Toronto Blue Jays legend Buck Martinez is stepping away from the broadcast booth after

this season, but he'll make history as the first inductee into.

The team's new Hall of Excellence.

The hall opens August 29th at Roger Center and takes the place of the old level of excellence.

All 11 members from the previous honor group will join the new setup on the 100 level

right field concourse.

It's a big upgrade designed to celebrate the people who shaped the franchise over decades.

Team President Mark Shapiro prays Martinez as a defining voice for the Jays, highlighting

his passion and deep ties to fans across Canada.

This honor comes right in the club's 50th season, marking his lasting impact.

Martinez, now 77, built a full career in baseball.

He coughed for 17 years across teams like the Royals, Brewers, and Jays.

Later managed the team for parts of two seasons and became a top.

Broadcaster covering World Series and All-Star Games.

Joe Siddhal, a former Jays catcher, is set to slide into Martinez' role next year, keeping

the booth strong as fans gear up for more memories in the new Hall.
