The Calgary Flames are having a tough season, sitting near the bottom of the Pacific

Division with a 25 and 32 record.

Instead of chasing playoffs, they're looking ahead by signing promising young talent.

Their latest move is inking Tyson Gross, a 23-year-old center from right here in Calgary.

Gross stands 6p3 and weighs 195 pounds.

He captains St. C4, Cloudstay University, and ranked in the top 20 for college scoring

nationwide.

This year, he notched 18 goals and 41 points in just 36 games.

Fans are buzzing about this hometown hero who grew up playing minor hockey in Springbank

and hanging around the old Saddle Dome.

It's a dream chance for him to debut in the NHL before the season wraps, learning from
