Broncos' Linebacker Dilemma: Wagner or Draft?

On March 30, the Denver Broncos have some real issues at linebacker this off-season.

They cut Dre Greenlaw after just one season, extended Alex Singleton, and re-signed Justin Strohnad.

Salah Mugh was Strohnad, but passing on Greenlaw for Singleton feels off, leaving the position thin.

Reports just pegged the Broncos as a spot for veteran Bobby Wagner, the future Hall of Famer.

But there's a big if, he's not the player he once was.

and PJ Lock 3 all jumping ship. Wagner started every game, racked up 162 tackles and some sacks,

but his coverage let teams light him up with a passer rating over,

O-100. At age 36, he'd be a one-year vet presence at best, not a true upgrade.

Denver's defense needs more than name value right now, especially with those

departures hurting depth. They skipped a first round pick, so their first shot comes at 62nd overall,

where prospects like Josiah Trotter, Jay Golday, or Anthony Hill, Jr. could fall.
