This week it’s Owen’s pick and he and Gaius deep dive into 2012’s Killing Them Softly, written and directed by Andrew Dominik and starring Brad Pitt, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard. 

The duo get into the themes of the film, including its correlation with the financial crisis of 2008 and the 2008 presidential election, the movie’s darkly comedic tone, Andrew Dominik’s directing style, and why the film didn’t light up the box office upon release.
