C&SI - Having a chat with Bishop Brendan Leahy - 7 April 2024 (S04E20)

On this weeks podcast, John and Shane are delighted to sit down for a chat with Bishop Brendan Leahy - our local bishop here in Limerick to have a chat about the dioceasn overview which he published in November 2023. We have a discussion about a few things including 

• the challenge of vocations to the priesthood, 
• parish structures and the need to maintain local identity, 
• the work needed for parish finances to improve transparency and accountability,
• some practical liturgical questions,
• the issue of the Marco Ruprick mosaics in the Irish college in Rome
• Implementing Laudatio Si in the diocese
• Health of Pope Francis,

We have our regular run  through the liturgical odds and ends in part one of the podcast including the fact that today is also Divine Mercy Sunday.

In part three we have our reflection on the weekly Sunday gospel which continues John's account of Easter Sunday and the appearance of Jesus to the disciples in the Upper Room and the declaration of faith by St Thomas - "My Lord and my God".
