Car Bursts into Flames in Edinburgh's City Center

Early Saturday morning, around 6 a.m., a car went up in flames right in the heart of Edinburgh City Center on Queen Street.

Dashcam footage captured the whole thing, showing intense orange fire shooting from under the vehicle and the front end, with thick smoke billowing.

Firefighters from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene near the corner with Hanover Street, after a passerby spotted the blaze, while Park nearby.

They sent just one appliance and the driver was already safely out, standing by the car.

Folks on the road were shook, with one driver calling it a scary sight at that early hour.

No one got hurt, but a block part of the busy street during rush toward morning traffic.

Turns out it was a private higher vehicle, maybe from West Lothian or Fife.

Officials confirmed the call came in at 6.09 a.m., and crews had it under control, wrapping up by 7.01 a.m.
