Car Plows into Pedestrians in Derby, 7 Injured

On March 30th, a Black Suzuki Swift plowed into pedestrians on a pavement in Derby City Center Saturday night,

seriously injuring seven people outside, a pub.

Shocking footage shows folks lying in the street and one-dazed man sitting up amid flashing blue lights

as emergency crews rushed in. Police arrested a 36-year-old man from India,

who's lived in the city for years, just seven minutes later about a mile away.

They've got extra time to question him on charges like attempted murder.

Dangerous driving causing serious injury and grievous bodily harm with.

I witnesses described pure chaos, hearing a loud bang, screams, and seeing blood as ambulance

has arrived. One shop worker nearby said the driver just sped up and mounted the curb,

mowing through a group smoking outside. Bar staff locked doors to keep everyone safe inside.

Two victims have already been discharged from the hospital, with hopes for the other soon.

Local leaders called it a horrific but isolated incident,

closing the street for the Easter Bank holiday to reassure folks they can still head out.
