All right.
Let's start.
I'm already just wanted, of course, you know, in my Fubo, here we go.
I got to go, I got to make it through this, this weekend at the players.
I think that's an NBC deal.
Yep.
I got one more and then I get to the masters, I can get my CBS going, my goodness, my wife,
my wife just finally said to me, she goes, dude, you're just going to, if you want, everything
that you want.
You need a $300 a month and get everything.
That's, you know, the golf channel, all these things, NBC, everybody wants to fight with
everybody else.
You're going to have to get a total package in order to do it.
Hulu, Fubo, peacock, you know, you're going to have to get it all, because if that's
what you want for your sports watching, you don't want to miss anything, because somebody's
always going to be fighting with somebody.
You could just go back to cable.
Not that cable has been perfect.
They've had their share of disputes with, does that mean the thing on the roof and all
that stuff?
No, you don't have to have a dish on your roof, I mean, I did dish for a long, long time.
Yeah.
I'm all surprised, you know, you're old school with the way you typically operate.
I am surprised you cut the cord and went to the streaming services a few years ago.
Now so many others have that you're not into minority at this point, but I'm all surprised
you ended up doing that and I'm still even more surprised you've stuck with it with all
of the problems that you've had.
Yeah, the YouTube was the one that really led me down with NBC during the football season.
That was ESPN and ABC with YouTube.
Yeah, they were battling with who was, oh, yeah, that was the Sunday night games.
Yeah.
No, that was Fubo who was giving you the show.
Yeah, you're right.
You're right.
They're the ones who led me down.
I'm going to chance to watch any of those because of them.
Yeah.
You made the switch from YouTube to Fubo because YouTube didn't have ESPN for a while.
Yes.
And then Fubo didn't have NBC and they still don't have NBC.
It's a mess, dude.
It's a mess.
Yeah, so it's going to happen every year before football season.
It's going to happen anyway.
Yeah, you're probably right.
Fuck off to all of them.
Yeah, I mean, really, guys, come on.
There's a billionaires messing with billionaires, you know, consumers always get screwed.
The little man.
Think of the little man.
Yeah, please.
Think of the Calamari and Bucky Godbolts out there.
Come on, man.
All right.
Let's talk some Texas basketball, the longhorn men opening up postseason play tonight in the
opening round of the SEC tournament in Nashville, love to see the Texas men do what the Texas
women did.
And that's when the conference tournament now I have a very hard time thinking that's actually
going to happen.
Let's just start with a win, please.
The longhorn.
Yes, particular team.
Yes.
Against this particular team.
The longhorn's the 10 seed taken on the fight in Chris Beards of Ole Miss.
This feels like just based on the Bracketology predictions that I've seen over the last couple
of days, even after the loss to Oklahoma on Saturday night.
This feels like another win and you're in game for the longhorns.
They had that against Arkansas.
They got blown out in Fayetteville.
They had that over the weekend against Oklahoma.
They couldn't get it done.
Ole Miss is worse than both of those teams.
They finished tied for second to last in the conference.
I didn't see any tweets from them, bragging about that by the way.
Four and 14 in SEC play, 12 in 19 overall.
This has been a really bad basketball team.
If you're Texas, all you have to do is beat them.
And I think you have punched your ticket into the field of 64.
Not just 68.
I feel like if you win this game tonight, you're going to avoid dating in the first four and
you're going to get a spot in the real tournaments.
Yes.
If you lose this one tonight, then all bets are off.
All of a sudden they're off again and let's see.
Do not lose.
I mean, I think it's going to be a problem if they lose this game.
And Chris Beards team is terrible.
By the way, I don't know how long that dude is going to stay there.
I don't think he's going to be there too much longer.
He's going to look at that and say, this is not a basketball place for me.
I'm not making the big flip around like you did at Tech.
It's not happening here.
Well, it's interesting.
I mean, last year, in Chris Beards second year in Oxford, Ole Miss made the sweet 16.
So it felt like they were on the up and up.
And this year they've obviously taken a huge step back.
So they've taken a dump this year for sure.
They've taken a dump.
I don't think he's going to get fired.
I don't know if somebody else is going to come with a bigger or better offer
considering how bad they've been.
So yeah, maybe in a couple of years, Chris Beard is out,
whether it's on his own at quarter, they fire him.
But I think he's at least there for next season.
But they're bad.
Point is they're bad.
And if you lose tonight, it's going to be a long few days waiting for the bracket
to come out on Selection Sunday.
And also, like you might still get in.
Maybe it's Dayton, maybe it's not.
Maybe you still make the field of 64 even with the loss.
But how can you or me or any Texas fan feel good about the Long Horns chances
to actually do anything when they get there if they lose to this Ole Miss team?
They could have been, they could have had this all done by beating Oklahoma.
People would get it if they lose to this when I let down before the tournament.
Hey, let's get a little rest or whatever,
whatever excuse you wanted to use would be okay if you beat Oklahoma.
If they beat Oklahoma, they'd be in the tournament.
They also wouldn't be playing today.
That's right.
They would have been the seven seed instead of a 10 in the conference tournament.
And they would have gotten a first round by.
So yeah, you're right.
All of the discussions this week have been vastly different
because of that overtime loss to the hated Oklahoma sooners.
That one hurt.
And they've had their chances.
And here's the other thing.
Like, not only would it have lost to Ole Miss give you zero confidence
that this team could do anything in March.
Like, that's losing to a really bad team.
Anybody you play in the first round or in Dayton
is going to be better than Ole Miss.
So it's like, how do you feel good about beating them when you couldn't beat Ole Miss?
It's right.
But also, Buck, if they lose tonight,
that'd be one in five in their last six.
So it's, you're playing some bad basketball.
You're losing to bad teams.
And we're in the month of March.
This is a bad time to be doing those things.
Yeah, because there's a lot of teams on the bubble that are just barely going to be out.
Yeah.
Exactly.
And obviously, you got to worry about bid Steelers and other bubble teams
around college basketball who have a lot to play for.
So it's not just you.
I mean, again, if you win tonight, you kind of control your own destiny.
Obviously, if you win the conference tournament, you get an automatic bid.
That's great.
But if you just take care of business tonight, then I don't think you're going to have to
worry about anything that's going on around college basketball for the rest of the week.
You got another shot.
You got a third shot at it.
Yeah.
You got a third shot at it.
Here's Sean Miller.
Yesterday, a little breakout session talking about his team's motivation level going into
this conference turn.
I don't think so, because you know, you could play that game two or three different ways.
You could say, well, what team in the SEC tournament could possibly be more motivated
in Texas based on who we are, where we've been the last game that we played and what's
it's take for us?
Right?
You could also flip it and say, hey, teams, we have nothing to lose, they're going to play
over their head.
You know, I just think like that's the emotion of March Madness.
That's what captivates the audience.
But if you're in it, what's going to allow you to, I think, have successes.
If you really look at the game itself, what are the things that your team does well?
Did you do them well today?
And I think that's really our focus.
And your focus is to win this game.
Nobody's going to care about, about if, you know, if Mississippi, if Ole Miss beats you,
that's going to be, there won't be any excuses.
I'm going to have a hard time arguing in favor of Texas making the tournament if they lose.
Like, I will, because I want to see him in the tournament.
I do think Longhorn's resume, even with the loss, is better than just about every team
that they're fighting with on the bubble.
Some of the other teams on the bubble are teams that Texas has beaten this year, which
I think that has to come into consideration.
But, man, I mean, again, it's just, if you don't beat a 12 and 19 Ole Miss team that was
4 and 14 in your conference, then I had a hard time arguing until I'm blue in the face
that Texas should be.
So, you knew you had to, we talked about when one of those six games or five games were
going to be in.
When two and a half, two of them, you're definitely going to be in.
Here's the one.
Here's a chance for the third time right here.
Yeah.
Get that second win.
You're there.
We...
This team is bad.
Mississippi's bad.
They're bad.
We talked to Joe and Arty last week.
And I saw somebody else who was Corey Moes talk to Joe and Arty more recently, you know,
after the Oklahoma loss.
And Joe and Arty said he thinks Texas is in regardless of what happens tonight.
But Joe and Arty doesn't make the final call.
Some bracketologists out there have Texas a little bit more on the bubble than Joey
racquet does.
So, there's no guarantee if you don't get this one done.
How do you actually win this game tonight?
Well, I'll go back to the regular season matchup between these two teams.
Texas beat Ole Miss here in Austin, 79 to 68.
It's a very frustrating game.
Remember, the Longhorn's had an 18 point first half lead.
They went on a 16-nothing run.
They were up 18.
It felt like they were going to blow out Ole Miss and Chris Beard's return to Austin.
And then Ole Miss came all the way back.
Texas was actually down three in the final minutes and the Longhorn's needed a 14-nothing
run at the very end of the game to avoid what would have been a pretty catastrophic loss
at home.
So hopefully you can avoid that.
But the good things for Texas, modest focus Titus had 27 points against Ole Miss the
first time around.
I would ride him all night long.
All for sure.
So I like Ole Miss picked up some big body in the portal in the middle of the season.
And now they have an answer for modest.
It's the same defense that had no answer for him.
And Austin, he needs to stay out of foul trouble and I hope he puts up some big numbers this
evening.
Yeah, they'll need him to play really, really well.
I mean, you know, and Swain needs to play one of those games where he's not giving up shots.
He can be a little selfish tonight.
I agree.
100%.
I mean, Dale and Swain was way too self-liss against Oklahoma.
Took just eight shots against the Suners, had one shot in the final 10 minutes of the
game.
Like, you're the best player on the team.
You're one of the best players in the league.
You have to be more engaged.
And it's interesting.
Like we know Chris Beard's a very good defensive coach.
We've seen it with our own eyes.
Dale and Swain only took five shots against Ole Miss the first time around.
He had seven points.
It's one of his worst games of the year.
So Chris Beard, I guess you're tired of talking to Texas basketball, Chris Beard clearly
game planned to try to slow Dale and Swain down.
I assume they're going to try that again.
Dale and Swain's got it done matter.
I'm going to score tonight.
No, he can't miss around tonight.
He's got to take those shots.
He's got to go through the free throw line.
He's got to do all the things he's been doing all year and not take a game off.
You can't take this game off.
I mean, now you're fighting for your life now.
It's March.
This is it.
I mean, they didn't have enough intensity on Saturday.
I couldn't believe with everything on the line, senior night against arrival that they
just didn't have enough energy to win that basketball.
I can't believe that.
Now, okay, it's in the past.
Can't change it.
Spilled milk.
What do you do now?
They better have it tonight.
And my God, can one of the role players do something weaver, Wilcher, Heidi, Cody?
Did you just say Heidi?
Well, I know what he'll be looking to do.
Hiding.
I said hiding because that's what he's been doing lately.
Those guys combined.
He's a starting five guy.
I know.
Give me a bunch of four-point games, some zero, some twos.
I mean, really?
Those four guys had six points total against Oklahoma.
Man.
Can they get you like 20 total tonight?
Well, just have to remain more.
Why don't you just have Mark get you 28 tonight?
Sure.
That'd be fine.
The big four, obviously, I mean, those are your best.
That dude is not afraid to shoot.
No, he's not.
But I just, I don't think you can bank on those guys bringing it every single night.
It's you'd like to have role players play a role.
That isn't the bad at basketball, because that's the role that these guys have been playing
too much lately.
Yeah, you're right.
I mean, Jordan Pope is going to want to have his shots tonight.
And Jordan Pope coming off the 30 against Oklahoma.
How about that?
Yeah, he's shot at 25 times.
You need your good guys to be good, but someone else has to step up.
No, Lucina Treyore tonight.
He didn't even make the trip to Nashville.
Sean Miller didn't say it, but he's basically like he's done.
There's a good chance he's not going to play the rest of the year.
Like, let's Texas goes on a miraculous run in the NCAA tournament.
I don't expect to see Lucina Treyore play another second of basketball this year, which
is just.
I mean, it's got to be something to do with that guy having surgery when this is all
said and done.
I mean, you're not going to miss this many basketball games if you don't have surgery.
If something is not surgically repaired, well, it's the surgically repaired knee that
is giving him problems.
So he had surgery last year.
I don't know if he's going to need to have another surgery or it's just it didn't he
hold the way that they wanted to, I don't know how much time I do needs.
Yeah, they're not giving us much here.
And but yeah, I just you got a bank on not having your second best big man, the rest
of the way.
That has not made life a whole lot easier for you.
A couple guys, excuse me, but yeah, Texas a five and a half point favorite tonight.
You you were your cousin, have a lean on this one.
I be lean in Texas way.
You know, I was thinking six and a half or more.
Okay.
Now I'm not going to the double digits, but I like to have six and a half days should
win by just win, man.
Yes, please find a way to win so we could.
Yeah, I thought they off course and Chris Beard was mad about something that happened
in the post game handshake line, it was coaches and all these handshake lines.
Can we do we have to do this anymore?
Can we just go to the locker room?
You want to shake hands with a dude you can't shake his hand before the game.
After the game, just about face and go home here.
You're out on sportsmanship.
I'm okay.
If you want to do it.
I mean, it's not a necessity to go down the line and all that stuff.
You know, that's fine.
I like it in women's sports.
I think it's very nice, it's very kind, it's cool because I get to see Kim Malky try
to choke women in the line and stuff like that, opposing players.
That's good.
But dudes, I mean, they shake before the game, head coaches go over and shake each other's
hand.
The players go in, go and patch your buddy on the butt in the warm up line or something.
And after the game, just go to your locker and go home.
So you're okay with sports, woman ship, but not sports, man ship.
Nah, sports, man ship, do it before the game.
Women, you have to shake hands.
You've got to show yours.
No, no, you don't have to.
I mean, I wonder, do you have to be in that line anyway?
What if you're at the bench and you got a knee injury, do you have to get up and go
in that line?
Typically everybody does.
I don't know if it's like a written rule where it's like something bad is going to happen
to you if you don't.
I mean, I like good sportsmanship, yeah, but these things now, there's always some
weird thing.
Somebody shook your hand wrong and it didn't give you the brother shake or somebody
if you got the patch on the back, then you get offended by that.
If you need to do the thing that the little T ballers do or the soccer team does where
mom and dad stand in the line and all the parents going, they run through and all that.
I like that.
That was sportsmanship for me after that, I don't need any more of it.
Well, you're not doing that.
You're not doing that to the other team.
That's your own team.
Oh, the other team comes through there sometimes.
I mean, if there's not enough parents, both teams can go through.
There's no wrong with that.
I mean, I like hockey at the end of a series of playoff series where they shake hands.
That's cool.
That's a great bit.
Yeah, sportsmanship is okay.
I'm fine with the handshake line, but I mean, look, the NBA, the NBA doesn't mean somebody
and I do something to handshake you right the right way.
Well, the NBA, you know, they, they don't have that right.
Some guys will stay on the floor and just tap each other up.
Some guys will go straight to the locker room.
So maybe that's where college gets at some point, but I don't, this wasn't like a weird
I don't know exactly what happened, right?
Chris Beard in his post game presser after Ole Miss lost in Austin.
You know, he was talking about Ole Miss's leading scorer in that game with some guy named
Eduardo Klafke who scored 16 had a really good game and here's Chris Beard.
Actually, cut this up yesterday just to make sure I remembered it, right?
Chris Beard in his post game presser was like talking about, he was asked.
I think it was by Kirk Bowles.
It's like the emotions of this game, right?
Like you're back in Austin, did this game feel different?
Didn't it mean anything more to you?
Your first game back in Texas after you got canned it.
And as Chris Beard was answering that question, I kind of picked it up in the middle here.
Here's, he brings up a weird moment that may or may not have happened in the post game
handshake line.
You know, you told the players, we try to get the guys emotionally attached to each game.
You know, we're always looking for locker room material, somebody disrespect this.
We never pay attention to the odds and all that stuff because I don't understand that.
But I'd be curious, the assistant coach, it doesn't think Klafke dribbles, you know, try
to find clear film proof of that and, you know, if the basketball gods put us against
Texas again in Nashville, then I'm sure we'll kind of use that.
So that was Chris Beard like a month and change ago, basically saying, if the basketball
gods give us another chance at Texas, then we've got some bulletin board material.
And it wasn't picked up by the TV cameras, Sean Miller, I don't think was ever asked about
it.
I don't know which coach it was.
I don't even know if it ever happened.
But Chris Beard after that game was like basically saying, I love another opportunity
to play Texas and he's going to get it.
Yeah, he's getting it.
So whenever it happened, when loser draw, you need to talk about it because we need to
know.
I wonder what the trash dot like he doesn't dribble very much, like is that even bulletin
board material?
Like what's the guy going to do just dribble for 25 seconds every possession to night?
I'll show you I can dribble.
I'm not just a score or I can dribble the ball too.
He's saying, all right, good bulletin board material there.
Whatever he's trying to do there, he needs something and hopefully he'll need it.
Well, it's Chris Beard.
He's a guy who is known for sometimes getting overly mad for no reason.
Sometimes going off on somebody when maybe he shouldn't.
So maybe it's not surprising that that happened in his.
That's interesting.
Yeah, so we'll see if that does anything.
I mean, look, it's a conference tournament when Ole Miss loses their season is done.
So are they playing for a spot in the NCAA tournament?
No, they're nowhere close to that.
They're not going to make the NIT this year.
They were awful, but they've got some seniors on the team guys who will never play basketball
again whenever this year comes to an end that your last game could be your last game.
Yeah, some other conference tournaments have already started a lot of the smaller ones
are already done, but some of the other big like the big 12 started yesterday, a bad
Oklahoma state team won a game.
They have nothing to play for the ACC started yesterday, a bad pit team won a game.
They had nothing to play for like teams aren't just going to say our season's done.
We don't care.
It's like, well, we want to keep playing basketball.
We enjoy doing this.
We know when we lose, we don't get to play for another eight months.
So we're going to fight our ass off to try to die another day.
You're right.
So it takes us better not to come into this game if they're going to have a cake walk tonight.
This group can't think they have a cake walk on any night.
You're right against West Lake Lake Travis.
You're a man of drift in certain high school team here.
No, they have to play hard every night.
Yeah, they do.
Because as hard as they play, we know what the defense is going to give you.
Even against a bad team, BK.
A bad team they were up by 18 on.
Yeah, you're right.
You're right.
God, this year's taken years off of Sean Miller's life.
Oh, you know, it has.
You know, he can't wait till the next season.
It's taken years off my life too, but I hope we continue playing for a little while longer.
What's your it's worth it.
All right, well, take your thoughts.
Texas Ole Miss tonight, the winner of this game will play Georgia in the 10-7 matchup tomorrow.
Texas, of course, split with the dogs during the regular season.
So it'd be part three, but obviously got to get there first.
We will shift gears in a moment.
We got some Texas football to get into.
More sound from Steve Sarkeesian practice going on.
At DKR right now.
So we'll give some updates from day two of spring ball,
but before anything else, how about another round of sponsor shout outs?
Folks, Texans are built differently.
They don't shy away from anything, and they don't back away from a challenge for sure.
And the 2,000 mile journey across the country led by Matt King,
powered by Goldbundance, and driven by one mission,
raised $1 million in create a direct impact in communities along the route.
This isn't about comfort folks.
It's about commitment.
And Matt King is committed to doing this for people all over this country,
not only in the state of Texas, but throughout his journey.
And is a 2,000 mile journey.
And that's a lot of rear-end on a bicycle seat, believe me.
And he's doing a heck of a job, getting himself prepared to do this.
But he's trying to raise a million dollars, folks, to give away a million dollars.
And we need your help by going to, of course, the rideproject.com.
This thing starts, it's going to be from Mexico all the way to Canada.
And I know there's a bunch of people saying, can I join this ride along with them?
Yes, you can donate.
That's how you join the ride, believe me.
So go to therideproject.com for more information,
become a big part of helping Matt get this done.
We're a big part of it, and we can't wait for him to start his journey.
I can't wait for him to start it and end it.
So that seems like a lot of riding, brother.
2,000 miles.
Yes.
Again, I think you and I combined have not biked 500 miles in our lives.
No, probably not.
This guy's doing 2,000 in the span of a couple of weeks, if that.
Yeah, he's going to be on for a long time.
It's going to be a hot ride, and it's going to be a cold ending, probably.
Yeah, it's for a great cause, too.
I mean, Matt King, trying to make a difference around a number of communities
across our great nation, the rideproject.com for more information.
Also, some love to early bird.
Can't wait to have me an early bird before I go play golf today.
Here we go.
Early bird CBD, a local Austin Recreational hemp company that
makes gummies and tinctures and chocolates that are formulated with CBD,
but also with a microdose of THC as well.
So unlike some of the other CBD products, maybe you've tried in the past, you're actually
going to feel these and you're going to feel good when you take these.
You want to take the edge off after a long day of work, you want to hit the golf course,
maybe you want to hit Zilker or Barton Springs, enjoy some of the nice weather that we were
having right now in the spring here in Austin, early bird CBD.
You're going to make your good times even better.
If you have, maybe I wish I would have taken it yesterday so I could have the walking
that I did down to the Texas Lottery Commission where I picked up my $600 because I had three,
the mega ball, the mega game, I had three of the numbers and I had the mega plier.
Three of those numbers plus the mega plier equals $200 plus on the side of it.
It has the number of times you can multiply that and I had three times.
So I got $600 yesterday and I parked down by where Schultz is and I walked up to where
the Lottery Commission is by the Bob Bullock Museum over there and that was New Billings
in that area.
Man, I could have used some of that early bird yesterday.
My knees were humming.
You won the lottery?
You won the lottery?
I won, yeah, I won $600 in the lottery.
Is that a career high?
It is a, now I guess I can't, yeah, it's a career high in the Lottery winnings and
one shot, yes.
All right.
Congrats on that.
Yeah, I need a one more number for like 10,000 and then you would have been 10,000 times
three.
How much did you buy?
How many tickets did you buy?
I probably bought six tickets.
What is that?
30 bucks?
I have five bucks a piece now.
Okay.
All right.
So you spent 30?
You got 600 back?
That'll work.
For this particular drawing, yes.
There's a big one coming tonight, right?
Friday night.
Friday nights.
Yeah, the regular power ball is tonight and that's like 60 million.
But I think by the time we get to the next mega million is drawing, it will be over 650
million, which I'll just take half.
That's what I do.
I just take half.
I can't, I can't spread anything out for 20 years.
That's a long time.
I'm trying to get trying to get things done.
You know what I'm saying?
I'll take half.
Now.
Okay.
And spend it all.
650 million.
Yeah.
60 million.
That ain't shit.
650 million.
Friday.
That's what we need right there.
Yeah.
That is what we need.
All right.
So the walk over there was from, you know, from down by Schultz's and that hard pan hit
me hard, man.
Boy, early bird would have helped me today because that walk on the hard pan around
that area.
Tough.
Think about all the early bird CBD gummies you could buy if you win the lottery.
Oh.
Probably buy early bird CBD if you really wanted to for being honest.
Yes.
Absolutely.
That kind of money.
They'd listen.
I'm sure.
But hey, you don't have to win the lottery because we've got a 20% off discount code.
You type in Bucky at early bird CBD.com.
You're going to get 20% off your first order.
I love these products.
The buck loves these products.
I got family members.
My girlfriend, like a lot of my friends now are on early bird CBD.
We think you're going to love them to give them a go.
For sure.
All right.
Texas spring practice continues.
It's actually going on right now at DKR Texas Memorial Stadium.
So day one, they were at the denniest practice fields today.
They are inside a DKR TMS for the first time.
Still no pads.
It's the shells and shorts bit for the Texas long horns.
We'll have plenty of practice reports tomorrow.
But we do have some more sound from Steve Sarakisian's Monday presser to get into.
And I've seen some clips this morning of the offensive line.
And I've seen some clips of Brandon Baker working at right guard.
Obviously Texas looking for a lot more from its offensive line unit in 2026.
The long horns went out and added a couple of players from the transfer portal,
including a right tackle Melvin Ciani, who actually played left tackle.
But wait for us last year, but that spot is held down by Trevor Goosby at Texas.
So Ciani was brought into play right tackle, which means Brandon Baker, who was this team
starting right tackle last year, needs to find a new position.
He has been working at right guard early on here with Steve Sarakisian on Monday, talking
about the decision to make that change with Baker up front.
I just think when you look at Brandon's measurables and you look at kind of his future of the
game, he's kind of got a guard build.
And quite frankly, that was one of the hopes we were going to have for him last year.
But obviously, Kojo got injured in training camp and he ended up winning the job at right
tackle.
And we're not going to as a richer freshman.
We've got to play the best players we have available.
But I think solidifying ourselves from the inside on that right side of the line with
him and Melvin at right tackle is really beneficial for us long term.
But you know, natural weight is important to me.
I think sometimes just trying to get heavy, you know, one of his strengths is his ability
to move and play with great balance and body control.
And that's something that I think will benefit him now.
Mass is helpful, right?
But we just want to make sure it's the right type of mass as his weight goes up.
Well, was he chubby last year or something?
I thought he looked okay physically.
Yeah.
He's listed at 6'4", 305 pounds.
Yeah.
I mean, that's not overly big.
I mean, that's, he didn't look sloppy last year.
He just looked inexperienced.
That's all to me.
Yeah.
He was one of those guys.
Kind of like Archmanning.
And there's I think a number of different players on Texas that got significantly better
as the year progressed.
Right.
Early on, we were talking about Brandon Baker a lot.
And usually when you're in offensive lineman, it's not a good thing if we're talking about
you a lot.
Because that means you're committing penalties, you're getting beat and things just aren't
going your way.
As the year went along, look, the Texas offensive line progressed.
But the big reason why it was Brandon Baker looked a lot more comfortable out there.
Keep in mind, and he was a red shirt freshman.
It was his first year as a starter.
So understanding of some growing pains there.
And now the hope is that he can make this move because it's like, well, he's finally figuring
out this position.
It's like, I felt like Texas was fine at right tackle.
He's finally figuring out this position, maybe leave him there.
They felt like they had an upgrade with Melvin Ciani, so they moved him inside.
Now the question is, can Brandon Baker be ready to go at this spot from week one versus
having to wait till the midway point of the year like we did in 2025?
Yeah.
I mean, for now, the guy who had experienced a tackle to move inside, you know, the people
over you are either going to be head up to you slightly inside or slightly outside.
When you're outside, when you got the outside guy, that dude can line up four yards to your
outside.
That's different.
You know, I'm saying, and then you get the loopers and everything else out there inside.
You got some protection in there.
So he's protected a little bit.
And then his size, you know, maybe they don't want him to be 33340, maybe 305, obviously
would fit him just well in there, they believe, but out there in space.
And it's not so much just the space part of it.
It's the experience part of the angles that you learn, you know, being out there.
So it's, he was, he would have, he would have been okay, BK as his career would have gone
on.
If he's a guy who's going to, if he's going to be your four year guy out there, maybe
by his sophomore years, as far as junior, he's ready to play out there, but they can't afford
that now.
They need to put him inside and he needs to play inside and play well inside because
they have a guy that can play out there who's had some experience, whether he was left
tackle or not, you're still out there on, but all that space is used to how you're setting
everything else.
It'd be good for him.
Yeah, and I'll always wonder how to be good for him.
Oh, yeah, I hope it's good for him.
And look, it, I don't think Sark is speaking out of his rear end when he says we always
kind of view that as the long term plan from Brandon Baker and maybe we feel like his
best football can be played at guard versus at tackle, always looking for a great tackle.
I heard some stuff about that last year.
Now Baker was recruited as a tackle and he was a five star recruit, but early on, I heard
there was some thoughts that maybe folks projected like long term, especially if he wanted
to play on Sundays that he had a better chance doing that if he shifted inside.
You know, I always wonder, obviously we had a bunch of reports.
We talked about them on this show about the guys that Texas was going after on the offensive
line in the transfer portal and a lot of those guys, obviously the two Michigan players
come top of the line, they ended up staying at Michigan.
Like Melvin Ciani was a pretty late ad for Texas in the portal.
Now a great ad, he's a top five tackle who was in there all off season long.
So I love to pick up.
But like if Sark and Kyle Flood, if they were to hit on the guys they wanted to, would
Brandon Baker still be playing tackle or was it like, well, we missed on the guards that
we wanted.
So now we need to bring in a tackle just to make our overall offensive line better and
we'll shift Brandon Baker inside and see if that works.
Yeah, I don't know.
That's just a total guess of me trying to think of some reason that he would still be
out there.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I don't either.
I don't either.
And I give Sark truth here.
Maybe he'd tell you, but I don't think we're ever going to get the answer to that in
public.
But obviously the offensive line has to be a lot better.
And I'll tell you what, it's a big spring for Jayden Chapman.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're four of the program is going into his red shirt junior season, been here a long
time.
It's very rare that a guy in today's college football is willing to stick around that
long without having been a significant player.
As of right now, I mean, Jayden Chapman got the first team reps at left guard on Monday
in practice number one.
Obviously, Cole Hudson is gone.
Nick Brooks is gone.
Netoumeu Zulu is gone.
Her stroke is gone.
Everybody the long horse tried at left guard and that revolving door is no longer with
us.
But we're really upset about that because none of those guys were very good, unfortunately.
But Jayden Chapman's the guy right now.
Now, Laurence Seymour, we don't know what his deal is, but the NCAA really tried to
crack down on these eligibility cases this year.
Yes.
We are at Tennessee, can't play.
They are fighting like hell to try to prevent Trinidad, Tobago, Chamblis at Ole Miss from
being able to play still seemingly airing on the side of we're not going to give an extra
year of eligibility.
So if you're Texas, look, nothing official yet.
I hope I'm wrong.
You can't operate under the assumption that Laurence Seymour is going to be there.
So somebody is going to have to step up at left guard and make me how hard are you going
to battle us university for that guy, the way things are going.
How far can you go?
You can only go so far.
Right.
I think they'll go as far as they can, but like you said, you can only go so far.
At some point, whether it's time, it's like we're in August, fall camp is here.
We need this guy at practice and if he's not here now, then he can't be a part of the team.
We have to have somebody ready to go.
Or maybe they already know their answer by well before then.
I don't know.
That would be nice.
I mean, the coach is pretty sure they like to have it.
They like to have it by the end of spring, maybe.
Sure.
Well, we've been hearing early March.
I feel like we're past early now, but it's March 11th.
Don't you feel like we're in need at this point?
Maybe after spring break.
Tell us after spring break.
He don't know.
I mean, Sarc was asked on Monday for an update and he's like, I don't have one.
So it's the NCAA dragging their feet the way they so often do.
Yes, they do.
I'm going to assume they're going to say no.
I have no reason besides, again, what's happening around the country.
Everything's different.
So it could be a yes.
But yeah, I do think Texas will take this to the courts and try to fight for Lawrence
Seymour and then we go from there.
But with all of the uncertainty floating in the air, you need somebody at left
guard to make you believe that you actually have a good left guard.
Yeah, I mean, they're doing the right thing with Baker.
And I think, now to more, I think about it, his future was probably inside anyway,
because you're always looking for a great tackle, BK.
Like I said, left tackle, right tackle, depending on what your quarterback is.
It doesn't matter.
You need those guys out there to be really, really good.
And if you've got it, you've got enough looks at Baker for an entire year to say, you
know what, that guy would be really effective inside.
He was going to be OK outside, but it may have taken him another year or another, you
know, spring and fall camp and some more experienced games.
But you look at him now and say, yeah, he can move inside him.
He can move inside pretty easily, you know, the area that he has to cover isn't that
much.
He's got help on both sides of himself.
This is where he's better suited for.
He probably, I bet you he's feeling that way too.
Everybody wants to be a tackle.
All those big guys would love to be have great feet, but eventually you have to play.
Well, you're talking about Brandon Baker, he can't play both guard spots.
No, he can play one of them.
And I get the thought process of moving him there, but OK, even if he's great at right
guard, which I hope he is, still need a left guard.
Like you had Trevor, Trevor, Trevor Gooseby was a first team all SEC left tackle last season.
And because the left guard was so bad, the left side of the offensive line was a big problem.
So like that's, yeah, Baker's great.
I'm excited about him too.
Again, I'm, I guess a little nervous because he's moving positions, but I trust that the
coaching staff knows what they're doing with that, but again, he can't be your left guard
and your right guard.
So you got to find two.
You can't have a weak left guard.
I told you so last year.
Right.
You got to have two of those guys that you feel great about.
So that's a big priority and my biggest concern for this Texas team right now without
question.
Three to three and a half years, huh?
Three year, three year, three year, three year, four gap.
This is, yeah, this will be year four for him.
Wow.
He's, he's appeared in 13 games in his first three seasons.
Has not started big game at Texas.
So action in six games this past season, I got to see if those are all offensive snaps
or special team snaps.
Um, yeah, it's not a lot of playing time, but he is old.
So that's good.
That is good.
We need to be old and good.
Right.
We need you to be old and good.
Care way more about the good than the old.
Yes.
Absolutely.
Uh, one more bit of sound here from Steve Sarkiesian.
He was asked, how much can you implement on your offense this early on?
A lot of return ease, but also a ton of new faces with the skill position guys with
some guys up front.
It's the first week of spring ball.
How much can you implement this early on versus just installing the basics?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's usually, um, you know, it takes us about from just a base kind of offense.
It takes about a good four days to lay a foundation.
Um, and then you start getting into your third down.
You start getting into your red area in two minute.
And then that gets us through about halfway through spring.
And then the second half of spring, now we can go back and start doing kind of the complimentary
things off of that foundation.
Um, and so again, we're, we're, we're, we're just land bricks right now.
You know, we're, we're, we're putting the foundation down and again, a lot of new faces,
right?
Um, from the quarterbacks, the running backs, the tight end, the receivers, you can go across
the board, the lineman.
Um, but I do think we are pretty mature as an offensive team right now for the new
faces.
The transfers help that.
But I would even say even our young players, like Diaz, a very mature young man, like football
makes sense to him.
So I think we're probably a little further along with our younger players.
Um, but again, day one, um, but we, we're going to need to add to this stuff as we go and,
and start to lean into, you know, some ideas that we had throughout the off season of things
that we either want to get better at or want to add to the offense, but we need to learn
the players too.
Um, because again, you know, we got to make sure that we're putting our players in position
to have success.
Um, and so what do they do well?
And then how do we, how do we, how do we do more of what they do well so that they can
be the best players that they can be?
Yeah, I mean, terminology is different for a lot of guys when you bring a lot of new
guys in the, you know, people will, will tell you that, oh, no, football is football.
No, the terminology gets different.
Guys learn in a different pace.
You know, you got to get to know the, the, the system coaches got to get to know their
players.
How to coach them up.
One guy may learn, you know, a little bit different than the other.
Well, they all learn differently.
Everybody has to learn the same.
I mean, that's just light.
So you got to make sure that you get all the fundamentals down.
It's about the fundamentals at first week anyway, you know, talking about, you know,
no pads on, staying up, things like that.
This is, this is the language that we use in this kind of blocking scheme where you start
really getting into a little bit of BK when they get back.
That's why they don't like to have to go and repeat what you learn before you left
for spring break.
Yeah.
And that's, that's kind of hard depending on how hard you hit it during spring break.
I'm serious.
It's, it's, that's a, that's tough on coaches when guys come back and they, they've kind
of, they didn't retain a lot of stuff.
You know, some of the airhead guys still remain airhead guys when they get back.
The ones that you struggle with in the first two days, you let them go on spring baking,
come back and think, oh, they're going to be much smarter when they get back.
Not so much, my friend.
So it's, that the different terminology and that kind of stuff is, it's tough, it's tough
to start putting in a bunch of things that are different than, than you do on your basic
stuff in the first couple of days anyway.
And you expect, and they're expecting their quarterbacks, not to do anything but learn
when they're away from this game.
All those guys, you know, Bell and all the other guys that are around this as quarterbacks,
they don't expect, they don't care about their beach time.
They don't give a rat's ass if they don't do anything but go home or stay on campus and
learn.
They could care less about them getting away from school, getting away from, you know,
winter workouts, coaches don't care.
You're the quarterback.
Don't come back here at dumbass.
Sorry.
That's not going to work for anybody.
You can't, it's not that in your quarterback anyway.
What's the saying about dumbasses on the football field?
Like I'll hand it to a dumbass, I'll throw it to a dumbass but I won't snap it to a dumbass.
No, you, that guy has to be, I don't care if he's through the portal or he's been a freshman,
now he's a sophomore.
They can't, they can't start re-teaching guys after spring break that are quarterbacks.
Those guys, that's 24-7 with them.
That's, that's, that's a two o'clock in the morning when everybody else is playing battleship
galactica or whatever they play with their buddies.
Those guys are looking over plays.
I don't know if they're still playing that.
They're not doing Kyler Murray things.
They're in the narrow stuff.
Well, here's the good news in archmaning, tier three for him in this system.
Right.
Lacey, who's presumably QB two, it's his second year in the system.
Still learning, still very much learning.
Of course, but like it's not like these guys are starting from scratch.
Like they know the verbiage, they know the lingo, they know Steve Sarakizan's offense.
Obviously, there's more added and things changed every year, but like your top two guys
at least have been here at the most important position on the field.
Now, Dia Bell is a true freshman, MJ Morris, your other quarterback.
He's a transfer.
So those guys are behind the eight ball a little bit from that.
At least at quarterback with your top two guys.
It's not a start from zero.
Like it kind of is for your two running backs for Cam Coleman for some of your offensive
lineman.
Again, their experience, dude, they know what they're supposed to do.
They just have to learn how it's described and how it's worded here at Texas and seems
like that's going to take some time.
Yeah, well, just to be expected in your offense and your offense and, you know, and
terminology is really probably so different from the defensive guys and they've heard it
from one guy for a lot of years.
Defense has a lot to change because even if you've been at Texas the last few years,
it's a new terminology in verbiage.
So it may take them a little bit longer to get that figured out.
All right.
We'll continue more Texas football chatter tomorrow.
We'll have some practice reports from day two during tomorrow's show.
We got to get to the BBK news here in a moment, though.
You're going to tell me about Sam out of bio.

BBK News.
We could start with history being made in the association last night Miami Heat Forward
BAM out of bio a career 16 point per game score put up 83 points in South Beach last
night and Miami's victory over the Washington Wizards 83 points the second most in a single
game and NBA history, obviously behind Wilts Chamberlain's 100 BAM out of bio passing
Kobe Bryant to score 81 that was second for a long time and out of bio is very good
player.
He's a multi time all star but not the guy I thought was going to break Kobe's record
or second place record however you want to describe it.
Yeah.
I do not want to disrespect that guy or take anything away from him but boy he got a lot
of points given to him last night.
Just some of the some of the officiating down the stretch there was just they were getting
into it into the swing of things of record breaking and I thought they did a poor job.
Some of these some of the official some of these calls at the end where they sent them
to the free throw line to make you know give me baskets and stuff.
Nothing nothing for that first half that 50 points deal in the first half or whatever
it was 52 was marvelous even into the third quarter but once they started getting record
breaking close to some of the guys some of the calls that were on him were like it's not
a foul.
Come on.
This is the NBA.
What is this?
It's in CYO basketball where if a guy comes near you you call it so he can get a record.
I thought that was like I said I'm not disrespect him I mean he had to make a lot of 36 free throws
dude.
36.
You can't say you're not disrespecting him after literally disrespecting him for the
last two minutes.
36 free throws.
He shot 43 of them.
Yeah.
Yeah.
43 free throws.
No.
No way.
He left seven points on the board.
He could have gone for 90 if he made all of his freebies.
He was 36 of 43 from the charity stripe.
Oh, I'm sorry.
36 of 44 from the charity stripe.
Yeah.
And nothing against who they're playing against.
No, I mean, I know there's going to be folks are going to say, well, they're playing against
Washington.
I'm not.
Those guys are NBA players.
Sorry.
It's just that I thought the officials got too much into he's getting close.
Oh, that's a foul.
That's foul.
Get him on a free throw line.
Let's see if there's.
Well, here's the thing like the Wizards were double and triple teaming him and like they
were getting very physical with him.
And a lot of like bam was not in the mood to pass the ball and his teammates were not
in the mood to get past the ball.
So everybody everybody was wanting him to break the record and the Wizards were triple
teaming him to try to make him pass.
But he wasn't passing and then they'd like reach in and they'd foul them.
So I don't know.
I mean, look, 43 free throws is absurd.
Don't get me wrong.
It was 43.
We were right.
The first time.
Sorry.
Yeah.
You have to get into it as an official.
You have to really get into it.
It's a guy to the line that many times.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know that the most.
If you really care about Kobe's scoring record and didn't want it to go down, I think
the most ridiculous part of last night's festivities was the fact that, you know, Miami
was blowing out Washington.
They were up by 20 something points in the last couple of minutes.
The game was over and they were fouling Washington to stop the clock.
To get the ball back on offense.
Like they fell Washington.
Oh, you can have these two points at the free throw line.
We don't care.
We're going to win.
We just want the clock to stop.
We want this game to drag out so we could get the ball to bam more and give him an
opportunity to get over 81.
Yeah.
I mean, I've been a part of record breaking deals.
You know, with Howard having eight touchdowns in the game, you know, all of a sudden we're
up by by almost three touchdowns, not quite three touchdowns and and Kripp goes back in
the game.
And he scores his eighth touchdown.
I don't feel bad.
I don't feel bad.
But I thought last night, I think they got too many people got.
I thought the officiating was giving him not giving up the ball.
And I saw two, two there weren't pals.
They were called, you know, we didn't throw in his arms up in the year.
I'm like, okay, send him back to the line.
I don't mind breaking records.
I mean, within the framework of the game, you know, and I, you know, you know, and if
you're close, I understand the coach not taking them out.
I mean, that, hell, Will Chamberlain, hundred points, everybody would think that that was
just taking a bunch of, a bunch of six, five guys and I got seven foot, just dunking
over everybody, you know, you had heat players, other heat players intentionally missing
free throws so they could quickly foul Washington players so they could get the ball back on
offense to bam out of bio like that's that's not within the framework of the game framework
my ass.
There you go.
That's breaking records.
That's everyone's everyone's a hater.
I saw someone last night say that this was way more unethical than anything Kobe Bryant
ever did.
I was like, what about those rape allegations?
Yeah.
Wow.
We're forgetting those.
You know, the guy's dead.
But I don't know if Kobe Bryant and ethics are things we want to use in the same sentence
very often.
I said, I don't mind breaking records, but I just thought some of the, the calls were
at the end.
This was got into it just like some of the players like you said, some of the players
did.
He was 20 of 43 from the floor, 36 of 43 from the free, free, free, free line.
The previous record for most free throws made in a game was 28.
So he shattered that record.
This is a guy again, very good player.
He's been an all star multiple times in this league, but average is one I thought was
could be the guy to do that.
He averages 19 points per game.
I felt like Luca a couple of years ago went over 70, which was a big deal because there
haven't been a lot of guys who have done that.
It's like, well, Luca average is 30.
So still obviously an outlier statistical performance, but like, okay, he's constantly
amongst the league leaders and points per game.
It makes sense that a guy like that could have a night like that.
But bam out of bio, a guy who averages five free throws per game.
And just shy of 19 points per game for him to get to 83 and then 43 free throw attempt.
Nobody really saw that one coming.
No, no, I did not.
But I'm going to respect it.
I'm going to appreciate greatness.
I do appreciate it, too, being number two.
Not a hater.
I'm not a hater like you are.
I'm not a hater.
I'm not letting you say you appreciate it after spending five minutes now talking about
how unethical or what you can't, you can't get both.
I'm not calling it unethical.
I'm just saying that the officials got tied up in it, too.
Not within the framework of the game.
I guess.
Sorry, I'm not telling you to back down from your take.
I'm just saying you can't have both sides.
Yeah, I think Wilkard has probably got a hundred on me for sure.
Wilkard got a thousand on you.
A hundred.
What?
A hundred?
That's it.
We got a hundred on the NBA players.
You're saying he barely could have gotten that against you?
Oh, man.
It's just a time would have run out.
Dude, if it were like, I mean, they'd steal the ball from you every time you touched it,
and they'd get it to Wilk.
And if he's being guarded by you, that's an easy do's every single time he has the ball.
He's going to miss sometimes.
I make him go to the free throw line.
He wouldn't great at the free throw line.
He wouldn't great at the free throw line, I can't imagine.
How many free throws did he miss in that hundred point game?
We know.
I mean, he left some points on the board, too.
Obviously no three point line for.
I think damn shot the ball a hundred times.
Kobe shot at 46 times, I believe.
I think it was 43.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's big.
Jordan Pope almost shot that the other day.
He only scored 30.
He didn't shoot that much.
So there you go.
Congrats to Bam.
Yeah.
Wild.
Wild.
Wild.
Wild.
Second.
It's in a single game.
That's a lot of points in NBA history.
Yeah, it is.
83 is a lot of points.
All right.
Last thing before we go, we've got another edition of, would you eat this Wednesday?
Uh oh.
I think the answer for you is obvious, because this is an alcoholic beverage.
So I know you're, would I, would I, would I have done it before?
Yeah.
Let's do that.
Would you have done this in your drinking days?
We are talking about alcohol here.
Yes.
We're also talking about Buffalo Wild Wings here.
Ooh.
Buffalo Wild Wings.
Do you know what they sell?
Yeah.
I'm touching with your hands.
Don't touch the chicken wings with your hands.
That's right.
Yeah, you're, uh, you like to fork and knife chicken wings, which is just, uh,
imagine it.
It's really bad.
Yeah, you're right.
It's 25 to life in my eyes, to be close to or yes, with you.
Well, Buffalo Wild Wings, obviously known for their chicken wings and some other food items.
They are introducing a new item just in time for National Espresso Martini Day, which
is coming up on March 15th.
Buffalo Wild Wings is releasing a chicken wing flavored Espresso Protein.
Oh, it is a cocktail that is infused with Buffalo dry wing rub and jam packed with 10 grams
of protein.
Starting to a news release from the folks at B Dubs, there's been this crazy protein
craze lately.
Have you heard about this book?
Yeah, everybody is looking for protein.
I am too.
I'm sure you see it on every commercial, right?
Every company is pregnant about how much protein is in their food or their drink or
their whatever.
Buffalo Wild Wings is riding the protein hype and they are adding an Espresso Protein, which
is made with classic Espresso Martini Ingredients, plus Muscle Milk Protein Powder, and Muscle Milk.
Yeah, Muscle Milk Powder, Muscle Milk Powder with Buffalo Dry Rub.
That's also going to be served on the drinks rim.
You know how sometimes people put salt or sugar or to heat.
Yes.
They are going to put some dry rub on the rim and you can get this as an alcoholic beverage.
This weekend only for $12.
No, that's instant diarrhea and I'm not about having diarrhea.
You're out on the diarrhea.
No, I can't sacrifice 25 minutes of diarrhea for that meal.
No.
So here's a little picture right there next to a tray of B Dubs Wings and that is the Espresso
Protein.
Did you ever drink the Espresso Martini back in the day, Buck?
No, I had a few margaritas in my day, but I didn't drink a lot of margarine.
I didn't drink a lot of tequila.
I just never wasn't into it.
Well there is no tequila.
It's typically vodka's in the Espresso Martini.
I feel like this is a newer drink.
Maybe it was around back in the day, but I think it's gained a ton of popularity in the
last five to 10 years.
We made with vodka, coffee, liqueur, fresh Espresso to a lot of people like it.
It's like you're drinking and you want to stay awake and you want to stay out long or
boom, here's a little bit of Espresso with your booze and also some simple syrup.
So you've got those ingredients I assume plus Muscle Milk Protein Powder plus Wing Rub mixed
in.
No, and see, when my stomach goes bad, it goes bad in a hurry.
Even though people have that slow boil or they boil, you know, the 45 minutes later
an hour later, your stomach starts to grow a little bit.
Minds does it within about five minutes of something that I eat that I know is totally
wrong.
And before 15 minutes is up, I'm just resting.
I got my shoes off, my pants all the way off on the toilet.
That's it.
I'm in a mode that I know I'm not leaving anytime soon.
That's not worth it right there.
That's the Jurassic Park quote, your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could
that they didn't think they didn't stop to think if they should.
Yeah.
That's that right there.
It sort of feels like this.
Like, yeah, we can make this, but should we make this?
I know this.
You're not giving up those wings.
Those wings are going down for you.
I don't know if that drink is going down, but those wings are gone.
I'll tell you this.
I'm going to try this this weekend.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
It's only at participating locations.
So we'll see if I'll probably call in advance to the Austin ones to see if they have this.
If they do, I will give this a go and report back to the people.
Please do.
Espresso, proteinie helps here out on that.
I'm out.
I'll have them.
I would have been out back in the day.
Even though I needed to have that alcohol in me, it wouldn't have been in that form.
And for that reason, I'm out as they say on Shark Tank.
Absolutely.
All right.
That'll do it for a Wednesday show.
Thank you all so much for tuning in.
We'll be back tomorrow, hopefully recapping a Texas basketball win.
We'll have Texas football spring practice nuggets.
We'll probably chop it up with someone who is at Texas spring practice today.
Get their insight on everything that's been going on.
But we're out of time.
Great show today, my friend.
Same to you, brother.
Appreciate y'all tuning in.
We'll talk to y'all tomorrow.
Welcome.
Thank you.
Bucky & BK
