September, there's September's their second home. Now they live in September. Yeah. They love September. They've proven themselves in September. Fremantle have proven nothing under Justin in September. That's what the, that's why this game is so great. And that's a narrative coming in and they would be feeling that. But I suspect, I expect them to shrug a lot of that negativity off and just go after the game and play in the manner that has held them in great stead through the course of the home in the way it's losing. Now they may get, they may get turned around by the Chris Goddard in the coaching box. But that's why it's great. And then we'll find out how good a coach

And sometimes you do have to make some modifications on the run and maybe his, maybe his health stuff back, maybe their stuff that we haven't actually seen that their capable of producing because they've got, like they've got a lot of, they've got a lot of fire start of type players in that team. They aren't short on like super talented players that can just light up and change the course of the game. They've got plenty of those bikes in their team. Yeah. So who are you looking at? I'm looking, I'm looking to Shay Bolton. Yep. Shay Bolton is the premiership player. Yep. He's been there and done it. He's won two premierships for the Richland 40 Club. The reason they got him to the free-manor 40 Club is now. It's right this very minute is the reason they got Shay Bolton. He can be a presence, a calming presence in the room. Right? Okay, we lost that game. That's okay. It's not the end of the world. I don't know if that's his personality, whether he's that sort of a leader or he just goes out and plays. But he's influenced that he can have in this next few days in the lead up to this.

If you think that he's the best one and the one that could turn it on and change the course of the game for free-manor, is that where you're sending Oshin? To Shay Bolton or it's a great question. So the options are Bolton, Sarong and Murphy Reed. I think they're the three. My incasion is to send in a Murphy Reed, having seen what he did to Jagger Smith. So young men that haven't really been exposed to that sort of intense tagging. So Jagger has nine in the first quarter. Oshin has seven. Chris gots it's enough. I've seen enough of Jagger. Swings him over on the Jagger Smith, he goes two positions, three positions, when the game was won. So maybe, and Colton Tolstrop went to Murphy Reed at the MCG three or four weeks ago. The only time he's really been tagged and did a good job. What were you sending?

So physically, if he's okay physically, he's a physical player, he's combative, he's aggressive, he's competitive, he's focused, he's professionally placed to win. He's an inside mid. I think he'd be great in the locker room for that S and a group of players that they have right now. The challenge that he would create is the same challenge that the selectors at Melbourne have had. And that is, he's not a quick, spread type midfielder. And as soon as the moment don't have a lot of quick midfielders either, outside of Darum you know, they've got a lot of guys that are really good players, they're not slow, slow, but they're not really break the line type players either. So it's a combination of players, obviously, that you have to play in the midfield. So you've got to look at that combination.

58:09I think for all the other intangibles that he brings, I think we're there at right now, what they're trying to build, how they're trying to reset themselves as a team and as a club. So when they've won, they beat the swans, kept into 71. They kept Melbourne to 72. They kept you long to 74. You know, my thoughts on Brisbane's defence. So the bottom line is Brisbane's defence gives up goals, gives up scores, but they think their offense is dangerous enough to win. Well, their offense is going to run into a very, very good defence in the Adelaide Crows. So there's kind of the game.

1:01:11I think they'll get there. I think the midfield might separate them in the end for the Brisbane Lions, but you can make a great case for the Adelaide Crows. Yeah, you can. I've been up the Yara Valley for a couple of days and the rest of the time I've been in Melbourne doing a few things. I know you're not going to the 49ers Rams going to Morrow but you're telling me a story off the air about somebody that you've been, well, a wine maker from the Barossa. Who's here with his family? Yeah. Massive fans? Yeah, I'm, then in a fell, you know, you've guys been talking about it all week, how extraordinary it is and supporters have come out of the woodwork. And this guy I didn't realize was an NFL or a 49ers fan but the whole family is over. Yesterday the merchandise, 400 bucks each. They spend on the kit and their little clear plastic bags.

1:08:28So it's quite incredible for the town that all these people coming out of the woodwork. Have you got a trailer at all? Because there's a lot of people saying they're happy to back up the trailer to Brunt and Avenue to collect this turf. I reckon that's one of your best ideas. And in fact, we're being told not the first time the Americans have brought grass out to Australia given snow dog was in residence as well. Bang, bang, bang. And yes, all the paint whisp is from the US including all the stencils they brought it all out. Right. Old anyway. Can you find out what they're going to do with the turf? It has to go somewhere. That's a lot of turf. Big good for a couple of ships. I'm sure George knows a couple of vineyards that could do with some nice turf. Yeah. I know, at the beginning of the AFL season there was something a few years ago and we spoke about the fact that they're going to do these big blocks of turf that they bring in and they're going to relay in that type of thing. And I said at the time because I've had a landscaping background, an extensive landscaping background and we used to lay a lot of turf about how difficult it was to get it laid George and get it all leveled and that type of thing used to take moose and eye.

1:09:29A couple of months they get it all nice tickety boob but they laid it that way. They played that weekend and you would not have known. It was unbelievable the way that they can execute that. So there's a massive amount of turf that's got to come up after this game. There's going to be relayed for the final of the following week. So I don't think there's any concern about that part of it though, Sam. All right. Well, there's a lot of questions coming through. Do we just peppy with questions here George? Have you got your own stuff you want to get to? Because the questions are pouring in. Well, no, there is one question about I read the other day that France because of the conditions over there the far. All that sort of thought. I read the other day that this is going to be maybe there was vintage on record, France. Having just come back from there, yes. So we had obviously smoke in the board over region which probably has affected the vineyards from a smoke tank point of view. But more broadly, very dry, very hot, very early vintage will be small volumes. And small berries. Very small berries, which of course will impact both quality and volume.

1:10:29But it was really the acceleration of the vintage that was really wiring them all, that they're going to be so early. So they're going to be picking three or four weeks earlier than normal. Is Snoop still, is he's wine still being distributed here in Australia? Yes, he's still. Is it still selling well? Still going well, yeah, yeah, absolutely. Somebody out there's got an episopino. Combo. 2015. 2015 that they've saved. I'd be drinking it now. You've drunk some pino from episopino at a little bit of age, aren't you? Yeah, I reckon 15's ready to drink now. Open that up during the finals. Right. Hey, George, it's about time you go to big rap to Zonzo Estad in the Aero Valley. This pino or their pino is outstanding for a mid-20 bucka. That's from Greg in South, in Corpial South. Yeah, no Greg, Zonzo wines are very, very good. Good setup out there as well. If you're out in the Aero Valley, it's well worth visiting. 1:11:30Look for maybe Pauley. Joe Holliman makes a beautiful pino from up the northern part, maybe Tolpuddle. Pino will be around $100 mark. So look for Tazzy. Look for 23 vintage if you can find it. Pauley's good. Good pizzas at Pauley too. You set yourself up there on the slope, looking down into Richmond. Oh, that's good. Mr. Tasman, yeah. They have to take the recruits team just to wine and on the mat to Pauley. Well, Devils Corn is the new partner of the Tazzy Devils. So I think that's where all the recruits will be going. Oh, Devils Corn. There's somebody out there that's bought some of the ramble-free, which is a magnificent drop. Nobody is going to be disappointed with this wine, but they want to know when it's going to be delivered. After September 22, as we communicated at the time, so they will start going out after the 22nd, so depending where you are, you'll receive it sometime in the week that follows 22nd. And this person's still waiting on George's review of Cam Zuhar's Puno. That's from Ains in Aubrey. Have you not had a drop of that?

1:12:30I haven't had a drop of it. I haven't been able to find a bottle of it. So whoever that was, get me a bottle of wine and I'll give you the review. I'd love to see his label. Derek and his business creative. It's creative with his label, as he has been with his tattoos on his body. Yeah. He's like a walking... You know, Michael Baskier. He's like a walking Michael Baskier. I thought he was a meat barbecue man. He's all of that. No, he's all of that. Oh, right. He's perfect. Ask George if Mount Mary still makes the best red in the Yarra Valley. Be close. Mount Mary Yarra Yearing. Yeah, Mount Mary is pretty close to the best. It's great, great. But I got a soft spot, I'll say, for what Yarra Yearing's doing. And we have... Often we talk about French wine and other wines, but we've got some unbelievable wines here in Australia, like right across Australia. We produce some amazing wine. We do. We do. I think the diversity in Australia has never been better, and there is a bit of a push at the moment for... Maybe a little bit more support from some of the venues around the country that are maybe still lopsided with too much imported wine, yet Australia is making some of the best wines in the world.

1:13:33He's a broader question from Mal on the grain loader, George. I work in the grain business. It's been a bumper harvest this year. Is it the same for wine this season? This year's vintage 26, which was obviously February March April May, was a mixed one. So South Australia probably had smaller volumes again. It was fairly dry, but not as dry as it was last year. Then other states Western Australia had a pretty good vintage. So it's not related, but there is no doubt that all our crops were affected by the weather. So that's the number one business partner in the wine industry. And different parts of Australia have different conditions. So you can end up being over in WA, Marko River. You might have the best season that you've ever had, the best finish that you've ever had. And then over here on this side of Australia, because of the weather conditions, it might be a poor harvest. Yeah, that's right. And I think if you're looking at the last five years, probably Marko River has probably been one of the most consistent regions. It's evidenced by, if you look at the wine shows, which are really important still as a good indicator of wine, a lot of the trophies are still being won by Marko River Cabinay.

1:14:34I know why you've been ghosting me lately, because you've been hosting... Oh, thank you. ...the wonderful host, M. Sir, if you don't mind, at the Pennfolds Grange Lunds last week. So, for you, exactly the best one to round. So friendly knowledgeable, we're told, he made the day, we're... Oh, Jesus, that one here, that's nice. And, and the only criticism I have, Sammy, of the modern generation is that you can say these things and not attribute them to anyone. Didn't you ever do that? And there about his daughter working at Fox and how tough it was on her and all that sort of stuff. He, he's a good hater, Clarko. I like the, you won't believe this, but I do like Clarko. Yeah. And we get on well, but I just thought it was, he's an emotion. He's emotionally fired charge. Correct. And I don't think 24 hours later was the right time to do it. That's right. That's the best advice you can sometimes get for somebody. He said count to 10. Yep. Maybe count to 100. Yeah. Maybe 1000. Maybe do it. I really think about it again. And still have a think about it. 1:25:56Okay. So you, during that period of time, so let's say 30 say, say 50 years, around 50 years, you were writing about people in this town and what they're doing. You had to write some very critical things about participatory. Very critical. And I said to say, it's amazing though. You are mates with all these people who you would have been potting. Literally for 20, 30 years of their existence in the game. And they all still like you. How have you managed that pottings of instruction? You've had to write some very critical, constructive pieces of it. Where are we? But how have you managed that? I don't know the answer to that. I do think that people thought that I was in journalistic terms, fair. You know, that I would speak to them about a story that I was writing. And hopefully that it was balanced. I mean, I was watching TV one night with Luke on Luke Hodges' footage show. And he said that. He said how I'm like, one to retire, man, all that sort of stuff. And then he's, and I feel I squirm a bit about that because you need to talk about an all time grade.

1:27:01And he said he was right. And Nick Rewald has said something similar to me. So, but I did have a pond shunt for potting the big blokes. Did I ever pot you? Yeah, you did. Did I? But in a nice, in a nice sort of a way. So how do you pot someone nicely? Well, the headline read if memory serves me correctly because it didn't really stay with me. Why all the doubters? Really? But anyway, like put that to one side. So what do you think? Do you try and patch up the differences with people? Or does it just happen by course? Oh, no, no, no, action. I would probably ideally try to patch them up. But there's a lot that I've missed out on. You say I'm friends with all these folks. There's plenty of books that would disagree with that. Right. How long would the list be? I know a couple on the list, but how long would the list be? Well, take us a while to get through it. Is there one that you would like to make good with? What do they, I'm not saying you're sly awake at night thinking about it, but is there one you would like to tie, tie it off with?

1:28:02There's probably many, yeah. I mean, I don't care about Roger Merritt. I had a big falling out with that wouldn't worry me because I didn't have a great respect for Roger. Even though he was teammate of yours. So that didn't trouble me. Peter Dacos, did you have a full air duct? We're okay now. You're good now though. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jacko. Without that right, Jacko. Okay. I'm talking about you mentioned good players. Right. Would you, would you have left to myself watching that clip the other day, the infamous open mile you found yourself. No. Despite Stephen Corden mains saying it was all get up for rating, all got up for rating. He's in your black book too. No, he's not called us. No, no, no, you forget. No, I actually can move on from that. Yeah. Okay. So I brought it up. You brought it up. It was lots of people. You brought it up quickly then because Jacko's name came up. Did you know what was comfortable? When did you expect, when did you just get rid of these listings?

1:29:04He's in the car. When did you suspect something was up with Jacko? Right. As he did it or just before. No, just beforehand because Libby, the makeup girl, cast makeup artist, quick, came on and said to Mark, can I have you water bottle, please? The floor's got to be clean for that show. Yeah. And he said, no, I'm going to keep it. And my fear was that he would take the top off when the camera started rolling and tip it over me, which would have been the ultimate indignity in my mind. I would have rather impunched me than do that. But anyway, she prevailed and she got the water bottle and then we started and then he just went off on his tyre ride. He was in a mood, wasn't he? Yeah, he was. But I did that as well as I thought I could. Yeah. Was that live live or could that have been edited? No, in fact, Tim, what Fox said to me was as soon as it finished because they can sit on closed circuit there, they said, we're not running that. I said, we've got to run it. You can't invite someone in and say, we don't like what they said.

1:30:05So we're not going to run it. I said the only condition that I'd put on it is that we've run it in its entirety so that people can make their own mind. Yeah. Good on you. Yeah. And it went the odd time of about 40 minutes. Right. Right. Tim's right though. Journalism is, as you know, I'm not telling you anything. You don't know. It's about relationships though. And every time I log on to your Instagram, there you are, you know, rubbing shoulders with people that you would have had some furious. We're big noting. Well, I saw Nick Marvel at that. I saw Nick at a junior footy going there. But my relationship with Nick was always a cabiler. I don't have it. I don't apologize for sort of being critical of the big names. I mean, I may be, I think I probably attacked it with a bit more release than I needed to. But I think it's, that's why I'm so keen on Cain Corns as a commentator because he makes you think his provocative, he backs his stuff up with research. So I like him because I consider that how I'm going to say, it's a big call that, but you know, it's probably right. No, he's great.

1:31:06He does a great job. But he's an analyst like journalists now. You touch on it just off the top though. Where do you think it's going? Do you like the direction it's going? You said that the reliance on sources and the, I guess the clickbait nature and social media has changed so much. All the things that weren't around when you were in your prime. I'm a newspaper journalist, right? Even though I branched into other areas, I'm fundamentally a newspaper journalist. Nothing newspapers are dead. Right. I mean, we've, they're not as relevant as well. No, that's where. And the most respected journal in Melbourne is the age in my view. And on Saturday mornings, so I love the Saturday age, Saturday mornings I picked a paper up and they can't tell me who won the game the night before. It's in front of 80,000 people. Yeah. I thought, how can you have a morning paper not being able to tell you what the biggest of in town was last night? Good point. Good. Yeah. Deadlines are brutal now. Now, nothing holds now. Like back, you used to be able to sit on a story for hours upon hours upon hours. And it would hold until the morning. Just doesn't hold now. No, for five minutes. No, no, no, five seconds. There's good. No, the other day when the swan story broke, someone said,

1:32:09she's a bitch and miss, miss the papers. You would have loved to burn in the middle. No, no, no, no. And I said, no, I mean, this just reinforces my views. I know. I made the right decision. Why is that what he said that? Because it's too competitive. But I'm a long man now. It's different. It was competitive in your order, but it was essentially just one or two or three people going out at back in your order. You, Carro, you would have had Jake around at others. And now, and now there's probably what? 20 people see girls on a chin. Yeah. And the electronic mediums have taken over haven't they? I mean, people get these stories up 10 minutes after the news breaks. Mm-hmm. They do. Yeah, they do. It's so nice. It's a midch clearing. It's an insatiable beast now. It is. Yeah, it is. All right. I'm going to get your thoughts on the Sydney stuff too. We need to probably spend a little bit of time on that. There's a lot of big stories since you're in a debating Gorn V. Simon. There's a lot of big stories of it this year that Jolongkin, Kushel Waver was another one. So there's there's stacks to unpack.

1:33:09All right. And also, I just want to ask you a question about this because you're on air talking 40. It's a 2050 year since the two towers of twin towers came down in America. It was a brilliant performance and what it did is exposed all those people who rushed to the moral high ground when something like the Pullman incident happened. Malcolm Knox, Andrew Webson, those folks saying that the swans have fraudulently created this picture of this culture that they have, which is not real anyway. Well, we're right to question the culture after. No, no, not for me. Four blocks went off the rails. That's all. But that's four guys. Yeah. There's 45 on the list. That's a quarter of your time. So what do you mean? No, no, I thought it was a gross exaggeration of the problems that existed at this one. So when it's tied to the fact that Dan Cox and his coaching staff are out until midnight after a game and all that sort of stuff and get in touch, they can't just...

1:35:12Yeah. And they played in the game that finished today the clock at night. Yeah. I mean, actually there would be... Could you imagine horse out on the road? So I went for an Uber one in the morning after... Who did that? I think it was a mix. Dan Cox. Did he? Didn't they just eat up in Richmond and walk back? They had a meal earlier in the night, yeah. And for that period of time, their culture has been smashed and those that had even played their talk about... Yeah. The end of their culture, that type of thing.

1:36:12But if you look at how they've been able to regather themselves and reset themselves in that short period of time, and then when that last game and then when the final game, I think that goes to the heart of a culture that was built over a long period of time. Exactly. And how powerful and sustainable it is. Couldn't agree more. That's precisely my point about that. That this thing about... We've all been duped because of the swans pretending to have this culture. Now, the culture to me was exemplified when they played the last home and away around against... North Melbourne. Which in fact, in my view, cost Clark O'Ease career, that game, because North Melbourne was so encipient. But anyway, at the end of the game, Errol Goulden and... There's another player, both in tears. Oh, yeah, Elin Rapil's. And Rapil was too. Yeah, and those things... That's what a culture is. The bloke's been so concerned about the fate of their football club and the damage to with their reputation... That they were brought to tears. No, I agree with that. I agree with that. Yeah. And we'll go back to what we did a couple weeks ago in terms of the buzz, the butt, and the breakout for each side ahead of the semifinal week.

1:43:25So with Fremantle and we'll start with the buzz and it's obviously around their stoppage stuff. They just don't win stoppages. They weaponize them. I think it was really interesting and we had this Chris Goddard, you know, off the top in terms of, you know, what they did last time. So if you go back to round 15 and you know, I heard Gaz talking about this coming into a nose smith and Stuart, mullin and O'Connor didn't tag. They look on face value, it looked like they hold a little bit back. So going into tomorrow night, what is your plan for Fremantle around stoppage? And if you look at Fremantle, they are the best side at getting into out of congestion and the second best side at putting a clearance onto the scoreboard. And I'll drop a little bit of an exclusive today. The first time in champion data history, we can analyse how sides exit a stoppage. So you can either go in four directions and I won't get into the mathematicians of it, but you can either go out the front, boundary side, corridor side, or out the back. So it's the first time we've explored this data and it's pulling out some really good insights.

1:44:25When Fremantle go out the front of stoppage and it obviously has a higher correlation with scoring, they are the best side in the competition at putting that onto the scoreboard. And look at the plays in and around stoppage in terms of, you know, dubbed them the Midas Touch. So when they start a clearance chain, how often they score off the back of it, their team score. Bolton is number one in the competition. Caleb Sarong is number two in the competition. So what is your plan for these two players? I think it's inevitable that mullin goes to Sarong and then I look, you know, probably O'Connor, you know, gets the Murphy Reed matchup. Okay. So is this what Hawthorne employed last week against them? Yeah. In terms of, they actually probably went head to head more so in and around, you know, clearance with them. Hawthorne's four and a half work really trumped, you know, that whole game that they won it back in their four and a half of the ground. They really stifled the dockers ball movement. What about Alex Pierce? You got him written down here as a break out? Yeah. In terms of the word break out, you know, it's a bit, you know, not necessarily a break

1:45:27out, you know, a young emerging player. This is someone who's already a star. But I think he's hit another gear in finals as such. So you look at Alex Pierce and I think if you take him out of the dockers defense, the whole equation changes behind the ball. So look, he's played, you know, in his last two finals, he's won 11 in a seps last week. He won 10 in a seps the week before, you know, he rarely gets beaten in a one-on-one contest. He has a really high one-on-one win rate. I think it's really important that Shananeel has to equalize that matchup tomorrow night. I think Alex Pierce is everything to frame in or behind the ball and we saw that last week if it's essentially Pierce or Bus. It is. No, behind the ball. Marbio Child was fantastic last week. His direction must have been wherever you do bring the ball to ground like he fought to bring the ball to ground and he did for most of the night too. Now, Corey, you got a full book here. You got the cats ahead of us, Brisbane and Adelaide of course. So we're all in action this weekend. And Mike, I know you got a long list of questions for Corey. So let's just get this commitment out of the way and let you loose on Corey. Because I know you've written down a heap of questions that you're talking about.

And they are. They've basically turned an AFL game into half court football essentially. And you look at the numbers and you really have to see it to believe in terms of the numbers they invest in their four and a half of the ground. Really evident last week, they won the ball back 29 times in their four and a half of the ground had 16 scores from four and a half in a set, which was their third best return in a final this century. So keep an eye on that for for tomorrow night because the doggers do cough it up. Well, did cough it up in their back half. Patty Daines you got known coaches votes last weekend.

1:47:28He was great in the preling final last year and then he was quiet in the grandfile and Chris Scott said he had a corky. But you've got some stats there that may lead to great doubt about Patty being out of back up again after last weekend. Yeah. So I really want to lean on everyone and obviously the text line really interested to know everyone's thought. So last week was obviously a reminder that Patrick Daines, field of remote, no remains. The AFL's great game breakup. But can he produce another masterpiece and again, and listen to pretty sure it's Vossie who always goes, the champions have these games in them. Sometimes they're just few and far between. So I went back and had a look at Dangerfield's record after having a really big performance. 2025 preliminary final and come with me. He was no one rated player on the ground. He backed it up. He was a 39 rated player on the ground in the grand final last year. 49 early this year was a top six rated player on the ground. The following week he was outside the top 40 round 13 against Adelaide in the wet. He went berserk around contest and clearance.

1:48:30Number seven rated play on the ground. The following week outside the top 30 number, around 70 against Brisbane. They lose down the highway. He was phenomenal. Capt him in that game. Number one rated play on the ground outside the top 40 the following week and the cut and the current performance last week as we know. Number two rated player on the ground behind Sean Manor. How many bullets does he have to fire? And you look at him last week, it was his seventh final with over 20 rating points. That's the second most bienniply in a final series only behind Dusty. For me, they've managed him to an inch of his life throughout the season and his form from limited game time has been off the charts. I think they've primed him for a really big final series. I can see him just continually backing up, backing it up, but I'd love to know your thoughts. Can I ask you a question off from that? Because I'm not caught up in the stats as much as a lot of people are. Can you explain to me what the pressure factor is? The pressure factor. I have no idea how you come to a conclusion on that.

1:49:30It's quite a hard one to probably talk about on air. But in terms of every pressure act has a form of weighting. What denotes a pressure act? So in terms of you know, you can have a physical pressure act. You can have a corralling pressure act, a closing pressure act, a set position pressure act. They're all assigned different values. So essentially we take all that, average it out, and that comes to the pressure factor number in really quick and short terms. Corey, we apologize because I leave a lot on the table today. But just maybe a key point on Brisbane and Adelaide who we need to cover off as well. Yeah. So with Brisbane in terms of I think one player who's, you know, I think he probably needs to see it going. You're looking him after round 9-1. He was the top 60 rated player in the competition. Since round 20 he rates outside the top 250 and that's Darcy Wilmott. So he's one who's just come off the cent a little bit in the back half of the season. You look at his last six games. He's been a top 20 rated player on the ground once.

1:50:30His average 280 metres gained in this period of time. Look he could be tasked with the Josh Rochelle matchup. I think he's one who you know, you know, his final form has actually been quite good in the past. He's just come slightly off the cent. I think he's, you know, a big, a prime for a big performance. You give Adelaide a chance at all in this game. Is there anything statistically that you like about them against the Brisbane Lions? What I will say, I think the anxiety around interstate sides travelling in a final should be put to bed. So if you look at the last two final series, the interstate side record in a final is 7 and 3. So you look at that. Well, Hawthorne Breet beat Freeman on the weekend. Brisbane travelled to the MCG twice last year, prelim in Grand Final. Obviously won those games. Hawthorne beat Adelaide last, you know, final series, Gold Coast beat Freeman or Hawthorne beat GWS. The list goes on. There's 7 and 3. The 3 years prior to that, it was 8 and 15. Why that has swung. I'm not entirely sure about. But that anxiety around travelling interstate and, you know, in terms of Adelaide's chances

1:51:33this week's, I think they need to bring that game into the trenches. And turn it into, you know, a really big scrap fest. I'm not completely ruling them out, but I think they're up against it. But I can definitely make a case for their accuracies off the charts. Tim, the focus on stats. You, in that group? Yep, you are. Yeah, totally. Yep, yep. I like the eye test, which I still think stands up. But then in terms of being able to look at it in a more critical way and a more complex way about why and who and that type of thing, I'm a step-man, yeah. Yeah. And I, Cory, wanted to talk about this, but the one thing that he don't need stats for is, for me, I've got to have a plan for Tom Stewart, Mark. He's got to have some locked away for Tommy. Well, we took, these folks get talked about like the world's great sizes of coaching panels. How come these things just go week by week? And they kick it to Mexico, one of the kick it to Tom Stewart. And all these same things recur. And they're supposed to be the masterminds. Yeah. Well, you look at Stewart last week.

1:52:33I thought when that margin got out to 21 points, like he was really keeping Jolong in it. He was magnificent. He was huge in that first half. He had three in the seps. Sorry, he had seven in the seps. Look, Vosgoddy's color's lowered last week by Sicily in a big way. Do they potentially flirt with that match up? So I think, like you said, similar to off the top, Chris Scott's going to come prepared with Malano Conner. What do you have to throw back at him in terms of shutting down to Tom Stewart? I think he's one that you're standing out. I don't think Vosgoddy's smart enough to care. Yeah, they're two big Tim, who, three oh. They haven't been for most of the year. No, they look like none of their big guys fired last weekend. So that was a bad example of their three big forwards. But for most of the year, they've been more than capable getting the job done.
