It's September 7. You're listening to NFL News today, AI-powered football coverage. I'm Cory with the story. Alright, let's talk about the Arizona Cardinals. Their all-season grind is officially in the Rearview Mirror and its game week. They're heading into their first matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday and head coach Michael Flour has his roster locked in. The days have opened tryouts and position battles are done. Everyone knows their role now. In the offseason kicked off, there were a lot of question marks, especially at running back in wide receiver. For the final running back spot, BAM Knight secured it, stepping up as RB3 after James Connor landed on injured reserve. At wide receiver, it was a crowded field, but Jalen Brooks and Seamy Fahoko impressed enough to earn spots, pushing the team to keep 7 receivers. Over on the offensive line, Isaiah Adams looks set to start a ride guard. Our rookie Chase Bysan has showed promise, an injury in some legal issues for Adams cleared his path.

In the secondary, Isdenzo Burke holding down the second corner back spot with K-Trow Clark and Max Melton as backups. The linebacker situation is a bit more fluid. Jack Gibbons and Cody Simon will both see significant time, but they'll be used differently. Gibbons is expected to play nickel linebacker, while Simon is better suited for run-stopping situations. It's a shared role for now, with both guys getting a chance to prove themselves opposite Mack Wilson Senior. And a safety, a bit of a surprise. Andrew Wengard, a free agent signing, has claimed the starting job next to Buddha Baker, beating out Daddrian Taylor Demerson who was expected to step into that role. Wengard has been solid throughout camp and preseason, solidifying his position for week 1.
