This podcast is brought to you by a good friend at Love Broke's Charlie Friday night, two of the NRL's biggest rivalry,
self-sidney rabbit holes and the Sydney Roosters go head-to-head.
The book affudes Jimmy another chapter and it's the Sydney Roosters against the South Sydney
rabbit holes. The roosters are slight favorites, paying a dollar and 80 cents while the bunnies are
two dollars and two cents. Do you want to know what AJ is for two tries, Jimmy? Go on, give it to me.
Three dollars and five cents. And what's the odds on a pitch invasion? Love Broke's not promoting that
market. The NRL aren't promoting it, but we are hopefully AJ can back to what a place to do it.
One dollar and three cents for the pitch invasion of my eyes, Jimmy. I think we will see it,
should Johnson go over for two, but I've been on the lab broke set up and I was going to do a
same game, multi myself, but I've been looking at the popular same game multi's and this is all
about some try-scoring action. So Alex Johnson, any time try-scorer James Tadesco is in any time
try-score and La Trelle Mitchell who is in fine form in that left centre expect to see him get
plenty of opportunities against his old club that three leg same game multi is paying seven dollars
and thirty nine cents. Wow, a lot of popular same game multi as well takes the guesswork away, Jimmy.

Hello and welcome everybody to the buy round last Vegas recap. I'm joined by Luke Kiri. He has
fantastic football the nights off to winning ways under Justin Holbrook and a golden point
a golden point thriller for the Bulldogs. How good morning after two fantastic games. This game
is a little bit a little bit dire but Eric and Hull had been having a little party since the
World Club challenge but the fans honestly for Andy's always raised up we've got to get something
how do we get that singing culture. That's a good point I'd love to see it in Australia I think
each team having anthems like walk out songs could be amazing like think about the Broncos and
they do Chelsea Dagger after they scored all that and it's you know if you're the opposition you're
like oh god not this again but I reckon there's something to it like having a a walk out theme song
it is because we were up in that box for that start out game and everyone stopped just to listen
like Charlie was in the crowd yeah he picked the one blood he picked the one blood with no
oh my god he was gone wasn't he absolutely gone but it's been another fantastic week away
how'd you go last night it was actually not too bad so called the first game for triple M had
some drinks in one of the corporate boxes for the dogs then went met a couple of mates and not
nothing too crazy just just steady away I wanted to get away from the whole NRL after party scene
yeah just needs to separate myself how about you it was good because the first time I've ever sat
there I was sitting there last night I had about four or five Jerno's around me and I'll include
Charlie as well he's got the sunrise he's he's been in and about this week but first
time I ever sat there the Jerno's are welcome it's they all tried to get really good wasn't allowed
in little john because he didn't have idea which which is little john is that bar let's go oh the
sorry little john it's not a name of a bar today I was like where's little john I've not seen that
really stuck out the Friday records he needed to get in a video for his first kids oh dear but
it's another great week successful week the season starts with the Baron here in Las Vegas talk of
where to next case we had the privilege to talk with people on these yesterday and he seems very very
strong on London yeah it's interesting to hear the different chat from around I've seen Nick
Pilitis was over here there's a lot of power brokers from different sides in the chat about the
global around coming up and where certain sides wanted to go and things like that and then to
have Peter in his interesting interesting chat he talked about it being seasonal who say it wasn't
just like a round zero or one it was like London would have been in somewhere in the middle of the
year or things like that which I don't mind the idea I know the NFL spread their global reach
across the season it's obviously a little bit different with us and state of origin
and you can't affect travel around that too much but I guess we'll see but I think London makes makes
sense London would be artist love Vegas has worked really well because there's been four in our
old teams here and then the two English sides last two years so it's like a hub for everyone I
think what is she is the dogs and the trucks if you took them to London right 24 hour flight how many
are we actually going to get over there where's you know man if you take four you were taking four
to Vegas you're getting four sets of fans plus you're getting people from other clubs plus you're
getting English fans over like it all the last ladle a little bit I think I'll take this take
the gloss off it just to touch see I think if you go to London and the idea would be let's bring
Australian New Zealand fans to the event in London and then also UK Super League fans and
the idea would be the international watching watching from overseas reintroduce the NRL to some
people that live over there or you know they're with the key reason and the Aussies and whatnot but
I think there's a huge upside novacy the trickle on effect for potentially the the European
Super League which you know we spoke with Valandis yesterday as well when he's put a three-month
deadline on this that was it that was an honest that was an interesting chat because
there's been a lot of chat about the TV deal it's coming up but he's yeah he said
they've got three months with the there's obviously been communication they were he's put something
on the table and said this is what it's going to look like and he said they've got three months
to come back if they miss that deadline would it's with and the NRL going to move forward and do
their TV deal and once that TV would TV deal is done all the leverages gone for the Super League.
Yeah it's a huge moment in the history of the game in England and France I believe
you know we all like to think we've got our own house in order and we're going great we've got
the challenge cope and you know some new teams coming into the comp and we've got the best rating
since 2012 we don't need their help we can run this ship we want to look after ourselves I get
that but at the end of the day I can only go off my experience of being in the NRL since 2012
and how much I've seen it advance and grow and just get stronger through adversity of COVID and
some tweaks in the rules and the game has never been in a better place and so exciting to be a
part of where I contrast that with the Super League and I don't know the finer details of things
but what I all I can see is stagnation and maybe that's putting it politely maybe it's been declined
so if you're comparing both of those products which have been a part of or both of those businesses
because that's what sport is now it's a business yes it's passion yes it's the fans yes it's the
tail of the underdog tail of the promotion relegation which is a big part of European
sport and culture yes it's Bradford back in the comp but it's business and if we if they I say they
we if the Super League don't capitalize on this opportunity it like you know valandes has said
it's it's heading for a train wreck but what we maybe to some of some of our listeners that don't
quite understand the structure over there that it's a club voting system which is bizarre that you've
had some people and that because they were in like a business the clubs do they don't want to see
to lose come into the into the comp because well if I'm at Lee St Alan's Bradford leads whatever
I've got a home game against to lose they're not going to bring any fans which means I'm not going
to collect that gate I'd rather you know a local team a team close by that might bring
five thousand five hundred a thousand fans and I'll get that money I don't want to lose but then
that's not thinking about the game that's thinking about your club your business which I can
understand from from their point of view but they're voting for that Solford were in administration
and they had a vote on whether Toronto could come into the comp it's like what are you doing
it's yeah it's it's small-minded thinking and he even said it in there he said we've got no issues
he said the big clubs have had reached out to them so I'm guessing I know it was St Helen's
warrington leads I'm I'm guessing Hulke are we're part of that part of that now Wigan I know
Wigan are on board with it he said it's the smaller clubs that have that are pushed back against it
and it is bizarre it's it's bizarre and it almost sounded like he sounded like when he's speaking
he was like this isn't worth it unless they just hand everything out what will they have to
they have to hand complete control over because if they don't they won't be able to affect change
because we've seen over there how hard change is to come by because so many people have a
sat at the table and you're so reliant on bringing everybody with you if the commissioner to go
in and it'd be round like it is here in Australia you get things done at a quicker speed like
half the time the battle is getting the people in the room to talk about making a decision
no I reckon 95% of the fans even that we've spoken to and the ones over there that I met like
they all want it to happen yeah because they know their game is good they just need
they need some lead like they need a leader they need leadership they need a governance structure
that's going to allow them to go their TV deal halved half to COVID which is and that's what I think
Peter's talking about about they're heading for a train wreck he probably doesn't think
they're going to get more than what they are now but obviously when you package it it'd be
interesting to see the changes they made I reckon personnel would be the big one I reckon he'd
send a few people he really trusted over there to help kind of run the game and get all those
owners back in line and and sorted but I hope we do see it because like imagine the collaborations
they could have different rounds around the world the World Club challenge would be sorted out
properly the international game would be in a much better place all aligned for the first time
in our games history NRL Super League international all on track I mean I spoke with Grant
and Down Lockier from the London Broncos and we're asking about well how do you get into
Super League they don't know they don't know so I think they don't have a CEO at the moment
one of the rooms here yeah yeah it's and I think there's some quick fixes there they could see
quick results I think there's some low hanging fruit we've spoken before about that the product
changing some governance things it may even lead to the rebranding of the Super League to become
NRL Europe which I don't think is a particularly bad idea you know being here in the states we want to
talk about rugby rugby league it's NRL that seems to catch on a bit a bit easier like the NFL
but I think that you the the Super League they need to get their act together because
three months on the clock it'll promote investment it's probably like like chicken or the egg first
fix the product bring investment in yeah or do you invest and then fix the product up but
you watch like Down Lockier and his business partner they've already invested I reckon on the
knowledge that they thought something might happen over there in terms of NRL take over
they go in there I can guarantee you money starts pouring in from in and around England Europe
and Australia like like mate we came here the first year and Nick was Nick had this chat where he's
like I love what they're doing I mean he's poured the clubs poured all this money into the LA roosters
right there's no but this is a guy who loves rugby league and he's trying to grow the game in
America like he like they may not imagine some of those people putting that money into some English
clubs or like different grassroots you know I mean like it's yeah for me it's everybody wins
it's one of those deals that you go look there are some people that going to have to give over
some control and it's going to be potentially risky for them but for the greater good of the game
all around they've just got to do this like they have to otherwise maybe it won't die but it'll
just yeah well just fiddle away into insignificance we the fans are there and there's so many fans
that I think desperate to see the game flourish and I know the popularity of the NFL over in England
why are those people watching that and not watching the Super League like it just seems crazy to
me that like you'd rather support or follow a a comp in America but the fact that it's it's advertised
and there's so many shows in and around the game like you know you're on Channel 7 now there's
360 there's nine do there 100% 40 like these shows in and around the game that are on the main
broadcast channels it's all promotion for the game it gets people talking about what just happened
and what about to come and it used to be a show there called Boots and All and it was just one
one day a week and now it doesn't exist the game is more than the 80 minutes that we've seen
the other eight eight fixtures the game is you know is this yeah and they've obviously lost that
leverage with sky yeah sky pulled way back on their investment in the game and we're the opposite
here right yeah Fox of of pouring money into the game nine our Channel 7 are coming in
like Peter was saying there was YouTube down there and like we've got all these people pouring
money in and they're pulling money away and that that's part of it fans can't follow it through
in the week there and things like that but hopefully three months someone over there
sort saying it's going to be difficult like you said you got to get the owners in a room and
all agree to well to do something about it this podcast is bought you by Nord VPN and as you can see

rogues charlie it seems strange to say this but there's a lot riding on this game between the
manly seagulls at home against last year's world and spooners the Newcastle nights yeah a lot of
pressure already on the manly seagulls and Anthony seabob the seagulls paying a dollar 57 the new
castle nights two dollars 45 of course without fletcher sharp and the line is four and a half points
yeah Charlie like you say a lot riding on this one i want to stay away from the match betting and
just go focus purely on the tri scores for my same game multi i'm going to throw in dom young
anytime collar anytime and Tommy to boy with anytime which is paying eight dollars and 55 cents
i like your thinking Jimmy it's going to be a hot Sunday afternoon twenty six degrees at
brookie oval a fast dry track plenty of points yeah probably should have threw in the overs on
the total point but i want to stick with those three tri scores teasing sees apply and available
on the website odds are subject to change what's gambling really costing you for free and
confidential support visit gambling help online dot org dot to you um we'll start with the bulldogs
great win against the dragons but somewhat controversial uh coach flanagan post game
to say not happy with the officiating would be an understatement uh specifically the big call in
the second half golden point um loose carry bronze and cherry given a strip from one of the
couchman boys triple nose true no it's it's hard here in los vegas strippers everywhere
ma'sas ma'sas ma'sas mo很多 ma'sas ma'sas ma'sas suddenly dropped one off the kick i'll play
too it was it nilly the exact same we actually glossed over a little bit on the call
because we're wondering if they're going to kick the goal from fifty two out or not
And then I saw sitting in the casino after and I were getting about 50 drag and supporters
coming to me and said, did we get robbed?
So I went up, me and Wade were sitting together and we went on and had a look.
They're 50, 50 calls, but I would have loved to just let it go in golden point.
They didn't, it's not like, they're fidgeting wasn't bad, they didn't get robbed and
there wasn't a load of bad calls. They just, they didn't get many things and the
Bulldogs didn't give them much. No. The Bulldogs weren't, they were really disciplined,
they didn't drop much ball. I thought the Beth the team won.
Yes, Dragon's hunting it. I thought the Beth the team won. But you don't always get what
you do. Yeah, you don't always get what you deserve and maybe it's probably a very harsh way
to finish what is a fantastic week. You know, I think that was the words that Coach Flanagan was
using that they'll be, he will be so proud of them this morning. Yeah, we can end it up.
They defended 30 something tackles to 10 or 11 in, in like 30 tackles in the Dragon's half
for the Bulldogs and he knows 10 for the, for the dragons in the 20 meter of the dogs, but
they just defend like the Bulldogs attack was really good. I was impressed. Galvin was,
Galvin, he had 40 touches after. I'm not sure what he ended up with. He was on ball,
but I loved the way they played Burton out the back of stuff. He played like a,
like a traditional five eight. They were really good. They just couldn't quite break him down.
Sometimes I reckon that a lot had to do with the width of the field. They nearly had a couple
of times, nearly stripped him a few times. The dragons just never stopped. I could see it coming,
like the words coming from Flanagan during the week. He'd set up this, you could feel this ambush.
I can't, we can't, we can't. He can't, this would have been in there. They would have been like
everyone, they would have got everyone who tipped him for the spoon up on the, they would have had your,
your ladder prediction out of a Charlie's ladder prediction out, but they would have just,
it would have, it was all set up for a little ambush. Yeah. And I thought they did
outstanding. Yeah. They should wake up. That's not a bad loss at one. Nobody fell for Coach
Phanagan's pregame. We can't win the comp. Like we, we, we, we know coaches are very calculated
with the choice of words and their timing of their statements. And yeah, especially after the,
the poor trial form, he needed, it was a message with designs and there's no way he actually
thinks that he thinks they can win the comp. Definitely. They got, like he said, the better team,
probably one of the dogs, the dogs performed well. Dragons held on,
there's, they, they nearly, the bulldogs with four and a half minutes to go out of scrum.
10 meters out in front. There's, you're kicking it, you're one or two plays and kicking a
few gold. They ran the whole set out and ran the pool on the last tackle. There's a heat to learn.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like Calvin, as good as he was, they mismanaged that whole back end. They
mismanaged golden point, even to that point with 30 seconds to go where they stood there,
wondering whether we should kick it out or kick the goal. And Stephen Crockton ends up walking in
and getting it. Yeah. He said, get out of my way. Let me finish this off. Like there's a lot to
learn for them, but the signs are there. You could tell the Adam O'Brien difference in my opinion,
what he's done. There's clear, Calvin Ombal Burton 6. I do feel there is some improvement in the
the dogs attack though. So I felt they were quite deep with their, with their chefs, which they
create that overlap. But then the dragons, the cover across in behind was it, it happened far
too many times where you just wonder where the dogs too deep. Do they need to change some angles,
come underneath? I felt like it was a third layer. So Calvin and Burton were real good. Calvin was
like diving deep into the line. And it was probably that third layer with Tracy at the back with
the centers and the width of the field doesn't help, but I do agree with you. They just missed it by
a meter or two, just on the end of, on the end of some stuff. As proud as Flano will be, I've said
this before about the dragons, they would have looked at last year all those games that they'd lost
by six points or less, less one score. Or if we can just get a few of those over the line,
what it'll do for confidence, what it'll do for all the scoreboard, that will be, that's another
game that they're going to lose by six points or less. Well, you said it. You said, you said, I just
don't know if they have that player to win them those games, what we've seen. And they had the chance,
like I think it was that just before half time in Golden Point. And Daniel Acton's any just
didn't get himself in the right position. Bailey Hay would save the game then they like to kick one
from 50, but if he could have just got himself in the right spot. And that's a difference. He gets
himself there. They win that game and the whole narrative today is completely completely different,
completely, but I thought Acton's end was good without being great. He kicked really well,
he played like a genuine seven. I was surprised at how controlled he wasn't had no possession
or field position. Kyle needed to inject himself a little bit more. I know it wasn't a game where
they were up in good ball, but he just didn't give him enough at the end. He didn't create
an opportunity for him. He didn't run the ball as much as what he wanted.
Acton's on his club debut and we know he's not played a lot of football, had a lot of minutes
in the last two years. So I think it's a big tick when it comes to him. Massive tick.
Even though they didn't look like a seven. Yeah, even though they didn't get the
the job done in terms of icing that that moe or those couple of moments, I think
they'll be very happy with his contribution and you've got to assume it's going to get
better from here on him. You think so, yeah. It was hard for him because he was just coming out
of yardies the whole night, but you could seem directing him around. He kicked extremely well,
like he was up against Bert and their field position wasn't as good. He kicked extremely well.
They combined for that try and the set to two try, which was good. They only had four or five
tackles in the Bulldogs 20 medal line, but yeah, you need like Kyle needed needs to inject himself
just a little bit more. If he's in a play six, he needs to help out, concern with the attack.
And one thing that was spoken about in the post game press conference was the
having another captain's challenge for Golden Point. I don't know. See, I already think
there's enough going on there in Golden Point in terms of reviewing plays like
every all those field goals, the setup you can see players trying to get out of the way now,
but there's definitely some potential blockers there. There was one, sorry, at least two
were thought if, like last year, if the plays just run into one of those blockers, they all get
reviewed too. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know about this. You don't want to see, because you just
challenge everything. Yeah, of course. Yeah, it should be a challenge. Yeah. I think any decision
that's where the refs have to have that feel of like where are we at in the game? Yeah. Yeah,
I don't, I don't, I don't love giving them another challenge. It just, and fatigue is a massive
part of it. So a challenge just slows it down. Well, there was, like the dogs used that challenge in
the 80th minute. I thought someone was tackled without the ball, but imagine if that was the other,
you know, the shoes on the other foot with that rake. Yeah. Like should they have used that?
They would have been kicking himself if they used that. Then didn't use one in Golden Point.
The range of deals from our proud partner Hyundai is difficult to believe, Charlie, across a range
of new and demonstrator models that deals are flying. They certainly are Jimmy much like the Penroth
Panthers this year. They're going to excel in the NRL where Hyundai is excelling in their deals,
like the Tucson hybrid from just 44 990 drive away. You drive this car. It's in the car park here.
It is sexy. When I saw that car, I assumed $100,000 car. The fact you can get it for 44 990 is
incredible. Well, you know, I couldn't afford that. So you can see right, I got the deal with the
Tucson. What about this? You can hop in the award-winning electric insta from 35 990 drive away.
An electric car means no petrol stops. So stock up on your Coke Zero's or your Pepsi Max's whatever
it may be, stash them in the glove compartment because there's no stopping in electric vehicles.
And Jimmy, they're all eligible for up to seven years warranty when you service with Hyundai.
They look after you that piece of mind that you can go, hey, I know this car's looked after.
Absolutely, Charlie. So visit your participating Hyundai dealer today.
Season C's apply. Welcome, congratulations to the dogs. The noise dial down,
lucky galvan, what a what a game. What a start to 2026 from him. The first game, the cowboys come
up against the nights. Poor Fletcher show up with that injury. He was looking full of beans and
looking very good. But the cowboys at round one, the noise dials up. As sad as that is, we're not
going to play, you know, what you've got two ways of looking at it. Congrats to Holbrook on the
nights. Last year's wooden spoon was off to a winning start. But the cowboys, I thought they showed
improvement in their defensive enthusiasm and energy. I thought there was a bit of chase back
happening there. I think they can see the three tries from kicks, from memory. There was the
the sharp one where he's gone up, he just got out competed. But
28 points in real one. In Las Vegas. Yeah. On us, what we've seen in the dogs,
how hard it was to score. Yeah, let's start with Newcastle. Yeah, I got to what I was down on
the sideline. They looked like Fletcher sharp and Pong Alex, but they looked unbelievable at the
start. The park, everyone's been speaking about the park and they stood up. You could feel that,
you know, Holbrook probably went in that same angle as Flano. Yeah. Let's ambush him.
We ran into a few cowboys morning of, and their game plan was we're going straight through
the middle of this team. It didn't happen. It was 12 minutes to start. I reckon they were sitting
there going, this is not how, this is not how this was meant to go. Yeah, I'm so gutted for Fletcher.
He looked up. Yeah. He looked at Pong. I think you mentioned it pre-game.
The triple M said Pong might take over a bit of the seven stuff. He was doing all that he did
the first three or four kicks. He used everything. He had a great game. I know a lot of the
talk and the pressure is on new marquee man, but their old marquee man was on everything,
absolutely everything. And I think for the nights to kick on, Ponger probably needs to become
the best fall back in the game. And he's done it before. But if they're going to really kick,
like he has to be better than Rolls, better than Teddy, better than the Hammer.
He's got it in him. He was obviously saying he's got an enemy. He plays tough.
Wade Graham was sitting there saying, can he do this for 27 weeks? Plus he probably plays
Origin. He plays tough. He doesn't shirk anything like he's in there. He mixes it in with him.
They come after him. They pop that shot out the back. He gets up ginger every now and
then. He just plays tough. No, he gets up ginger every time.
Millie Elliott said this. In the calls, I'm sorry, Millie.
Kevin Pong is not getting up gingerly. There's nothing different there. You're not telling
are already in terms of them. They don't already know.
But yeah, great win for the lights and a huge confidence booster.
New coach comes in. Freshens up some ideas. Ponger fantastic. I thought Trey Mooney had a good
game as well in the middle and on debut and got a nice little try to finish things off there as well.
But the Cowboys, I mean, you mentioned the 28 points. I just thought they missed a few moments
there. Like the flutcher sharp try. He just wanted it more. Greg Marjou. As strong as he is,
he had no right to score that try. Like he shouldn't be like there was four players around him.
You've got to just, you've got to outwill him. You should be able to outwill him in a situation.
Yeah, that'd be disappointed. Like the chat, I think they finished 16th.
Worst defensive team. Yeah. Last season. Even in that their chat during the trials was all about
controlling games and defense and how much they've worked on it. Paul Wellens has come over.
Who's a great defensive coach, by the way, did great with San Helens, but they'll be disavointed.
Like very, very disappointed. Newcastle. They attacked last year. Worst in the competition.
scored zero points in the trial. They didn't just, they didn't walk through them, but that second
half, those two tries back on. Sand and back on the inside. Yeah. That was, that can't happen
round one. Yeah, they, they were just beaten to the punch on a couple of occasions, weren't they,
and look, it's a long trip home for us to have the hunger over. And it's been a big, big week of
battling through and pushing through the pain. I mean, you mentioned about the dragons going home
and look, they'll be proud of their efforts and they were in the contest when nobody
give them a chance. Obviously, dogs will be happy. Night will be over the moon, but it's a long,
long way back to Townsville when you lose against last year's wooden spoons like that.
Well, the heat, the heat is just dialed up about three notches on him before they've even
played a game in Australia. They don't, there's not much change that can happen there.
It's just personal and we've gone through that. They've got five or six state of origin players,
boys on the cusp there. There's no way they should have been beaten through the middle.
There is no, that pack is, they should never have been beaten through them and they got beaten
through the middle of the field. Obviously, the, the, the talk of, um,
Clifford in the hearth. I'd probably wouldn't, it, it, it, it, it, it, changing now up, stuck on a,
make a world of difference, but I thought when, uh, Pidgey went to fall back when Drinkwater went off,
look good. I thought they, they, they looked a much quicker side, like the speed that he plays with.
And I know, obviously, Drinkwater, very classy at the back, but there was something about when
Pidgey had the ball in his hands, those kick returns. It was, it was a point of different slot.
It's, it's his same story as Fletcher Sharp. So they probably know they need him to get the ball.
Probably for the balance of the team Clifford makes, makes the most sense, but just every time he gets
the boy looks better than everyone else on the field. And he might, he might have to make that,
it's crazy that we're talking about. Yeah. Straight away. Um, but he might have to pull up,
might have to, yeah. Um, they have the week off. Obviously, round one finishes up next,
or this weekend. Uh, it's the Tigers next. Like, is that?
It's, it's, it's, it's, it's called it. It's almost must win.
It's almost a must-win game. It, it, it, it, yeah, it, it's tough. It will be tough to go
into, yeah, into Newcastle in the, into the Tigers. Yeah. Two teams at home.
Uh, it's in Sydney. Not sure where, but I know it's in Sydney. It's like, uh, it's like, uh,
so that'll be raw. Tigers have been watching two weekends of football. That'll be full. Yeah.
They've got to come back from, but in it is that first game back from Vegas is hard. They'll fly
back tonight. They get back Tuesday. They have to have a few days off, get through the weekend.
Like, it's, it's not easy. Then they got, they're going to have to fly back to Sydney.
That's a difficult, this is the difficult stuff. Had a fit. And then the Titan, Titans
a week after there's two huge games there, huge games for the, for the car boys. Like,
absolutely. Can you go that in? What's the, can you get? Could you be in trouble?
After three games? But the talk out of the car boys is the review,
they gave him 10 games and they're going to make a judgment call then.
You know, that spoke with Ben Dobin. He's like, now the car boys, they, they're very loyal. They'll
have, have it see out, but, you know, that the knives will be sharpening. And the fact that it's
such a high-quality roster, you know, coaches will be angling to take that job. That's a
a really unfortunate part of the game is there'll be people that want to be NRL head coaches
and have aspirations or maybe they have and they're not at this current time. But they'll be,
they'll be asking their managers or anyone they know in the media to just start to,
he starts to put the feelers out. He's one for you. If you're coaching and cows come up
Perth or PNG. Where are you going?
Carves, yeah. And there's, there's obviously a few, you know, Brad Arthur,
Willie Peters, who's there last night. There's a few of these guys names getting tossed around.
It'll be interesting. And the cows, cowboys will know that. Like, even though, like Josh
Hane last year, right? Yeah. At some point, the board and those directors are going to sit there and
go, like, when do we pull the trigger? Are we going to miss our man? If they've got someone that,
you know, they think they think might be the successor and then how early do you do? It's horrible.
It's horrible. It's horrible. It's horrible. It's the one thing I hate as a player.
People talking about your job and the thing is though, it's not personal. No, like part of our game.
And it's what it's what brings it to hype and everything around the game. And people's jobs
are on the line every week. Yeah. Of course. And it's the, the dark, or sorry, the one of the
tougher sides of coaching is you're going to have people talking about your job and people that
know people that want to push certain agendas or push certain ideas. Like, you've just got to
block out the noise. Like, it's not who cares what we say on a podcast or a TV show. It's like, well,
this is my job. It's, it's on me. I'm in control. And the only way to, you know, let's shut
these people off. It's got to come from the players. If you need that motivate to shut people
up should not be your motivate, motivate it to get the two points. Yeah. It's a multitude of
reasons, but one of them is it shouldn't be to shut people off. By our fans, we are launching our
very own studio just for you. So if you've been toying around with the idea of launching your
own podcast, hosting your own podcast, having a bit of a chat with a friend or a couple of others,
let us know what we can do for you because we now have a studio that is ready for you to hire.
We can help with all the social clips or the editing. You don't need to look after that. We will

being the star. That is you. We have a high end studio and the team could obviously help with all
that production. So you just focus on looking good. We will take care of the rest. So if you're ready
to launch or if you do already have a podcast, but you want us to take care of all those little
things, hit us up at the ByRound at gmail.com to find out more. The ByRound studio is open and ready
for you. Kaz, we spoke about one trip home, year one of Vegas. It was quite the trip home for
roosters and broncos who were sharing the floor. We stayed on the same floor. So I was in the
lift with like a pain ass and out of my nose and everything. No one's talking.
And then obviously what happened during the game, we were in the lift on the way back up and
rooms close to each other. Our team room was next to each other. There was a little set too
downstairs on that night and then rock up to the airport. Everyone was in a decent state
about you know late afternoon and we're checking in on the same desk.
And there's Willis and Payne. There's Spencer. It was honestly.
Was it brewing? I remember just looking like, even Robo's just like, what is going on here,
Kevin? I think Kevin and Robo had to like talk to each other and go like, man, we had to board
the plane. The broncos at the get on, they got the change to seats and the broncos at the get
on the plane first and sit up the back and then we had to come down the front and
of course roosters would be down. Sorry, sorry, sorry, we got on the plane up the back
and the broncos got it in the front. Honestly, it was. I'm a rooster. I said life.
Like it was a horrible situation when it happened but it was unbelievable just how it all
played out. That would have been very edgy. Some scary man. I need to go the tour. The whole
flight didn't get up just in case. All right, well, good look to those sides returning.
It's been a great start to the season as ever. The Zach Lomak situation will be hopefully
resolved in this supreme court this week. But I've been having to think about it and we spoke
again. Valande's was, you know, he wants Zach back in the game. We want Zach back in the game.
He's one of the best players in the competition with his levels of performance over the past
24, 36 months. But I've been thinking about this and you know, if you start a company right and
that company gets bought out and taken over, the founder of the company can't just sit
usually in the terms of conditions where you can't start a rival company in the same industry.
It's normally like a time frame of like two years. And those are the terms of conditions. And
obviously, Zach did have his head turned. And you can maybe understand why as a player.
But those were the terms of conditions. I'm even trying to compare it to the Pap and
housing situation. But like if he was to come back, how would Melbourne feel? But they allowed him
to go with, he only had 12 months left on his deal. Anyway, so for them, it's like, well, yeah,
we don't need to do that. It's different circumstances where I think Para were right to do that.
They were right to have that in there. It's got to count for something. It has to count for
something. I can see why they're playing hardball as much as they can because they can see a
situation where they gain from this. Because at the moment, they don't read, well, they've gained
in terms of changing some of the plays in their roster, but they can win a bit more. So why wouldn't
you? It's gone far now. I reckon straight after round one, they get something done.
Not before they played. This is how they're probably petty, but I honestly think they don't want,
obviously don't want him there to play round one. Yeah. I reckon after straight after round one,
they'll come to a deal. Yeah. Yeah. It's gotten messy now because it's gone to the courts and
the subpoena to the NRL. You could even Peter said, yes, he said, I've sat in the middle of them and
tried to broker a deal and couldn't get it done. But I do agree with you, like Para, they're in
well within their right to just put a press on him and go and get the press.
Do you reckon part of this as well is paramata showing the well that they're not going to be
walked over? Like maybe they felt like a club that haven't had success for a long time and maybe
a bit not the laughing stock of the NRL, but the butt of some people's jokes and whatnot and they've
just gone, well, no, we're going to make a stance on this to show we're back and we're not going
to be walked over. I think it's a principle business decision where they've gone. You sign these
terms, they put the terms there specifically so he couldn't play against them. Yeah. And they've
just gone, well, we're not just going to turn around now and flip on what we said two months ago.
But I do think something gets done. I just think after I honestly think straight after
round one, there's something going to happen. All right. Well, we'll look forward to that. I look
forward to post round one because I'm hopefully going to feel a lot, lot better. Charlie's on his
75 hard. I'm thinking about joining him although, yes, skipped a couple of days here in Las Vegas,
naughty, naughty. But yeah, looking forward to returning to some level of, of
normality, normality, that's the way I'm looking. I just want to get out of my kids.
Oh, I just want to show you these flytags. Honestly, do you imagine?
No, don't put it out there, Kes. The flights we're going to get home. I'm going to get that
upgrade a bid for. Thanks, Quarters. Come on. Thanks for listening everyone. We'll see you next week.
This podcast is brought to you by our good friends at Lovebrook's Charlie. The Permanent Panthers
are off to Bathas to take on the Cranola Sharks. We'll get a true read on those Cranola Sharks
that were dominant in the opening round. No one does it better for country rugby league than the
Permanent Panthers. They take so many games there every year and this Bathas fixture is going to be
incredible. Two Premiership heavyweights, but the Panthers are huge favorites. Dollar 33. The Cranola
Sharks are $3.35. The line is eight and a half points. Have you got a same-game multi-James
Graham? Yeah, Charlie, I sure do. I do think there's a little bit of value there for the Sharks,
but look, Penrith, I think they're back to their absolute best. So I'm going to take them in a
same-game multi to cover the line of minus eight and a half points and then my favorite feature
on the Lovebrook's app, the duos. I've got Brian Totto and McLean to score two or more tries
between them, whether that's two for Totto, two for McLean or one each. Combine with that,
covering the line, $3.44. I love it, Jimmy. You're one of the best tips that's going around, mate.
And I'm with you. I think if you like the Sharks, $3.35 is very tempting.
Sure is, Charlie. Season C's apply and available on the website. Odds are subject to change.
