Islanders with a 7-3 victory at Bell Center on Saturday.

Cole Caulfield delivered his third career hat trick, plus two assists for a personal best five

points, powering the offensive explosion. Jorosh Slavkovsky masked that output with two goals and two

assists in his first four-point game, while Nick Suzuki handed out four assists. The top line

racked up 13 points combined, overwhelming New York's defense.

Kiting goal chipped in a goal, and two assists as goalie Jacob Fowler stopped 19 shots.

The Canadian snapped a rough stretch where they dropped three of their last four games.

The Islanders briefly tied it three to three early in the third on Matthew Shafer's power play

tally, his 22nd goal of the season. But Montreal responded with four straight goals to seal it,

forcing Ilya Sarokin out after six goals on 32 shots. Young stars shown bright in this one,

from Caulfield's 43rd goal, most for a Canadian since 1989, to Shafer nearing a rookie.

Defencement record. Momentum is building for Montreal as the season winds down.
