Careless Burglar Caught on Camera

0:00On March 25th, a burglar made of messy break-in at a party shop in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, early Monday morning. Around 1.19 a.m., he smashed a glass door with a brick and widened the hole just enough to squeeze inside. Without a mask or gloves, he left fingerprints and blood behind, then grabbed the till and a printer before trying to escape the same way. Security cameras caught every awkward moment, including him struggling to wriggle back out with the loot. He knocked items off shells in his rush, but eventually pushed through the tight opening. Shop owner Tom Meredith called it shocking, yet almost funny, given how careless the thief was. He has run the Ambrose Street store since Christmas, 2022, and said nothing.
