Bud Clark: NFL Draft Prospect

Bud Clark, the standout safety from TCU, just wrapped up a strong college career and is

projected as a fourth-round pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

The 6-foot-1, 188-pound senior from Louisiana played in more than 60 games for the Horned

Frogs.

He led the team in interceptions three straight years, including a career high five picks in

his freshman and final seasons.

Clark started as a top high school recruit, ranked 13th best in Louisiana and 31st nationally

at safety.

He flipped his commitment from Virginia to TCU and arrived in 2020.

An injury forced a red shirt in 2021, but he bounced back strong as a red shirt freshman

in 2022.

That breakout year helped propel TCU to the national championship game, earning him all

big 12 honorable mention.

As a captain in 2023 and 2024, he added three and five picks respectively, landing all

big 12 second team honors.

Twice.

Teammates and coaches praised his leadership in the secondary, scouts love his 4.41

speed downhill, sharp instincts in zone coverage, and ball skills at the catchpoint.

He stays sticky in man coverage too.

Areas to watch include his lighter frame against the run, tackling consistency and occasional

fall steps on play action.

Looking ahead, Clark could thrive as a free safety patrolling the back end.

Teams like the Washington commanders who added runstoppers like Nick Cross this off season

might target him to round out a crowded but versatile group.
