Brian Mast Proposes Trump Airport Renaming

On March 25th, Florida congressman Brian Mast has introduced a bill to rename Palm Beach

International Airport as Donald J. Trump International Airport, complete with a new code of DJT.

Mast wants to celebrate Trump's strong legacy in his home base in Palm Beach County, drawing

parallels to airports named for past presidents like John F. Kennedy in New York and Ronald

Reagan in Washington.

The airport sees millions of travelers every year and plays a big role in the local economy,

especially with frequent Air Force One landings during.

Trump stays there.

The legislation calls on the Federal Aviation Administration to team up with state, federal

and global aviation groups to handle the nameswitch and update all official records.

Right now, the bill awaits review by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure,

which could pave the way for a full house vote and a fresh landmark for the region.
