Broncos Eyeing RB Upgrade in Draft

On April 7th, the Denver Broncos are eyeing their running backs spot hard with the 2026 NFL draft just weeks away.

They locked in JK Dobbins on a two-year deal after he paired well with second-rounder RJ Harvey last season.

But Dobbins got hurt mid-year, forcing Harvey to carry more load, and he struggled without that full combo.

Broncos' backups like Jalil McGwacklin and Tyler Bady are coming back, but they got limits as primary guys.

Team history shows they need draft competition, especially since injuries hit hard.

Since 2011, they've grabbed runners like Ronnie Hillman in the third round, back in 2012, Monti Ball, second-round 2013.

And, more recently, Javante Williams' second-round 2021.

Fans remember the real stars came undrafted, like CJ.

Anderson with his big seasons in Phillip Lindsay, the last Bronco to top 1,000 rushing yards in a year.

Those dudes made three pro-balls combined, proving you don't always need early picks for impact.

Under GM George Patton, they've gone early with second-rounders like Williams and Harvey, but it ain't mandatory.

A day three still like the Angelo Booker could slide in as a solid number three and grow, or even snag an undrafted gem for depth.

Bottom line, Broncos just need an upgrade over McLaughlin or Bady who shines as a rookie, keeping that backfield tough no matter who goes down.
