Cade Klubnik Drafted by Jets, Bringing Clemson Legacy

On April 30, Clemson quarterback Cade Klobnik got picked by the New York Jets in the fourth

round, trading up 18 spots from 100, 28th to 1th overall.

That's the biggest jump the Jets have made in the same day draft trade in team history.

He wore number 2 at Clemson and number 6 in high school, but both are taken on the Jets

roster so they'll figure that out soon.

At Powerhouse West Lake High in Austin, Texas, Klubnik broke records set by Drew Brees and

Nick Foles, throwing over 7,400, passing yards and 86 touchdowns while winning back-to-back

state titles from 2019 to 2021.

In college, he kept that fire going with a killer touchdown to interception ratio of about

5.12 to 1 across 7 seasons, totaling 159 scores against just 31 picks.

Fans and scouts love his smarts too.

He earned 3 all ACC academic team nods and hit the ACC honor roll 3 times from 2022 to

On the field, he joins an elite Clemson club with 40 starts under his belt, tying him

with Pass Jets pick, Taj Boyd, now the Tigers' quarterbacks.

score against North Carolina State last year.

The longest by a Clemson QB since Trevor Lawrence.

His win record sits at 26 and 14, making him the six-tiger starter with 25 or more victories

since World War II.

All that adds up to over 11,000 total offense yards, fourth in Clemson history for a quarterback.
