We got Baldy, we got basketball,
and we got Broncos football to talk about on today's show
live from the farmhouse at Breckenridge, Brewery, and Man.
We are the DMVR Broncos podcast.
It smells so good in here.
Fellas, how are we doing?
It smells like we need a fresh pour.
Oh, it really does.
I mean, it's very tempting.
I love this place.
The farmhouse is such a viby place to be.
Yeah.
And it's, I mean, it's called the farmhouse for a reason
because it feels like you're like so far away,
but it's only like 15 minutes drive
from almost downtown Denver.
Yeah, great spots for the kids to run around out back.
You got all sorts of games.
You or they can play.
This isn't a place to hang out all summer.
Are you saying Henry should be running around right now?
Yeah, let's go get Henry some giant jenga.
I do like the giant jenga.
What other games do you think they have?
It looks like like somebody had a corn hole.
Oh, I've got a time.
I do like corn hole.
Long darts.
Which kind?
I don't know.
Dangerous?
Safe ones, probably.
I played the dangerous kind last summer.
Aren't those huge darts?
No, we play with like just like real darts.
Yeah, but they might have them too.
But they're not like the things aren't like this big.
The needles.
No, no, no, no, no.
That's a long darts.
The thing is that they just throw darts at people's beers.
Right.
Oh, that's long darts.
That's the way I play.
Yeah, that's as soon as I get like three beers in me,
I'm thinking like, I could just go first, but right now.
I think they've got Polish horseshoes.
Don't know what that is.
Really?
No, is that is not that not horseshoes?
Oh, they're a horse.
No, it's not like horseshoes at all.
The horse have different beat.
No, you basically the original version of the game
is you take two ski poles.
You put them, I don't know, 25, 30 feet apart.
Then you set beers on top of them.
And then you take a like an ultimate Frisbee disc
and you throw it.
And then if you knock the beer off, you get points.
I love that, man.
And I'm just looking at this avalanche amber ale.
And then we got the Palisade peach,
which is it is very much that time right now.
On tap, they got a spring forward grapefruit IPA.
I mean, all of these are calling my name.
So get down here to the farmhouse this summer, this weekend.
I mean, got basketball, March Madness is back tonight.
Can't wait to get in on that.
But we still got Broncos ball to talk about.
And let's dive in to this conversation.
So we're going to have a lot to cover today.
We're going to talk to Baldi in just a couple of minutes.
He's going to tell us what move is next for the Broncos.
And we'll talk about that after we talk to Baldi.
But first, let's dive in to power rankings on the AFC
and see where the Broncos land.
And Dion's got a great graphic for us
where we can track it all and where we have the Broncos going.
So let's dive in.
Do we go one to 16?
Sure.
16 to one is really hard.
That would be hard.
We'll end up with the Titans at number four
because we hadn't used them yet.
And yeah, so we'll go one to 16.
So my question to you guys are the Broncos one?
Maybe.
Wow.
Yes, they are number one.
For a second, I had the Ravens number one
when they had Max Crosby.
But then as soon as Max Crosby left, Broncos number one.
So then you never had the Ravens number one.
Well, there was that time when it wasn't official,
but we all thought it was happening.
And that's when I had the Ravens in front.
But now, no, it's Broncos number one.
Really quick.
Since you mentioned Max Crosby,
it seems like now he's going to stay a raider.
Yeah.
Is that good for the Broncos?
Is it bad for the Broncos?
It is good for the Broncos.
He's not on a contender.
He's on a terrible team.
It's a trash franchise.
That'll always be a terrible team in a trash franchise.
Yeah.
And he's stuck there forever.
But you have to play him twice now.
Doesn't matter.
Would you rather play Max Crosby twice on the Raiders this year
or once against the Ravens in the playoffs?
Twice on the Raiders.
Because of what he said.
You know that you're in the playoffs.
Is the scary part with number one in the power rankings?
Right.
Oh, yes.
But those are just the power rankings.
No, this is very obvious.
Bonyx owns the Raiders.
Doesn't matter who they put out there.
Yeah.
He's not lost.
Has he?
To the Raiders, no.
I think the Raiders are going to be two and four
in the AFC West this year.
And without Max Crosby, I would have said one in five.
So there's like one in three chance, I guess,
that now they get a win over the Broncos.
Yeah.
So let's look at the other options for number one.
We don't need to be talking about the team that's
probably last in the power rankings.
We'll get that.
We'll get that.
So Henry mentioned the Ravens in that conversation.
Yep.
Didn't make the playoffs can't be first in the power rankings.
I was going to say I don't have them in the competition
for being one either.
They didn't do anything in the AFCs,
and that makes you say like, oh my God, they did for a second.
They did for a second.
And then they got to a handkerchief.
And Tray Hendrickson's a good player, but it's not like that.
But he doesn't take you from out of the playoffs to number one.
And also with them, they have a whole new coaching staff.
I think they lost the most starters in free agency among anyone.
So that's why they dropped for me.
OK.
The Chiefs.
No.
Didn't make the playoffs.
I mean, we have no idea what's up with their quarterback.
Unfortunately, he's getting glazed for throwing a football.
Yeah, I think that I wasn't going to glaze him,
but I was going to say I viewed that as encouraging for them.
Everyone says you can get to 85% after that ACL tear pretty quickly.
It's just the rest that's hard.
I think you're starting week one.
All right.
Now, again, is he, well, what my home's is he, though?
Like, if he was last year's my home's before the injury, OK, fine.
It's not the scary my home's that we saw three years ago.
Yeah, so maybe he's going to be worse.
Yeah, and I agree.
So I'm not, I'm not, no, they didn't make the playoffs last year.
My home's is going to be coming off this injury.
No, the ultimate power ranking darlings, the Buffalo Bills.
That's my number two.
That's my number two.
They are the ultimate.
They are the ultimate.
They just sound so good on paper.
But in the Josh Hounds seems so good on paper.
And they got a receiver for him in this off season two.
Yeah, and they would have won the Super Bowl this year
if not for the Broncos.
Seahawks might have gotten them.
Seahawks would have beat him.
Do you think Seahawks beat him?
Yeah.
Anyways, they're the big competitor for me for this.
And the Broncos just beat them head to head in the playoffs game.
There's our most recent memory of them.
Other than the fact that their fans are whiny babies,
which is also a memory I have of them.
And also new coach?
Yep, that can't.
I don't think that gives you immediate help.
I don't know.
No, I agree.
I agree.
Even like the mood.
I'm thinking a little step back, at least initially.
So that's why Broncos won Bills 2.
We still have more candidates that we have to go through here.
The Patriots?
Nope.
I think they're, I think they're a candidate to be there.
But no, I'm not a candidate.
If I hadn't seen anything that happened after the end
of the regular season, then I could be tempted to put them
up in like that top tier.
But after, I mean, they're just not.
They're just not that good.
That's kind of crazy to say, though,
because they did go and make it to the Super Bowl
after the regular season.
Exactly.
You watch them here a lot.
Yeah, I'm really lucky.
I think so, you wouldn't even put them
as a contender for one.
No, I think one is very clear.
OK, and so that, I think that is the end
of the list of contenders.
Chargers, some people might throw in there.
Because Ryan, this is Power Rankings
for the regular season week one, or like the off season
right now, they're also pretty good at being
a darling in Power Rankings, or regular season.
Day two and training camp when everyone on their team goes down.
Or when they're running away with the division in the first month
and everyone, including us, just concedes the division to them.
Not me.
That's that.
I've never conceded anything good.
I don't know.
We have to go check the tape on that one.
Please, please do.
I'm pretty sure everyone just said, like,
it's their division right now.
And then, of course, the chargers
charged and lost the massively they have.
Yep.
Yeah, so I mean, I wouldn't put them into your one at all.
No.
And then the other one, I mean, I certainly
I wouldn't put them into your one, but I think anytime you have any
lead quarterback, you have to mention them as being a top team as the bangles.
And what they've missed the playoffs.
Two straight years.
Two years in a row.
Two fought.
They lost Tray Hendrickson.
And they do have Joe Burrow.
I mean, that's the only reason I mentioned is Joe Burrow
in the two weapons he has.
But Joe Burrow feels like he just doesn't care that much anymore.
Oh, he didn't last year when the season was basically dead.
I got when I've gotten the vibe like that from it's when they're just screwed regardless.
Yeah, I think fresh season, but Joe might be different enough years
and Cincinnati will break a man.
That's true.
I think he's broken.
That's true.
I spent one night in Cincinnati and I thought I was broken after that one,
especially after that game.
So I mean, I kind of agree with, wait, before we just put the Broncos at one,
let's say we were a bad pot.
Let's say we were a Ravens podcast or something and make in the case four
or against the Broncos, what would you say against the Broncos?
There's only really one thing you can't say, I think, which is that they lost JFM.
And then I think there's one other thing that you could say.
I think it's the close games because it seems like when people want to knock the Broncos,
they point to the chiefs two years ago and say the chiefs were just like the Broncos,
the best in one score games and then look what happened last year with the chiefs
that completely flipped on them.
And this is the directions of the Broncos.
That's very fair.
I'm just saying what they might say, but I think that I think it's more so
that Bonix's clutch and has that and that's not just a one year wonder thing.
And outside of that, I think the Broncos got better this off season.
They lost JFM, but they got JLNW and they needed more explosion on offense.
So I honestly, I think that's the only case.
Only in the NFL off season can winning close games be a bad thing.
Right.
That's looking at last year, too, where it's like the question is what are they going
to do this year, not what should have happened last year, you know?
And so when you say like, well, they certainly have one of the three best defenses in the NFL.
We all think there's a good chance it's just the best defense in the NFL.
And then you say the run game should be good enough.
Bow took huge steps last year.
He looks like maybe not Joe Burrow or Patrick Mahomes, but there's no longer a question of like,
I don't know.
Is he going to be good enough to go in 14 games?
Like he has done that.
And you say like you added JLNW.
So that's what I just think when you look at what they are on paper, they should be the best team.
Yeah, exactly.
It was no longer one hit wonder last year.
That was a question like, did he just luck into a playoff spot?
No, because then he took his game up from being a wild card to being the number one seed.
So I think that, you know, trying to remove orange colored glasses, I still put the Broncos
at one right now.
And what I'll say is guys, I did some research just to see like, you know, if the nation would
agree with us.
I looked at ESPN, Fox Sports, two other national power rankings, and four out of the five
that I found just doing the AFC power rankings had the Broncos number one in the AFC.
Now, they did not have number one in the NFL.
They all of those had, it was Seahawks and then Rams one and two and then the Broncos
at three.
And so since we're only doing AFC, that's exactly what we have to.
So it is not just being Homer right here and ESPNation had the Broncos behind the chiefs,
which was crazy.
Um, a team, again, we talked about them, but, uh, so I don't, I don't think we're being
Homer's here.
Broncos at number one.
And I think we can put that in stone right now, Deon.
Let's do it.
So my home's is how many months removed from that injury?
Three.
He's a hundred days.
So yeah.
Just over three.
Yeah.
I'm not moved.
Good.
Henry, how do you feel about it?
I think he's starting week, I think he's starting week one.
I mean, if not, then right around there, not, I, he's going to be there for the bulk
of the season.
And that's going to be good enough for them.
Good enough for a playoff spot.
Yeah.
Was it last year?
Yeah.
That was last year.
It was not last year.
It was last year.
They got rid of their best.
This your, this your second best fighter.
Miss the playoffs.
And who else was in there?
And the Steelers missed the playoffs and all that.
I, I, I'm not going to get too caught up in last year's results.
Okay.
I think one was pretty easy for us.
Oh, yeah.
I think two through four, three through six are really hard.
And I think that's actually a good thing for the Broncos.
Let's continue this conversation on the other side.

Yeah, yeah.
Man, this place is so cool.
Even like the lights here are cool.
Have you looked at this fixture?
That is.
Lights are wrapped around some wood hanging down.
So make sure to get out here.
They're officially open right now.
And OK, let's die back in to this power ring.
Because we got one spot.
We got 15 more to fill.
Henry, you said you're going to bills it too, so right?
Easy pick to me.
I don't even know who else would be in that tier.
Ryan, do you have any other ideas?
No, it's bills.
All right, let's put the bills in.
Add to now, I think, is where it gets really interesting.
Because I think there are division winners in here,
and also teams that don't make the playoffs in here in this tier.
Because it is so wide open.
I'm sure national people will put the chiefs here.
I think I personally think the chargers could be here.
Some people might put the cults here
with how they looked in the first half of the season.
Last year, I'm not putting them there.
I feel like you have a lot of last season first half bias.
No, I'm just pointing out what happened last season.
Because the first half is part of last season as well.
Yeah, it's the least important half of last season.
Yeah, the Patriots in there, which I think
might be pushed back from you guys.
But they did make the Super Bowl.
I think they should be in this conversation here.
The Ravens might be in here, although they missed the playoffs last year.
I just think there's a lot of teams here.
Is it more obvious to you guys?
To me, it's the Ravens here.
I think there are different directions you could go.
But I think just the talent level that they have
separates them from the other starters and for agencies here.
You got to start letting me talk first,
so it doesn't sound like I'm just agreeing with everything you said.
But I also put the Ravens here.
All right, we'll put the Ravens.
As much as the bills are a power ranking starling,
the Ravens, every time I think about them,
I don't know how they lose.
Right.
You have the best running back in the AFC.
And where's your quarterback rate?
The most difficult quarterback to defend.
Right.
Yeah.
I think there are different ways you could go here,
but I think they're just with the talent level.
To me, it was an easy choice.
So you guys are a big fan of Chargers' defensive coordinator
from last year.
Yeah, I mean, that's going to hurt them, but also,
well, it's going to be a challenge for them
to kind of reset with a new quarterback or a new coach,
but I just can't quit the Ravens.
All right, there we go.
We're going Ravens at number three, number four, Ryan.
So you don't agree with Henry?
Yeah.
Number four, I would probably put the Patriots.
Wow.
They're still here below.
That's fair.
I've got the Chiefs here.
I just think you tell me the Chiefs and the Patriots
are lining up to play a football game.
I'm taking the Chiefs every time.
I get that the Patriots did a lot of things last year,
but that offensive line is flawed.
I think Drake may have the flukiest season
against easy opponents.
You did.
I don't think that he's not Joe Burrow.
He's not one of those guys.
He's a solid quarterback.
He's not even bone nicks.
I think that even the defense gets way too much hype.
That's what I think it's Chiefs here.
Because to me, I have Chiefs then bangles,
then Chargers then Patriots.
That's where I'm at.
With the separator being, the Chiefs
just have the better quarterback compared to the bangles.
And the bangles offense is better than anything
the Chargers have.
And then after that is where you finally,
to me, you have to say Patriots.
I think the Chargers are the most complete teams
of the ones that you just said there.
I think the part that you might be leaving out here
is the coaching.
I think that the Patriots are just so well coached.
And I think they have like a style and a identity
about them that is replicable.
I don't think they're going to be as good as they were last year.
But I do think that they're just going to kind of continue
to win football games.
I think the Chiefs are having an identity crisis right now.
Because I think with Travis Kelsey coming back,
they signed Kenneth Walker made the highest paid free agent
running back ever.
And I think it's to maximize this next year, honestly,
yet your quarterback, the guy that has built this franchise
and got them to where they are is coming off in ACL.
I still think he's going to be ready for week one.
But we always hear about ACLs that second year after it
is when you're actually 100%.
So he's not all in on this season.
But the organization's trying to go all in,
at least on the offensive side this year.
It's a weird spot for them.
I think kind of I guess I would lean Chiefs here
over the Patriots.
And then probably put the Patriots next right there.
Just because of the edition of Kenneth Walker,
but I'm not comfortable with it.
And maybe I'm given the Chiefs too much credit too,
because they did lose a very good corner on their defense.
Yeah, well, that kind of settles that, right?
It does.
Because that would be two votes for the Chiefs right here.
And then two votes for the Patriots on the next slot.
And then we have bangles.
And then we have bangles, chargers, stealers,
colts kind of in this next conversation.
I hate to say it, but I think I would put the chargers
over the bangles.
So what is this?
Is this spot six?
Is that right, Dion?
Five.
This is spot six.
OK, so now who's after the Patriots?
That's what we're getting to right now.
And Ryan, you said you hate to say it, but it's chargers here?
I would put the chargers over the bangles.
To me, so the reason I go bangles over chargers
is just because the Cincinnati offense
is the best unit either team has.
Like the chargers defense is second,
but I think the gap between the bangles offense
and the chargers defense, those two teams play,
bangles are going to score 30.
Like they just are.
And I'm not sure I trust even against that bangles defense,
the chargers to get there.
Yeah, the chargers are dropping 45 on that next defense.
If the game is going where the bangles are scoring 30,
I would go.
I just don't know if the chargers are capable of scoring 45.
Like that offense is just so lame.
Yeah, it is.
See how many times Herbert scored more than 30?
In the past, there were more, yeah.
I would go, I just think there are more well-rounded teams,
so I would go chargers here, so.
There's a team we haven't said their name once yet
who probably deserves to be brought up at this point.
Steelers?
The Jags.
Oh, that's an oversight.
I have them 11.
Woo!
So the massive drop off.
Small market.
Flooky.
I don't think that defenses that good again,
and that offense.
I know Trevor Lawrence was good last year.
I don't buy it.
Like they're just, they're still on the juice.
Here's what I disagree is, I think there was one person
that took Trevor Lawrence and the Jags from being
in the dumps to getting to where they were last year,
and I think it's their head coach.
And Liam Cohen, I did not expect him to be good,
especially how Duffy he sounded and Nathaniel Hackett,
he sounded in his press conference and stuff,
and all the behind-the-scenes videos,
it's just like, oh, this isn't going good place,
but I gotta give him credit.
I was wrong.
He did a fantastic job, and so I do think
that he has them in a playoff spot next year.
Maybe they take a step back from winning their division
and, or they didn't win their division.
They were wild card team, but it's still being
a wild card team next year.
Well, they won, they won.
Yeah.
They did.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, because they're in a terrible division.
I also think that's a team we should probably
mention right now too.
What are the Jaguars good at?
Would be my question.
Football?
Defense?
No.
OK.
I mean, what were they last year?
I mean, they ranked highly defensively.
I just don't buy that that's actually something that's real.
Like, I think they hit the cults at the right time,
the Texans sucked when they played them.
Like, they had to get them against the Steelers.
Well, wait, so scroll up really quick.
I mean, they had, in terms of points,
they had a top six offense and a top eight defense.
And I still look at that offense and say,
that's a bottom 10, 12 offense in the NFL.
Like, they had the big numbers.
I just don't think they've got the Jews.
I mean, I saw what they did against this Broncos team.
And it was the only team to beat the Broncos after week three
in the regular season.
Losing ETN hurts.
It does.
It does.
But I view, the chargers are honestly like,
or I'm sorry, the Jags last year were a better
chargers team in terms of like being well-balanced on both
sides of the ball.
I do think we messed up not having the Jags
in the conversation earlier.
Well, yeah, and I think they're,
so do we have a six spot yet?
Have we settled on that?
No.
No, we have not.
I mean, Jags could be here, naturally.
I think they're in the conversation,
but I still think I go,
now maybe I would put the Jags over the chargers.
To me, it's Bengals.
I go, I go chargers.
Three way tags.
Three way tie.
Andre, who should rank higher in the AFC power rankings?
Chargers, Jags, or Bengals?
Jags, all right.
Andre breaks the tie.
He's a Jags at six.
Now, for this next one, where are we going?
Are we going chargers or Bengals?
I go chargers, just a little more well-rounded.
So, Ryan?
I'll go Bengals.
Okay, we're going Bengals there.
So that means if this were the playoffs right now,
the chargers would be the first team out of the playoffs,
and then they, this might be good for their emotional side
because they don't have to suffer
like another devastating playoff meltdown.
Yeah, they lost to the Jags in the playoffs, didn't they?
They did. They blew a 24-point lead.
No, no, that was like, chargers would be eight.
That was like years ago, wasn't it?
Wait, who blew?
The chargers lost to the Jags this year in the playoffs, yeah?
No, chargers lost to the Patriots.
Oh, right.
And the Jags.
Who did the Jags play?
Jags are such a fritter party.
The Jags lost to the Bills.
Yeah, lost to the Bills.
Jags lost to the Bills, that's right.
And then I think another team that could be
in the conversation for the top four,
but also the conversation of where they are now.
The Texans, that defense is unreal.
If CJ Stroud continues his massive decline
since his rookie year, then they won't make the playoffs.
The defense can't carry you 17 games through a season
to be a playoff team, especially in this competitive AFC.
Did they keep all of the parts of that defense?
I believe so, yeah, all the main parts.
Yeah, they're going to be good.
They are going to be good.
And running back, they traded for David Montgomery.
I think he's an upgrade over what they had last year,
especially because Joe Mixin didn't play last year.
But which way did CJ Stroud go?
Does he look like rookie CJ Stroud?
If he looks like rookie CJ Stroud, this is a team
that could be competing for the number one seed.
Off like the Broncos 2015 recipe, just unbelievable defense.
If he continues the decline, then Holy cow,
this is one of the biggest declines we've ever seen
in NFL history from a rookie season on.
He did, he kind of stopped, slowed it down last year.
Does it climb?
Yeah, he was bad at the end.
He was awful at the end.
Yeah, in the very last game, yes, he was awful.
Oh, it's still not you want to talk about the first half
of this season, huh?
I'm talking about the first 95% of the season, he had brought it
back up from the year before where he was bad.
Yeah.
I think I might lean Steelers over Texans,
just because I think the defense is better.
The Texans beat them last year.
They did, but that was last year.
I would take that last year.
I'm more basically not like the most recent game
played last year, though.
I know, but I'm saying this year, if you tell me which defense
I get, I want the Steelers defense.
Oh, that's crazy.
And you think so.
Yeah, OK, OK, I do think that's crazy.
Huh, so I'm going Texas here.
I would take the Texas defense maybe
over anyone but the Broncos.
Yeah, I mean, they were like the Buzzy Trendy defense
at the end of the year, but I they were nasty, bro.
They put together a good stretch.
They had a good stretch.
They're late.
Look up, look up their stats from last year.
It was insane.
Let's do that.
And let's continue this conversation.
Let's ask Baldi some of these questions.
He is joining us coming up next.

We are the DMVR Broncos podcast.
And we are going to be joined by our guy Brian Baldinger
in just a second.
And before we do, let's continue this conversation here.
So we got Baldi?
Is that right?
All right, let's bring him in on the Xfinity call in line.
Our guy Brian Baldinger, Baldi, how we doing?
Jack, I'm good, man.
Good to be with you guys.
It's great.
We're one month away from basically new years
and Christmas and all that kind of good stuff.
So just kind of preparing and getting ready, I guess.
Man, Baldi, sometimes I forget that you're a draft guy
as well, just because how much you are a regular season guy.
And then you just own every single part of the NFL schedule.
And we were just going through and talking
about where the Broncos rank in AFC power rankings right now.
And you might call us homers.
So I'm going to ask you, we have the Broncos at number one
right now.
Are we being homers?
Or would you have them at number one in AFC specific power
rankings?
I mean, with bow nicks that quarterback last year,
you were 15 and three.
And there's not a whole lot of changes.
I mean, you just added a number one wide receiver.
If you want to thank you, Jaila Waddle,
it's number one of your brought back JK Dobbins.
The quarterback outside of the injury, whatever that was,
at the end of the Buffalo game, I mean,
has been healthy and improving.
And so the defense returns the primary suspects
of a team that led to league in Sacks.
I don't know, I don't know how you could put anybody
in front of them with any kind of substance.
To me, they look like the bona fide number one seed
just the way they finished the season.
Let's go.
Yeah, I agree.
There's kind of fun going through.
To me, the bills are probably a pretty clear cut number two.
They're complete, Josh Allen.
They have the ability to make plays that win games.
Is that disrespectful to the Patriots to say that they're,
they're honestly a few teams in AFC that I'd be more scared
of as a Broncos fan than I am of the Patriots?
I don't think it's disrespectful.
I mean, they did get to a Super Bowl.
And so you could say that they did go to Denver and win,
you know, the back up against the back up quarterback.
You know, there's some things that have changed since that day
in the middle of January.
New England has lost a lot of pieces from that day.
And Denver really hasn't lost that much, not nearly as much.
And so I don't think it's disrespectful.
Look, the New England earned that.
They went on the road.
They won.
They got to a Super Bowl.
It was pretty one sided.
But regardless, if you just talk about the AFC,
I don't have any problem putting Denver in front of them
right now.
Baldi, I'm going to turn it back a little bit
to a conversation we had yesterday.
And I'm curious what you would think of the addition
of the Broncos were to go out and get Kaleis Campbell.
Well, you lost John Franklin Myers.
And, you know, basically, and he was a really valuable part
to their defensive front.
They had a good rotation up front.
But Kaleis can still play.
I was with them last year in July at the Sac Summit in Las Vegas
with Bob Miller and Max.
And he was there, you know, and it's, you know,
it was 100 degrees in Vegas.
And there's Kaleis out there going through drills
like everybody else.
There's still a part of him that can still play.
I know him in Zach, he was never in Arizona.
Zach Allen was there.
But like, there's just a bonafide respect for Kaleis
as a defensive unit, as a front office, as a coaching staff.
You're just going to respect him the way he conducts himself,
handles himself.
And he can still give you 30 good plays again.
There's no question.
And you can't coach his size.
He's still six foot eight.
He's still, you know, trying to throw his natural liberty,
you know, in the middle of the field.
Like, I think Kaleis actually would make a lot of sense
right now for Denver.
I don't know how expensive it is or contract or any of that stuff.
But if you're just saying, would he be a good fit in Denver?
I'd say he would be.
So then, Baldi, I got to ask about two other guys
that we've talked about.
And the Broncos country has really talked about.
Does it make any sense for the Broncos
to add Von Miller or Cam Jordan?
And the connection, obviously, with Cam, there is Sean Peyton.
Does it make any sense for either of those guys
to sign with the Broncos?
Both of them had great seasons.
Both Von and Cam had great seasons.
They came in together with the same draft class.
They run the sack summit along with Max in Las Vegas
around each other a lot.
They know each other.
Von is still out there training guys right now.
It makes a lot of sense.
I mean, they both have a little bit of a diminished role.
They do it completely, completely different type.
I mean, Cam Jordan is still in Von too.
I mean, both of them are very healthy.
Both of them are coming off good seasons
in reduced roles where they had production.
I don't think that age should have anything to do with it.
I mean, I think if I was Denver load up,
it's a long season, 17 games.
You got to get to the postseason.
You're looking at 20 or 21 game schedule.
You need depth.
And there's nothing like having quality depth guys
that you know can do it and enjoy doing it.
You know, that's the thing like this game is still fun
for all three of those guys right now.
You know, the Broncos are an interesting spot
with about $10 million probably still to play with
in salary cap space.
Were those names that we brought up
the guys that you can be chasing
or is there another spot you'd like to add?
Is there a receiver?
Would a tight end make more sense?
I mean, I think there's some tight ends in this draft
that you can get in the lower rounds, middle rounds
that might be able to help out.
Everything room is still there right now.
And so I didn't think he really shined much last year
but we'll see what his role is like.
He got a new play caller, Davis Webb.
Maybe he uses them a little bit more
differently than what Sean did.
We'll see how that whole thing works out.
But I don't know if there's anybody just off the top.
My head, we got to see the June 1st cuts
that will be coming, which is clearing cap space
and getting under the salary cap with $301 million.
There's a lot of things that can happen June 1st
that just see how it shakes out
and just see who might be available.
Without having to go crazy with spending money,
take somebody on a veteran minimum
and give him a shot and see if it works out for him.
One more on Cam Jordan.
We had this conversation yesterday
and one of the things was like,
would Cam Jordan be willing to take some snaps
in that JFM role and would that be successful
if you were to do that?
What do you think?
Oh yeah, for sure.
I mean, he's still 285 pounds.
Like, you know, he's still a big man
where they plays on the edge
or plays inside or a three technique.
Like his power is still real.
And so you see it in the sack
that he had last year,
how he was still running guys over.
I don't think, I think, you know,
Cam would relish playing any role.
In fact, he's played a little bit of a reduced role
the way John did or John Franklin Myers did.
So I think he would covet that, you know,
a chance to keep playing.
He's made it clear that if it means leaving New Orleans,
he'll leave New Orleans.
I think he wants to keep playing.
You know, his thing is, you know,
just keep stacking those sacks, you know.
And one day, he should lead to, you know,
wearing a gold jacket,
but he probably would like a few more
on a team that led the league in sacks
and have, you know, the thing about Denver
and what Vance does is they have a lot of five man rushes.
As much as probably anybody in the league,
just the IHS without looking, you know,
at the numbers or anything like that,
they have a lot of five man rushes
where you get to go one-on-one.
Cam knows all about that.
Give him a one-on-one against right guards
or left guards in the sling.
I think he would, he'd love to have that match up.
Baldi, last week when we talked to you,
you did a great job breaking down everything
about Jalen Wadda, but now we've had a week
to kind of process it.
How does Jalen impact the other receivers?
Assume court and Jalen are one and two there.
Who's the Broncos third receiver
between Marvin Mims, Pat Bryant and Troy Franklin?
I'd like to see how we say that the biggest jump
that a player makes in this league
is between the first and second year.
So that like points to Pat Bryant, you know.
He looks like he's an ex-receiver,
he's an outside receiver.
It's kind of hard to say, you know,
does he have a more versatile role than that right now?
It doesn't, you know, it didn't really show much
last year from that standpoint, the versatility.
But I would say, you know, I would look at Pat Bryant
and see what he might be in a second.
I think we kind of know what Troy Franklin
and what Marvin Mims are at this point.
Not that that's a diminished respect to those guys,
but I'd like to see Pat Bryant
in a second year right now.
Yeah, Pat's interesting too, because he can block
and Sean loves those big receivers who can get,
whether it's in the slot or whether it's on the boundary
who can be physical, do you think that that's something
that I'm circling back to, Jalen Waddle?
Does he have any juices of blocker?
Because obviously it's not something
it comes to mind when we talk about him.
Well, I don't think anybody's going to make a trade
for Jalen Waddle the way Denver did, because he can block.
I mean, honestly, you don't have to be a great blocker
to be a great receiver.
But if you can understand where the force is coming from
and you can get in front of that force and shield them,
I mean, that's as good as being a good blocker.
I think Jalen understands, like he played with Devon H.H.H.,
who is an explosive back.
Any blocks down the field help get him go from 10 yards
to 30 to 40 yards.
I mean, I could go back and watch the explosive runs
of Devon H.H.H.H., or Jalen Wright, whoever it was
in Miami at the time, and just see just what Jalen was able to do.
Last thing I want to see is my wide receiver
out there blocking and getting rolled up down the field,
like that would make me cringe.
Last one for me, Baldi, looking at this draft,
obviously the Broncos no longer having a first round pick.
What position do you think is deep enough in this draft
where it's like, oh, where the Broncos are picking
in the second round, there's still going to be
a really good player here.
I think there's two positions where
depth, I think, outside receiver or running back,
because you can always find those guys in any round.
But I would say the interior of the offensive line,
you can find good players.
Logan Jones from Iowa, I mean, Chase Visatus from Texas A&M,
Matt Guglin, you know, you can find interior
offensive linemen in the third, fourth, fifth rounds right now.
And I would say off the ball inside linebackers.
I mean, there was a lot of guys, obviously,
Arvel Reese and Sonny Styles and Jacob Rodriguez and CJ Hill.
Those guys at the top of the draft,
but this group goes into the middle rounds as well.
And so I think those two positions,
you can find good players in this draft.
So Baldi, to kind of dig on that for the final question,
just one more you mentioned.
Chris Smith is when the draft is Sean Peyton opens up
his present with the 60 second pick.
And he just is in love with it.
Who is it?
Who's the player that you think falls to 62,
where Sean Peyton's just overwhelmed with joy?
How about if Blake Miller was available out of Clemson
as an offensive tackle?
How about if Jacob Rodriguez was available
at 62?
A guy that had 10 force fumbles last two years in Lubbock
has played quarterback, has been an F-back in Virginia
when he first started, has real versatility.
Like I think either one of those two guys,
if they were around at 62, like I know how Sean thinks,
just talking to scouts that have worked with him
in New Orleans in Denver is pretty interesting.
Like don't beat around the bush.
Get to your point about the player.
I don't want to know a bunch of, just tell me who he is.
Just get to the point.
And so if you're going to say, OK, Jacob Rodriguez,
this is a takeaway machine.
Like that'd be a good way to describe Jacob Rodriguez.
I don't know if he'll be there at 62.
He's a really good player.
But we'll see what we'll see.
But I think either one of those guys would be good
for this group right now.
Well, I love it, Baldi, and we're all about Jacob Rodriguez.
So we absolutely love that and love your insight.
And we look forward to talking to you next week,
maybe seeing you at the owner's meetings as well.
So thank you so much for joining us, Baldi.
You got it, you got it, guys.
Have a great weekend, man.

We have the meat and participating

Man, a lot of good things from Baldi,
and I know Buzz Buzz smile on your face when you said
Jacob Rodriguez.
Yeah, I was the first person to ever know about Jacob Rodriguez.
You were, unfortunately, he's not everyone.
And I'm just fortunate to know you.
Someone that was the first on Jacob Rodriguez, right?
I actually wasn't even before I keep.
Yeah, that is very impressive.
My only question with Jacob Rodriguez,
and I've heard this from NFL circles,
is what he does so special is take the ball away.
Baldi said 10 and a half forced fumbles
over the past two years, interceptions, touchdowns.
The only question is, will that translate to the NFL?
If it does, he's a first-round pick.
And I think he could be like the Jack Campbell sort of guy,
where Jack Campbell, out of Iowa two or three years ago,
was viewed initially as like a third-round pick,
second-round pick, and then by the time the draft comes,
like, no, this guy's special, and he goes in the first round,
I think that's what's happening with Jacob Rodriguez.
Didn't work out.
Right.
Taking him that early.
He was awesome. He was awesome as a rookie.
But then afterwards, he's been an issue.
Yeah, yeah.
So that rookie, NFL teams, don't draft Jacob Rodriguez
in the first place.
And in fact, don't even draft him early or mid-second-round,
either, just too much of a risk.
Let him fall all the way to 62.
They're great stuff from Baldy.
We appreciate him joining us, especially today.
All right, so we get back to our power rankings
or anything else you want to clear up from Baldy.
No?
Actually.
The Clay's Campbell thing was exciting.
And the Cam Jordan thing, he didn't even hesitate
before saying Cam Jordan could play the JFM role.
I love that.
So, so much.
And it's going to be interesting.
Does Cam Jordan want to break the bank?
And honestly, he might be able to do that in Denver,
because Sean might just give him the money that he wants.
And then how does he prioritize, like, getting 10, 12,
13 sacks?
I can't imagine he signs with the Broncos
and potentially the JFM role, expecting
he's going to get that many sacks.
But then Woody asked the balances, Super Bowl.
These, he's Brian Baldinger's number one,
the Broncos are Brian Baldinger's number one team
in the AFC and Power rankings right now.
Like, that is your opportunity when the Super Bowl.
I highly recommend ring chasing to NFL players.
So why not?
I've met a lot of NFL players post-career.
The ones who won Super Bowls are just so much happier.
And also you're just goaded in the community.
Exactly, like you, you're just, you're stamped forever,
wherever you go in that place.
And like, yes, Cam Jordan will always be stamped
in New Orleans, but there's just some,
some other kind of level to it.
Get stamped in two places then.
Sure. Yeah, I mean, he's already got the money too.
Like, if he could get 15 million from one team,
would he take 10 from the Broncos?
I don't know.
That's up, he said, if the sense don't make sense,
then it doesn't seem like he's interested.
So maybe not there, but it does make me interested.
And also, I loved it when asked about Cam and Vaughn,
he said, load up, load up.
You're in a Super Bowl window, load up right now.
I absolutely, I love it.
Henry, any takeaways from you?
Nope.
All right, well, let's go back into the Power rankings.
And we just put the Texans at number nine.
Who do we have left in number 10, Henry,
if you would read all the other teams?
Let's see.
So I would have the Steelers up next,
then the Colts.
Do we already have the Jags?
We already have the Jags.
And then...
So Steelers, Colts, Dolphins, Browns, Raiders,
tight, some more jets?
To me, Steelers and Colts are the last
and kind of that middle tier.
Yeah.
I would actually say the Steelers are a significant
step above the Colts.
I would, too.
I would put the Steelers next as well.
So Steelers go there.
Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rogers.
Does that do it for you?
Like our Steelers fans excited if that happens?
Is that what's happened?
Oh, forgot about that.
What is this?
2009?
Yeah, I mean, that was the last time Aaron Rogers was good.
Was 17 years ago.
I think he has three MVP since then.
Jeez, I mean, he's falling off a cliff.
Where do DK Metcalfe and Michael Pittman rank
among the best receivers Aaron Rogers has had?
Like as a duo.
Could you have to go back like...
Devante and Jordi.
Right, that's what I was thinking.
Devante and Jordi, he would have had like Donald driver
and...
I don't think he...
Really?
It would have been close.
With...
He got Randall Cobb.
Randall Cobb.
Randall Cobb wasn't like either of these two.
But yeah.
Yeah, I mean, this is up there.
It's up there.
I would put Devante and Jordi over it.
Still neither of these guys are first-round picks.
So Aaron Rogers still just doesn't play
with first-round pickwad receivers.
Steelers?
Yeah, we'll go Steelers.
And I think so, Henry mentioned the Colts there.
You said there's a big gap between the Steelers
and the Colts.
I would put a team above the Colts right now
that's in this list of others on Henry's list.
I put the Titans here.
I think Titans are going to have a better year than last.
I mean, they're still coming in at 11th on our AFC powerings.
Like I'm saying, they're in the top three here.
But I think they're...
I think they got a good coach on offense and defense
or head coach, obviously, Salah.
And I think...
Do you think the Titans are going to finish
in second place in their division?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I remember it's a terrible division.
I know.
Yeah.
And they're part of that, a big part of it.
Yeah, and I think they're...
For many many years.
I think they're going to take a step up.
Okay.
I think so.
They actually had a really good offseason
in my opinion, coaching and free agency.
Yeah, I could see them taking a jump.
Like they definitely got more talented.
I just think there was such a gap
just to get back to like the level of function
that the Colts had.
And then you throw in, like,
Joth and Taylor just gives them an identity
and that's the separator to me.
But just remember, they still have Sauce Gardener,
who is true and 14 in the last calendar years of player.
That's true, so matters a lot.
It's Colts definitely here for me.
Okay, okay.
And then I still wouldn't even touch the Titans
for a minute.
So, Henry, you're going Colts here?
All right, Dion, let's put Colts right here.
So now we're entering...
Trash.
Yes.
The bottom tier.
And...
Except I wouldn't have the Titans in this tier.
They'd be above.
Yeah, they are firmly in it.
And I would pick the Browns to be my top of the bottom.
I'm shocked.
I can't believe that.
That rookie class that they got last year,
going into their second year,
is going to be nasty.
And they still have Miles Garrett.
They still have Miles Garrett.
So you're going Browns, you went...
Raiders.
And I went Titans.
Andre, who's the best team among the Titans,
Browns, and Raiders this year?
Power rankings.
Okay.
Okay.
Andre said Browns last year.
Oh my gosh.
Damn, I should have asked Jake,
for sure would have gone Browns.
Oh, maybe...
Okay, so I guess this room is going...
Are you the five ball-nowers in here or all over here?
I'm glad that you called me a ball-nower.
Thank you.
Oh, I was like, I got shaded.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, you got to go someone on Bies.
And Dion, and Dion.
Dion, who would you have taken?
Well, we'll still stick with the Browns,
but who would you have taken?
What was that?
Browns Titans Raiders.
Wow, I missed a four.
Yeah, I'm going to stop asking people now.
Raiders.
Okay, so we got Dolphins.
Raiders Titans Jets.
And I've still got the Raiders.
And I've still got the Titans.
Right? Dolphins.
Do you want to go with the Dolphins or Jets
or agree with one of Henry or I?
Dolphins Raiders Titans Jets.
Yeah.
Dolphins Raiders Titans Jets.
God, they're also bad.
Um, I'll take...
Raiders are going to be like 500.
Not this year.
Yeah, I'll take the Titans, sure.
Let's go!
Finally, someone on my bandwagon with the Titans.
Okay, so we got the Titans.
Four worst team in the...
So now Henry's going Raiders, I would assume,
as a third worst team.
And then we have the Jets and the Dolphins.
I think Henry nominating the Raiders,
three spots in a row, just gives them the spot.
I think that what's worse than trash?
Or is there, did we say trash too early in my opinion?
This is, no, the bottom tier is these teams.
No, I think there's...
I think we still haven't got to the bottom tier.
So I guess I'll just call them my bottom tier.
And the Raiders, no, the Raiders are in that.
So I'd put the Raiders here, though.
Okay, yeah.
Because I think like the awful teams
that will be fighting for wins this year
is the Dolphins and the Jets.
Yeah, and if you said like Dolphins Jets Raiders,
and they're actually fighting for lots of Titans
in there too, best player, best players.
Best player, any of them have, is Max Crosby.
Second best player, any of them have, is Brock Bowers.
Yeah, I think just town a little...
And they have the best quarterback.
Raiders are already there.
Right. Who's their quarterback again?
Fernando. Oh, yeah.
I don't know, second best quarterback
in this draft, according to NFL expert quarterback scout.
What?
Raiders, Dolphins, yes.
We don't know.
It's Raiders at third.
So who's the worst team in the AFC?
The Dolphins.
Yeah, I mean, Titans and Jets are right there.
I, Titans out.
Yeah, I could go Dolphins in.
I think it's tough.
I think the worst team is the Jets.
I think Malik Willis gives the Dolphins a shot at
not being the worst team.
Now, they are stripping the team around them.
They're trying to lose.
Jets are two.
I don't think they lose.
I don't think they'll be doing that.
This is the year where they have two drafts
and then next year they are two picks.
The next year, I think they have two picks as well,
but maybe this year they have three picks.
I mean, they are a full rebuild.
And I think they're actually doing a rebuild the right way
if you wanna rebuild.
But I think you both said Dolphins are the worst team,
so then that would mean Jets at 15 and Dolphins at 16.
We did it.
We did it.
We did it.
I think our only miss is we put the bangles too high.
And it's my fault.
Yeah, we have the Patriots and Jags.
Bengals are at seven.
I know, I think the Jags should have been ahead of them.
I think Patriots and Jags were a few spots too high.
I think those are the two teams that just kind of
got lucky last year.
So I do think Broncos and Bills
pretty set there at one, two.
I think from three, all the way to nine,
it's kind of wide open right there.
And why I think this is really good for the Broncos
is because, okay, the second most competitive team
in the AFC, according to us right now, is the Bills.
Well, Broncos played the Bills in the playoffs last year
and we all know how that went.
So the Broncos get that one.
And then with these other teams, like chiefs could easily
miss the playoffs again this season,
especially with my homes.
The Ravens, they could be a shell of what they have been
over the past couple of years.
And last year they didn't even make the playoffs
because they've got new coaching staff
and so many new things.
Yet Patriots, a lot of people expect to drop off from them.
Jags where they have one hit wonder.
Bengals, is their defense ever going to show up
and help to help Joe Burrow out?
They've missed the playoffs for two years in a row.
The chargers, they're charging.
It doesn't matter what the chargers do in the regular season.
Just mid.
You gotta see them win a playoff game
and then two and then three to in order to be like,
okay, they're actually real.
And we have never seen that from this iteration
of the chargers.
Just in here where it gets such a pass, it's disgusting.
Well, they're just so happy on that.
CJ Stroud helped them a lot last year
with his meltdown being more epic than Herbert's meltdown.
But what I'm saying is if Lamar Jackson
still hadn't won a playoff game,
people would have buried him by now.
Totally, yeah.
But I mean, he wound up with Derek Henry.
Like there was just no talent on that offense.
Like it's O'Marian Hampton, like Quentin Johnston.
Like what did Lamar Jackson do anything last year?
Maybe they would be Lamar Jackson's good.
They played with a good quarterback.
Yeah, 789 for Lamar Jackson last year.
Like they're just...
They're playing with a loser at quarterback.
Right, but if you compare Broncos
and chargers skill position talent,
Joe Waddle, JK Dobbins, Courtland Sutton,
better than anything that they have in a skill position.
Yeah, and they let JK walk.
They had it.
You could say like, oh, give him Troy Franklin,
but like Troy Franklin wouldn't be Troy Franklin there.
Right.
We do have some super chats.
Oh, great.
Well, let's...
Were we good?
Yeah.
First one is from Pure Lapine, who says,
love Baldi, DNVR, you guys, hashtag DB4L.
We love you, Pure Lapine.
Thank you.
We'll make sure it passes on that loved Baldi.
Yes.
And here's one for probably you two.
Curious what you guys think about Jam Miller?
After watching the Combine and a few of his games,
I don't get why he isn't higher on people's radar.
I feel like he could be a late round steal.
Yeah, what's very interesting about that is obviously
now I'm Alabama fan.
And so I surround myself with some other Alabama fans.
And Alabama fans are way lower on Jam
than draft people are on Jam.
And I mean, there was a point in the middle of last season,
Jam was supposed to be like the dude for Alabama.
And there was a point where he just became not the dude.
And Alabama was playing other guys instead of him.
So that concerns me.
I honestly haven't really kept up with his draft.
But his draft stock is rising.
I think our guy, Chris Sims, has him
as his third best running back in this draft.
And so little surprised by that.
Yeah, I mean, he's just not fast.
And he doesn't really have much wiggle.
He's like, I would say he's like Audric Estimate,
which is just a little bit less juice.
Wow.
Yeah, Audric Estimate was pretty juiceless.
Yeah, no, he's more juiceless than Audric Estimate.
Audric still had like, he hit 20 miles per hour on runs
and like some of that sort of stuff.
Which is, it's split in Harish.
If you take that away, they're basically the same guy.
Jam's more.
Jam's more explosive.
Yeah, that's a very good point.
Yeah.
So we'll see, I'm curious about Jam.
I'm going to be pulling for him.
But late round guy, sure.
I think so.
