The Toronto Blue Jays are upgrading their level of excellence into the hall of excellence

and they're kicking it off with the first new member, Buck.

Martinez, this change honors the team's legends, and Martinez joins 11 others already

recognized, like Jose Bautista, Joe Carter, and Roy Halliday.

The official opening and induction ceremony happens on August 29th.

For the next five years, the Blue Jays plan to add more players, coaches, builders, and

broadcasters to build a richer history, especially as they.

Mark their 50th anniversary season.

Single-game tickets for the 2026 season are already on sale.

Team President Mark Shapiro says, this hall helps fans connect with those who've shaped

the franchise and created lasting memories.

He praises Martinez as a defining voice with passion and integrity that fans across

Canada love.

Martinez got traded to the Blue Jays early in the 1981 season and went on to play for

six years with their strong mid-80s teams.

Later, he managed and became a beloved broadcaster for decades across networks.

Before retiring from the booth, this past February after nearly 45 years.

On ceremony day, the first 15,000 fans get a special but Martinez bobblehead showing

him as catcher, manager, and broadcaster.
