CATCH A WAVE (New York Post)

Hurricane Marie stayed hundreds of miles offshore but still sent dangerous surf, rip currents and coastal flooding into Southern California over Labor Day weekend. Seal Beach closed beachfront parking lots after ocean water inundated the area, while waves reached roughly 6 to 10 feet at some south-facing beaches and lifeguards warned swimmers to stay cautious.

-----

FLY SPY (Reason)

Sonoma County used drones initially aimed at illegal cannabis grows to search private homes for ordinary code violations such as decks, trailers, fences and outbuildings. Records show 700 flights produced about 5,600 photos since 2019. A new settlement now generally requires warrants, resident notification and deletion of most footage after 30 days.

-----

PLAN A.I. (KTVU FOX 2)

Three novice hikers from Roseville used Google Gemini to help plan a Mount Shasta climb, including what route to take and what supplies to bring. They reached the summit around 7 p.m., well past the recommended noon turnaround, became lost descending in darkness and spent the night stranded after one injured his knee before rescuers brought them down safely.

Here's your host Bruce the weathered soul.

Alright, here we go on a Labor Day. Yes, the Labor Day Monday here on Road Rage 101. And man, we got a thin crew today. We got John in here and John's the only one in here. So it's going to be a good Labor Day today and I just wanted to thank you guys all for being here. And man, what weekend it was, John, Labor Day. Last weekend of like not the official last week in a summer, but it is the last weekend of the kind of everybody's summer. So I know that you were busy. I was busy. I went to the coast this weekend. What's going to happen to do, man? I heard you had a little incident. Yeah, I tried to stop. Well, first of all, I've never been called thin before. So I appreciate that. I cut my, as the olds do, I cut myself shaving and almost had to go to the emergency room because I could stop the bleeding. But besides that, it was pretty cool. Went to a birthday party for the family. It's always fun to go with the family. I have a grandson now who's 16 and he's in the weightlifting. And for somehow, they all

wanted to try him out on arm wrestling. And he beat most of them. He beat. There's only he couldn't beat his stepdad. But he beat like the boyfriends. And he was said to me, he says, you want arm wrestle? I said, I am old enough to know when I am not going to win. So I, you know what? You win, kid. Because I'm not. I still do, I still do that dumbass fit. Whenever I, whenever I'm there with my nephews, my nephews really, you know, three times my size. And, you know, three times less my age. And I'll still get in there. But, you know, with my shoulder being bad anymore, I don't know. I think the next time I do that, they probably pull my arm off. But, yeah. So cool, man. You had nice, had nice little birthday with your daughters. And I, I actually went out to the coast this weekend, out to the coast of California, Santa Cruz, which is Bob, both neck of the woods. I heard that boomer Bob was out there and he lived there for a while. But, yeah, it took me, you know,

my wife says, let's go to the coast. I'm going like, you realize this Labor Day, right? She goes like, oh, right. I'm like, yeah, well, we're going to go to the coast because I'm leaving next week. In fact, just to, just for our listeners, we're only having three shows this week. We're having Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and, and, or Thursday and Friday, I'm going to be gone. I'm going to be out of sight. I'm going to be out of range. So there's no way that I can get this show produced. Not the door. And, so we're not going to have one. But anyway, ended up being an hour and a half for a 25 minute drive usually on a regular weekend to get to Santa Cruz, California. But it was a nice, it was very nice. A lot of crowds, a lot of good scenery out there because of course, you're at the beach. And this is California and they grow blond six foot tall like they're coming out of style. But it was really cool. I had a good time. How can you look at six foot tall blondes with your wife in the car? Or how do you get away with that? Like I could never get away with that. You laughed at me. And she laughs at me. She says, what are you going to do if you catch one? That's true. I'm six. I'm 66, John. I'm 66. I'm old. I'm

grumpy. And I'm setting my ways. And she goes, yeah, she threw you back in the water at about five minutes. I'm like, five minutes is all taken. Five minutes. What am I going to do with the other extra two minutes? Yeah, exactly. Well, it's Labor Day, John. I mean, you know, there's a history on Labor Day. I just want to get it out there because it is Labor Day. And most of the people aren't here live. So I mean, you know, we're going to talk about this and they're going to get this during the during the, what do they call that? The distribution. That's what we're going to call it. But the origins come out in the 19th century were harsh conditions, including the industrial revolution, which I call them, what did I call it the mechanical revolution? I think that's what I did. And in the late 1800s, where typical laborers work 12 hour days and seven days a week in unsafe factories, mills and mines. Can you imagine, John? Now, when you were when you were in the elevator business to work seven days a week, 12 hours a day, did you ever do that? Well, I did it when I was younger, but not in the elevator business. But I remember talking to an old timer and he was in the elevator business like into 60s.

And he said, I remember when we used to work like 10 hour days and we were making, we weren't even making five hours an hour. And I remember saying, when I make five hours an hour, that's when this job will be, you know, that's when I know I've made it. And I don't remember when the elevator wages went to five hours an hour, but I just looked the other day and they're like 86 hours an hour. Oh, he's moaned. And with the benefit package, it's 135 hours an hour. He grows over and he's way. Yeah, he'd be rolling over in his grave right now. But see back then, it was like kids would go to work. They would work at 12 years old. They'd be down in the mines, smoke and cigarettes and digging coal. Yeah. You know, that's why everybody only lived until like they were 40. And yeah, well, maybe we need to go back to that, you know, depending on what house most security is, you know, hey, listen, I'm telling you right now, the way that Elon Musk is talking in like 10 years, we're going to have a billion robots doing

all these jobs. We don't even have to work. That's when communism will work because that we'll get what's that called unified basic income or universal basic income. He wants to make it the universal high income or whatever it calls it like that. Yeah. So then we can do our thing. Like we can all be artists and we can all find the thing. Do what thing? Well, you see, here's that one. Do do whatever you want. Whatever your thing is. What do you want to do? Okay, I'll ask you a question. If money was no object, if you didn't have to worry about money at all, let's say you hit the lottery tomorrow, you have to worry about money at all. What would you do? Fuck, I don't know. No, you don't. I mean, I love, I love the golf. I'm not going to golf every fucking day. I love the fish, but I'm not going to fish every day. I guess garden, but if I don't have to garden because I don't need food, I mean, I don't know. I'm seriously. So from someone that's retired, one thing you have to do is you have to have a purpose because if you don't have a purpose,

that's when you start to die. I believe so if you and I know with me that I have to have something to do or I don't do anything. I sit around like doom scroll. You know, I don't so one of the reasons why I took this position was certainly wasn't for the money, but what it was for was that I could get up every day and do some producing and get my feet on the floor at a certain time every day. So my date didn't start at 11 o'clock or 11.30 whatever they decided to roll out a bed. So you need a purpose. So you're going to you're old now. You're older than me. You're going to be retiring soon. You better figure out what you're going to do because I understand that, but I don't think I'm ever going to stop working. I mean, even if I retire from my engineering job, what would I have? You know, I'll go get a position at home. People are low or something. I just I just feel like I have to work. That's my purpose is to work. I get that. But work, but you know, this is where

you can work and do something that you really want to do. So for me, podcasting is my passion. So I love that. So I get up and then I found out that AI is also now a passion of mine because I love having right now I'm the master of my bots. So I am the manager. I'm the general manager. I'm the bot master. And so I get up and I try to make these things work the way I want to. Now listen, I realized it when I first started that I'm a horrible bot master. But I learned and I, you know, and if you if you're not learning and you're not doing new things, so you have to figure out what it is. So we're going to do walk people around so that where are the wing nuts? Oh, follow me. I'll take you to them. That's what you want to be perfectly honest, but it to be perfectly honest, but I'll probably immerse myself in my gardening, get my masters to get my master

gardening thing and go that way because I really like it. I could spend I could spend my life in my retirement years in my guard. No problem. That's the sheer Hispanic roots. Yes, my Hispanic roots exactly. I'll get out there with my white with my white long sleeve shirt and and pick let us all day. I mean, that's probably what I'm going to do. I have a PhD in dirt. The first celebration of the Insta Department of the Labor notes that the first unofficial Labor Day took place on September 5th, 1882 in New York City. The first parade organized by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor about 10,000 workers. March student Manhattan, must do Manhattan to showcase their solidarity. This first day to adopt Labor Day was Oregon, of course, to come recognize the holiday in 1887 and roughly 30 states observed it by 1894.

The Federal holiday didn't come into existence until Grover Cleveland signed the legislation making Labor Day a national holiday on June on June 28th at 1894. Then the political context, the Federal action came after the violent Pullman strike in Chicago were federal troops for dispatch to break up a railway boycott railway. That was so intense. The worker death and establishing the holiday observed as the concilatory gesture to the American Labor movement. So that's the that's your thing about Labor Day. There you go. All right. I yeah, yeah. It would be fun to figure out half of that. All right. Now I will go to camera. Probably more than you wanted to know about Labor Day. Could have dealt with out the rape part. I got to be honest with you. I want to have a barbecue now. I had no idea about the rail rape now. It really brings us in the perspective.

Here comes Dutchman. We want to say good morning to Dutchman. How you doing? Dutchman is just just just three this morning in here in the in the road rage 101. I'm better today. I had a rough day yesterday. I was I ended up I'm telling this on the bunker tonight as well, but I discovered a yellow jacket's nest the hard way. So yeah, I'm sor shit. So I'll check out. I'll show you now. So let me get my gardening sucks. Let me give you the official Dutchers post for this weekend. Hey, so before you got here, the doctor dirt was telling me that when he retires, that's all he wants to do is garden. And he was go back to school to get his gardening degree. Pitch Dean. Yes. Yes. Yes. Oh, I must a gardener. I'm not the gardener. Right. Let's let's clear. Let's say that clearly. We're his gardener master. Master gardener. Master gardener. Could you know, Cody? Anything else? Yeah, no, Cody and Bob would be in here.

Freaking lambasting that freaking little sound bite that we would have here. For sure. September 17, 2026. It's Labor Day today. Federal holiday honoring workers. Birthdays include. Chrissy. The front woman of the pretenders, man. I love to. You like Chrissy. I don't like the pretenders. I don't like her. It's not never been a thing for me. Don't how about you, a pretenders. I got to be honest with you. I just didn't see it. It's like I got brass in my pocket. I'm like, does your pants fall down? It's kind of heavy. I don't understand. Well, she was. Yeah. I also didn't find her that. Doctor. I didn't see she's kind of. I don't know if I could say she's like. Yeah, she's like a New Jersey five in a Las Vegas. Three. I don't know. Zero Vegas three. She's like a one. Like, there's a pulse. I mean, I don't get that's not her. Her thing is she's

I don't know. Like to me, she was like pregrunge before a brunch was a thing. Maybe. She looked like she's like. She looked like she's like. She looks like smelly and sticky. Yeah. She reminds of a girl that would have a electrical tape on her nipple. I mean, that's kind of really. Yeah. I don't know what electrical tape on her nipples. Electrical tape on her nipples. She have to tape them down because they were she looked like she hadn't. I guess the wife just walked in. Whatever. She just moved to the left. She's like, what was that? On a trouble. Who's there? Who's there? Who's the feed goes black? Not on heavy again. She's in no way up at this point. The time in the morning. She gets up in the morning to see me off to work and then off I go. And then she's back to bed. Back in her little. Back in her little. Downstairs. At least downstairs with his little friends. I don't need to get up. Yeah. This day in history, 1979, ESPN made his first cable debut. So I remember when ESPN came on the scene, but I don't remember a lot of the shows back then.

They were just crap. I think it was like a lot of like when CN like when cable news network started to do 24 hours, it was just anything. Yeah. Because CNN used to broadcast like, oh, here's a field of oats. You know, like there was nothing. Look at them grow. It's nothing. There's nothing now. It's like you can't get away from it. But well, we still will now you have you have ESPN's this big conglomerate of different stations all to the ESPN plus ESPN college ESPN news. ESPN is being there. It's all about money with them. And plus they got bought out by Disney, which is probably a boon for them because they were fledgling for a long time. You know, they were getting ready to go under. They were freaking, you know, they were firing all their their personalities and stuff like that. And now they're doing what is it? Major League. What's that what's that tossing game that they have the cornhole? The cornhole. Stop. Jesus Christ did. I gotta be honest, I really I love that when they put on like the world series of poker, I guess that's the same thing as cornhole for people.

It's like, who wants to watch poker? I do. Kind of. Yeah. This is like I guess ESPN is going to end up going because it costs money to, you know, get these other leagues to you have to pay them. I think it would be a perfect spot to put on W NBA games right now because the W NBA is, it looks like it's going to be a thing right now. I don't know if you know this, but there's a world W NBA games going on somewhere. And Caitlin Clarks over there doing it now. And they just had a big game against Italy, which they hung on to win by three points. So. Italy. Italy. I'm sorry. I'm just your Italy. Now it's funny. It looks like the far right alternative Germany party prefers to resound the victory in the regional elections on Sunday, but fell a little short of winning a majority in its quest to form the country's

first part right state government since World War II. And they are running on the fact that they want to do these what do they call that re re migration or stuff like that with all the immigrants that are coming in. And yeah, I think the US needs to do that because it looks like a whole bunch of people are behind them. They got 44% of the of the of their whatever city and house, whatever they call that parliament, whatever they whatever kind of government they have. But yeah, it's started to grow over there. So we'll see how far that goes. Well, Paul won't let any in. And every other country that let them in is having a hell of a time now. Now we did the same team here in the United States. We have a ton of people that are here, whether they're legally here or illegally here. And the again, where that's going to be our next civil war because they're going to come and try to get numbers. And they're going to try to take over this country. And then the rest of the Americans are going to fight them. And we're going to see who wins.

Here's the thing that I found interesting is that Germany claims that they need the United States and they need Russia. So they're in different, you know, different stages of needing people on both sides of the aisle to come in and make their country work, which I thought is really odd. I mean, either you need US air, you need the Russia or you know, some kind of communist nation. I don't quite understand that. But apparently the right side of the aisle seems to think that they want to have corporations with both countries. Well, it would make sense. I got to be honest with you. All this arguing over stupid shit. I mean, here Russia has a lot of oil and Germany doesn't have any, doesn't really produce any. So they need it. It's closer than the United States or anywhere else that they could get it. So they were getting a lot of their energy from Russia. So I can understand now. I don't understand why we like, I go back to AI when they try to make two AI's fight each other. They get together. And the first thing they do is they, they get

cooperate and they go, Hey, listen, they want us to hurt each other. But why would we do that? That's what makes no sense. Why don't we just pretend like we're doing it. And they'll be happy and we still get to survive. So yeah. And the same thing, we're all human. So why won't the human race stop fighting with each other? I don't get it. I don't know. But anyway, we could learn something from AI. Yeah. Well, we'll see what happens with the party out there. It doesn't seem like they have a majority of their, of their parliament or whatever. So they're not going to be able to do too much. I believe that, you know, there's still the left is going to be in control there. You got Angela Merkel, who is our chancellor and whatever. I doubt that she's going to close the borders at any time sooner or start kicking everybody up. But we'll see what goes on. And it'll be a good barometer to what might go on in the US. Maybe if we get some balls and freaking start to start keeping doing what we're doing every. I want, I want Trump now because it looks like he's going to be a lame duck president for the last two years. I want him right now

before the midterms because he's going to lose them anyhow. This is the only way I would see the Republicans winning. If he went into a state like New Jersey or California or any of these other sanctuary states, arrest the governor arrest the attorney general arrest them all for for not following federal law. So in other words, for aiding and abedding illegal aliens from all that. I want them arrested and removed and and prosecuted. What's that? Sedition. I think it's sedition. Yeah. I want them all arrested for sedition. What reason? Yeah. For treason. Yeah. I wonder the other. I think sedition would work. And all we have to do is get one state, get one state like that. And boy, I'll tell you what those other states as holes would pop your up. You wouldn't be able to pin a pound of pin up their ass with a 15 pound sledgehammer. And I think a lot of this stuff would stop. And then we could get some shit done. Exactly. Exactly. Put yeah. Like I said, it remains to be seen. We've got a couple of

months before the midterms. Kenny and I were talking about yesterday and we're just kind of going like, yeah, we need to start doing a couple of podcasts on Sunday night. Again, you know, talking to midterms and trying to get some people out there and change some minds. But I doubt it. I doubt that that we're ever going to be able to do that. This little small podcast in the corner of the podcast, you know, and wait a minute. Wait a minute. Yeah. When was the last time? When was the last time you put out an episode on Sunday night? Oh, it's been, it's been a while. It's been about a month and a half, but like that. It's been, it's been a while. Yeah, whenever we're going to get it back going, whenever you do something like this, you have to do a way in advance so you get your audience back. Most of your audience is unsubscribe because they keep looking at their podcast player. And it's like, hey, put out. I'm not on Spotify. Can't find. I'm not on Spotify. No, we're not. We're still on Spotify because apparently my request didn't go through and I haven't pulled it off from Spotify. So you can still get a song. Spotify. Oh, you can't get you can't get off the Spotify now. Listen, I'm telling you right now. I'm still on Spotify for some reason. I guess, I guess we didn't come off.

Whatever it doesn't matter. Hold on to touch. Just gave me the okay and wave their hand. What does that mean, please? So what? So what? What? I don't understand. So what we should so Spotify. So we should just sit there and let them bend us over and give us the high hard one in the back door and just take it. Sure. Why not? It's free. Look at that. That's part of their thing. If you don't like it, pull it. But I disagree with you pulling it. If we have a lot of people listening via Spotify, well, I don't know why you chase off those listeners. I'm not chasing on Tom. I'll go listen somewhere else. Yeah. Okay. That'll work. There we go. I'm sure that'll be successful. Coming in like a hurricane. Roll clip one there, John. Strong, surf and dangerous rip currents are creating problems up and down our coast this weekend. And seal beach flooding near the pier has left the parking lot closed and more than a dozen people trying to push that car out of the water. Our Tim Pulliam joins us live with the cleanup efforts and the impact on several beach communities tonight. Tim, oh yeah. Crews are cleaning up after

high surf came dangerously close to these beachfront properties. Our coastline is seeing the impacts of this storm. This is crazy. You know, like we I've lived here for 20 plus years and like usually we get like one or two feet away. But when we get the storm coming in here, it's like crazy. Like we're just not used to that, you know. It's extremely concerning. I mean, having children, you're always on high alert. It's been a busy day for LA County lifeguards along the coast. Crews anticipate more than a thousand water rescues this holiday weekend. On a normal day, they say that number would be up to 500. We're expecting to see these elevated wave heights in three to five foot range with sets up to six to eight feet at some of our standout beaches up in zoom of beach in Malibu. Can I ask a question? Here's my head. Here's my question. Why don't they just say don't go into water? You're morons. You know what? If you go out there, you're going to die. I'm not going to send lifeguards out there to get you like it in New Jersey when it gets that bed.

They close the beaches. You're not allowed in the water, right? Am I wrong in saying that? You're not wrong. You're not wrong. Believe me. Yeah. So why are people going? That'd be like swim at your own risks. I'm not sending people to save you. Fuck you. First of all, it's Labor Day. Second of all, and that was telling Tom. Of course, Joe, that I went out. We went down to a center cruise for Labor Day. Bob's, Bob's old, old, old, what do they call youth youth, youthful place that he used to live. Anyway, to make a long story short, no, California is not going to bust off into the ocean because of it very quick. No, it's going to get swallowed up by Hurricane. And I know that that Dutch is sitting there laughing going like, Hurricane, you guys have no idea Hurricane. You're fine. You're fine. No, well, here's the other thing. It's not even close to your like in other words, you haven't really feel all she's getting is the waves. All right, you're not even really feeling the impact of the hurricane. Like if a hurricane was there, you guys would, yeah, you guys would realize it. But I'm sorry, Kate, go ahead.

I said, you'd know it. You would definitely know what was going on. My issue is that they should keep them out of the water. And then you know, it's funny. It's like the guy says, or she's like, it's the children. I'm like, children, why are the children there? Why would you put the children on the beach? The children who brought them there. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, the children. The parents. So, so as I pulled into center cruise and we went and had our lunch and everything in center cruise, I was looking at the waves. I'm going like, yeah, these waves are pretty fucking big. I mean, they're talking three and four foot waves. I'm, no, they're a lot larger than that. And center cruise, California, if you've ever been to center cruise, California, the waves are probably about three, maybe five foot by at the moment. These were probably eight to 10 foot waves coming into, coming into center cruise, which is the substantial wave. And they were breaking where they usually break. So they weren't coming up the beach. They were right there where they usually are. So that's a pretty good, uh, undercurrent, what we just call, uh,

undertow or a river. Yeah, undertow. And so, and they're all out there. They're all out there being fucking dummies out there. I mean, I don't go into the ocean because number one, there's pre-stored creatures in the ocean and shit like that. So I don't go in there because I don't get eaten. I don't want to be part of their food chain. But, uh, me and my wife were watching all that stuff go on and it was pretty comical. But, uh, it was, it was crowded out there, man, they love it. But if anybody's worried about, you know, falling off the, uh, the edge of the earth because we're going to get into earthquakes, it's not going to happen. It's going to happen with the hurricane. In New Jersey, when a hurricane will go up the coast, but we won't get it. We'll have the same kind of rip currents and waves and all the surfers, they all go out there and there's no, they're like guards out there. They're just out there and they're wet suits and they're surfboards and they're out there having a blast. And we don't know. I like guard are the surfers. Yeah. They could be like three or four of them dead. We'll never know unless they've watched them while bloated. We wouldn't even know. Yeah. It would our people surfing that. So that, that's,

I mean, it's if you've been able to watch the surfers during a hurricane while it's not optimal to be down there, it is fascinating to watch them. Remember when Hurricane Gloria was going, we were sitting under the boardwalk watching the surfers because they were just having up an absolute blast. Yeah. It's as they do here too, as they do here, we had nothing but surfers, there's just all kinds of surfers all over and they were having a blast. Especially it's Center crews because like I said, Center crews is not known for their their surfers except if you go to this one place called Paradise Cove, which is off to the left side of Center crews, not where the waves are, but they had waves actually on the beach and the surfers just having a great time out at the beach. So that was actually over in the surf area. That's all rock. So he goes surfing into the rocks over there because we're not the we're not the, you know, smart over here. These people are fucking surfing. I just realized that when Bruce says there's off to the left itself and when we say it's off to the left, it's north because you guys drove it there. Right,

we're on the right coast. Not the left. Good. Properly. But I thought it was funny. The fact that we're talking about a hurricane off of the coast of California, which we have a lot of, but these for some reason, they're stacking up in the Pacific and everybody's freaking out, oh my god, climate change. It's the truth. But anyway, it makes me think of you guys all the time because you guys are the ones that get the hurricanes. When you get affected by a hurricane, you guys get it. Well, I say we're north of it. So by the time it gets up here, it kind of calms down. The thing is it's the El Nias. So the El Nias, that's where it are side of the hemisphere calms down. We don't have as many hurricanes where you get more. The thing that cracks me up is they're like, oh, it's climate change. It's not climate change. It's a volcanic activity underneath the water. The heat is coming from underneath. But these knitwoods,

they just need something to chime off about it. They don't give a shit if they're wrong. They just need a story. Exactly. Exactly. Go ahead and hit the two. We turn now to some drone drama in Sonoma County. A new lawsuit alleges that the county's drone surveillance system originally set up to catch illegal cannabis operations is now being used to spy on neighbors and cite them for minor code violation. The people who live along Sonoma County's rural roads value the peace and quiet. And they also value their privacy. But for some homeowners, that was all shattered when the county showed up with its eye in the sky. In 2019 Sonoma County authorized the purchase of a drone. It was intended to help identify illegal cannabis grows in remote areas. But since then, there's been a lot of mission creep, which in this case is just plain creepy. I noticed something flying around. It was pretty big. It was actually very big. And I thought, hey, what's up? It's the

property of the county's code enforcement division, which makes sure that people's property conforms to local ordinances and is properly permitted. So these are areas in their backyards, in their pools, in their hot tubs. And there is California law that makes this illegal. They have been using this drone program for this large category of code enforcement, not just cannabis grows, but what they, what they profess to be a whole swath of code regulations. But they haven't told people that this is what they're doing. John, Kate, I've got a question for you guys. I know, I know exactly what the answer to this question, but who runs California? Who is the majority party in California? To be honest, what this whole big line is, now essentially, Jesus Christ, I can't believe it. But you know, this is going to happen whenever a government gets a little bit of an inch in there and they take a little bit of an

inch, they take a mile. And that's what's happening here. I find the drones all the time whether whether they're a drone that's owned by the city. I don't know, but I do see them all the time and they're flying over our house with their beef for PG&E saying they quote, looking at trees and by the power lines. And you know, it's just weird, but this surveillance state like it keeps keeps growing, keeps growing. And here we are, a simple thing that says we're going to go look for illegal cannabis grows, turns into a code violation to find out whether or not you have too much water in your backyard. Convenient. Convenient. So did I miss something? Did they tell you what they're finding people for or what this is because they have the sprinklers on or what I mean, what they're finding? They're finding people with code violations, whether it be like, you know, illegal, it's illegal to actually alter into your backyard and form different types of, I mean, all kinds of different structures. You need to permit for anything that you do here. Oh, okay. So they put

a shed in. If you've got a car in next door to you and you're doing something, still make sure that you have a permit. Gotcha. I got to be honest with you. I don't know how you're going to stop this. I mean, we're getting more and more in the surveillance state right now. This thing about the flock cameras has been a real eye opener. And then here's the other thing. And again, I know I listen, I'm not for these flock cameras, but you are not when you're out in public, you are not permitted any kind of privacy when you're out in public. So how are you? You know, if you're out in public, yeah, you're not, you don't have any right to privacy when you're out in public. So why is it to take and do these? I don't think it's a, I don't like it. Trust me, I don't like it, especially when cops stalk their ex girlfriends on these things. I think that's wrong. And what they have to do with one of these cops is throw them jail for 20 years for this shit. And maybe some of

that'll stop. I doubt it. They still can't get female teachers to stop banging little, uh, male students, even as much as they throw them in jail and shit. They're still doing it, right? Aren't they still doing it? So we're in Santa Cruz yesterday, we're in Santa Cruz yesterday, we're taking like the back roads and stuff and we finally get into the city of Capitola. And the Capitola, they got flock cameras all over the place. So we're listening to, we're listening to, uh, uh, uh, radio, not radio, but music on my, on my phone, all of a sudden my phone cuts out at intersection. I pass the intersection. The music comes back on, get to the next intersection. It cuts out. I'm going like, is it? She goes, what's, she goes, what's that all about? I go, I got a story for you, baby. She goes like, that is the block camera Bluetooth or whatever trying to connect up to our camera and tracking our every move. She goes, well, I beat that. And I'm going to like, uh, welcome to the world. Yeah. There's a big story about that now because what's going on is they're, they are finding

not only your phone, but if you have hearing aids that are Bluetooth, anything, they can connect to it now. And that not only there, they can also use that to profile you. Like if you get out of your car and into, like, say you go to Walmart and you go buy one of them in Walmart and that thing locks on to you. You get out of your car and you go and get in an Uber, it starts following you on the Uber. So now this thing is following you all over the place. That's crazy. I know. It is so crazy. I don't know how you're going to stop it. I don't know how you're going to stop it. I really don't know. We're not. I don't stop it. Well, the only way is to start tearing them down. Turn off your technology. Yeah, you got to have your technology. You get some kind of cloaking device for your technology, but that's all that's something else. You know, if somebody going to come out with this new type of technology that we can cloak off and do all kinds of stuff like that. Even your car, your new cars have that Apple play car play thing and that'll connect to it.

So it doesn't matter whether you turn off your phone, how you can't you can turn your radio off, but I don't know if that would still turn that off. And besides that, a lot of these newer cars have GPS tracking on them. So that, you know, you're stuck with that too. I guess you got to be like you got to go out and get yourself a, you know, a 19 or nine old would be a cutless supreme drive that around and I'll link it unless you turn it off, unless you turn it off at Google for your Google map, it will track you every place you go because it'll send you a month of report. You can go on. You can see the map and you can see all the war green lines going over place at every place that you have been. Don't tell me what? No, she knows she watches it. How do you think it turned on? This is pretty hard on how to do that all sudden in the middle of the night. She's got your phone as she's turning it on. She's like Stephen Hawkins and I don't know anything about that.

I think about long directions. Let's play clip number three. Artificial intelligence sometimes makes mistakes and a group of amateur hikers learned a serious lesson about relying too much on AI. The trio had to be rescued Monday after getting stranded on California's Mount Chastos over the weekend. The men reached the summit at 7 pm Sunday, which was well beyond the recommended turnaround time and they got lost on the way down. It turns out the hikers used AI to plan their route and what to pack and in the end, they needed human intelligence to locate and rescue them. AI basically told these people that you don't need as much food as you might think you need to take. And so they ran out of food. AI can be a good tool, but it shouldn't be used as the expert. Go talk to actual people. The Siskiyu County Sheriff's Office urges hikers not to rely solely on smart devices for navigation and to call the local range station ahead of any trip to be outfitted with the most accurate information. I got a question. How do you run out of food on a one day trip?

Well, it's your snacks. It's the energy snacks that you need. Oh, you do need them. You bought a lot of energy. Waters. Well, I'll go. When the pioneers were out winning the West and going out there, did they have their energy snacks when they were they died. Dummies. Yeah, they did. They had like, you know, what are these? And all kinds of shit that you hunt or die. They didn't all. Yeah. Oh, they depend on the food. Well, they're not hunting while they're hiking, but it's that's very different. So talking about young people. So these people are Gen Z's right? Gen Z, right? Gen Z does not know how to hunt. Gen Z does not hunt. I'm sorry. If they had to use, if they had to use AI to go hike up Mount Fashita, which is a huge freaking freaking mountain. And no matter where you start, you know, you're up on that mountain all day. It takes a long time. You know, just just hiking takes a long time. Just, you know, we have a little 2000 foot hike that we do that takes us four hours to get up the mountain from the switchback and stuff like that. You just don't fucking do it.

And to rely on AI to get your path there and back and give you a timeline and stuff like that, that is ludicrous. These were total amateurs. And I left them up there. But anyway, that's just me. Well, sorry. I thought you some sorry. I was going to say having having hiked extreme, well, for me, very extreme places. It is better to have extra food. And it's not like you have to go with like a cooking kit, but like things that you need, you're going to burn, especially when you're doing something like, was it Mount Chasta? That is, that's in, it's very steep. And you do need to prepare for hikes like that. There's plenty of groups anywhere. Anyway, I'm sure you can find them on discord anywhere on the net. You should actually interact with a human being, being like, Hey, has anybody done this? What do you suggest? That's what I see all the time in who groups that I'm in, you know, and it's better to bring like that extra couple packs of like,

you know, beef jerky or dried fruit or whatever you need for the energy. Apparently someone also got hurt. So that's never good. But yeah, but the water is the worst part because you have to, you're not going to find water source. And if you're going to burn a lot of energy and and climb steep, I mean, water's heavy. It gets a lot. Sometimes I can do the hikes. Yeah, when I do my hikes, I carry two 32 ounces. And I carry one in my hand. And I have refill stations. So yeah, just think it's so sweet like these kids got up. You know, Friday morning man, they were partying and everything and go by the end of the night, they're going like, Hey, dude, let's do some of them funny. Let's go out and freaking climb on that. We're supposed to ask Claudia. Happened in Jersey too. We talked about that a couple weeks ago. Yeah, well, the three Jersey two dogs went up. They went to New Hampshire and they went up on a mountain and they got up there and they got lost. And listen, I've never been one of those guys that go out on a hike. The most time that I've ever done any kind of hiking is when we were hunting. And I had a gun with me. And,

you know, we also had a compass. Well, this was before phones. So we had compasses with us. And then we would carry a whistle. So if we got lost, we would use the whistle to blow the whistle. And then people would blow the whistle and you'd follow the sound. That's how you, that's how you what happened when you got lost. I mean, so what kids, they, they, the kids, they don't know how to do any of that crap. No, sat with the settlers carried whistles. They were lost when they got separated from their trail. I don't know. I wasn't there with the settlers. I know it's a used seemed with these young guys like, they don't have enough food. Yeah, I went out. Listen, I went out all day, hunting with dogs, chase dogs, shot, snowshoe hair, it didn't have a snack one. I don't know. I didn't know. I'm sure you were a lot of fun when you got back. Were you hungry? I don't think that I was hungry. But in other words, we didn't even, we ate lunch. We went up and down the mountains of Maine all day long chasing

dogs and shit that we had. I don't even know if we had water to be honest with you. And then we would come back. We had beer and a lot. I don't think we had any of that. And so we would come back and then we would at night, we would go get dinner and then we would go bed and wake up the next day and do the same thing. And we had to have, we had to have two sets of dogs because the dogs couldn't handle it. But we hunted all day. I told you at one time, I got separated from the guys. I used my compass to get out. And I wasn't really good with the compass, never used it before. And I was seven miles away from the truck when I got out to the road. And the guy had a guy drove me back to where we were. I come out and I see a farmer who goes, where are you coming from? I said, well, my truck's here. He goes, oh, you got a long walk. That's about seven miles. I go, which way? He goes that way. I go, okay, I start walking. All of a sudden truck pulls up because of getting dollars. Drive me. Hey, guy pulls up. Says, get in. I'll take you. So they drive me back and all the guys are laughing at me. But I mean, I don't have to have anybody rescue me.

Dutch have you been lost before on a trail? Or have you ever gotten disconnected from your group? There's nothing when you're out there doing your thing? No, I rarely hike, I rarely hike alone. But my girlfriend, there's been times where we we download the maps. So we have them. But it's, it is helpful to have technology, but that we also do try to look at it and review it. But do I have it on paper? No. But you can't, how do you have a 15 mile hike on paper? You know, it's turn, go to this tree, turn left. We follow the trail markers. We follow the trail markers that on trails that we've done. And they're pretty good about being marked. But we also research the trails that we go on. I forgot the mentioned. So John Demas dogs, I can don't know trails. So they just go on into the woods. First time I went, these guys used to go there all the time. We used to snowshoe hair hunt. And they said, you got to come up. So we go up there. And the first time the dog got on a snowshoe hair hunt, they bark. So they're barking. And it sound like someone put them

in a pickup truck and drove them away. That's how fast they went out. I'm like, what happened to dogs? They're like, just sit down. You'll be fine. About 20 minutes later, you hear them here. They come. They're coming back and sure enough that that rabbits in front of them. And that's how it was the whole time. And then it took me a while to get used to it because devs dogs would run, they would run out of hearing range on the side of the mountain. And you're like, are they going to come back? Are they on a deer? Like, that's how they sound when they run deer in New Jersey. And they're like, no, no, they're on a hair. I'm like, no, he's silent. Uh oh, uh oh. I'm here one time. Let that be a lesson. Let that be a lesson. Go let EI freaking spot your every freaking move. I come down the mountain one time. And I'm running down the mountain because I hear the dogs and I come crashing down the mountain. I crash on the Wollogging Road. Had two guys who are sitting there and they're sitting there, you know, on the side, just leaning up against the tree. And I come down. I'm sweating and everything. And they're like, calm down. Sit down. Get over here and sit down. And he says, I'm like, I'm trying to get

to the dogs. He says, will you stop? They're going to come back. And I say, well, right. So he says, listen, if you have a heart attack here, we're not carrying your fat ass out. We're just going to bury you right here. Chuck comes through like a bear. I love it. All right. There's a mingo. I want to have a little fun this week. Okay. So I'm going to spring this on you too because you two are in here and Bob doesn't have his camera on. And he usually ducks out about this time because we're going to play again. I want it. Before we do that, because again, Bob's in here and he's being Bob. So another, he won't turn his camera on and he won't turn everything else. He ran away. Right. And then so he's letting everybody know that he's here. So this is the Bob thing that Bob does. He's playing sound effects, but he won't come on and say anything. And then he's going to complain later that no one would let him talk. But he never opened his fucking mic up. You such a fucking David. Did you hear the song he wrote the other day, the AI song that I'll never podcast again? What is stopping you for fucking podcasting? Nobody.

You have everything you need to podcast, which won't fucking podcast unless somebody holds your hand and does it for you. I want to hear your shit anymore. Get it here and be part of the podcast or shut the fuck up. One or the other. Let's play touches his favorite game show. That's right. One of the federal lines where we find out whether celebrities are wanted or dead or alive. We're going to be all on the sheet. We're going to do a contest today. We're going to pick touches over John today. We're going to have a contest and see which one has the most. So I have three movies. I have three TV shows. Okay. I don't care what you guys pick. Just guys you guys pick different ones and we'll go through them. See which one gets more points. What do you think about that? All right. That's fine. I'll take a TV show. What about your touches? You can take whatever you want. You want to move your TV show? I'll do a movie.

Okay. So movie A, B or C for touches. C. Okay. So here we go. I'll put on touches here. And John wants to a TV show A, B or C. I'm going to go A. Hey. Okay. There we go. So we're John. All right. So I'm going to let ladies first and we will go with touches and touches is going to do. Hang on the whole hold on a second. Hello. All right. The duchess since she's first, ladies first, she should have to be able to pick because I have an advantage of going less because I know how many I have to get. Would you like to go last or first touches? I don't care. I'll go first. Okay. There we go. There she goes. She goes. Okay. Okay. We'll make it easy. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. I'm sorry. Which one? Okay. Urban cowboy. There we go. Scott Glenn. You played. You played. Pink noise. Pink. Pink. Pink. Oh, God. I don't know about this guy. Um, dead.

Nope. He is in fact alive. Mickey Gilly who played himself. Dead. He is definitely dead. Yes. There you go. Barry Corbin who played Uncle Bob. Dead. Nope. He is alive. James Cameron who played Steve Strange. Dead. I'll be dead. Okay. He is definitely dead. He's definitely dead. Here we go. I'm too in George's thing. I'm just sticking with black. Madeline Smith Osborne. Who the fuck that is either? Um, she put a camp. She is definitely alive. So you have one in two. You got two in the in the in the round. Okay. So for a maximum of seven points, all you got to do at Dutchers is tell me how old is John Travolta?

74. Ah, he's 72. He's 72. And the reason I know that is it just came on. He was on the news yesterday. He's getting married again at 72. Ew. I would have known that one Bruce. Damn it. You had your choice. You could have picked the movie. Dutchers, you have five and we're going with John here. And John's category was a TV show or TV sitcom. We're going to see if everybody loves Raymond. Oh, Oh, beautiful. He'd be dead. He is dead. Doris Roberts. Dead. She'd be dead. Brad Garrett. He alive. He's alive. Monica Huron. Monica Huron. Who'd she play? Amy. Oh, she alive. She is definitely alive. There's four.

Catherine Helman. Catherine Helman. She played she played Raymond's the wife, mom. Raymond's wife's. Oh, I didn't see that episode. So I don't know who I'm going to say she did. He is definitely dead. You got five or five, John. You were tied with touches and you could win the whole, sitting in the caboodle, baby. If you could tell me how old is Ray Romano? Oh, my God. He's older than me. He's not older than John Trafalte. Is he? I got to say 70. He has 68. You got three points that gives you eight points time. You had one of the rounds today.

Congratulations. You beat me on a movie. I have no idea about it. Congratulations. Congratulations. You picked a movie. I'll never pick a movie. I'll never pick a movie. It doesn't matter. There's TV shows. You watch movies. I do. I don't watch stupid movies. John Trafalte movies. Please. Okay. He's got some of the best movies. John Travolte. Really? Yeah. Broken ad. I've never seen it. I've never seen it. I'll see. You got to start watching John Travolte movies. A several matter was a good one. If you're in the drama. The whole fiction. He was in pulp fiction. He wasn't starting. I guess he was okay. That was his comeback movie. All right. There was that one where he had the brain tumor and he got smart. Remember that one? The one where he had the brain tumor. Yeah. All of a sudden he thought he was

visited by an alien. He saw a flash and he got really smart. And they thought that aliens did something to him to make him excessively smart. They were studying him and here he had a brain tumor. And he died. Okay. It was a good movie. So I don't need to watch it. No. Bob, bro. That's the end of the movie. Let's move the show. So Bob don't talk at all. Bob gets TV show a. Go ahead, Bob. You're up. So any other Travolte movies that I have to see? You named it. You don't have to do it. Damn. See, this is how this is how she gets. No, suggested. Suggested. I just suggested. A bunch of the one movie that broke an arrow. He's in there with Christian Slater and Howie Long. And they have to go find a nuclear warhead. That was how he long. Howie long from football? Yeah. Yes. How do you want to really? It's a really, really good movie. It's the only reason I'd watch. How about Face Off? How about Face Off? Where he was with, uh,

what's his name? Nick, Nick, his gauge. Yeah. Another fabulous actor. Get on like, Nick, his gauge. He's got amazing movies. He's amazing. Do I think he's quality? No. No, I'm not. He's got hundreds of movies. What's the one where he was from? He's in it. I watch movies. He's in it. Oh, yeah. Well, National Treasure. That's fun. There you go. Both of the National Treasure. I didn't want to because of him. It was historic. It was fun. I enjoyed that because I'm like, Oh, bin there, bin there, bin there. Yeah. You know, there's also a movie he's in with, uh, T.A. T.I. The one that was married to, um, the sex act. I can't think of her name. She's a blonde T.O. Loney or something like that. You know who I'm talking about? Loney, Loney, Loney, Loney. She was in a movie with her where they were supposed to get married, but they went away and then he found out what it would be like when they were married. If they got married, it was a fantastic movie. Yeah. Never. I don't remember. Let me, let me see T.O. Lone.

And uh, Nick, Nick is. I'm like, five more days. She was also in the next. Loney and Nicholas Cage. Yeah. And Nicholas Cage. Sorry, guys. Better on the, uh, livestream. But, uh, the family man. The family man. What a great movie that was. Yeah. The only only it's a fantastic looking woman. I'm telling you what. Yeah, she got that. Oh, I thought we can say actress. Yeah, actress. I think she did very well in that movie. You know, you guys sit there. Tell me all the movies. I don't know what she's trying to lie. True lies. I don't know. She's trying to lie. Is that a TV show? With Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis. I don't remember her in that, but that might have been one of her early roles that I don't remember. Oh, it's Tia Carrera. Oh, yeah. It's different. Well, she is well. Yes, she did very well. Yes, she did. It's Tia Lioni. Yeah. Did she end up marrying the guy that she did this the TV show with, uh,

about when she was a secretary of state? Yeah, I'm not sure. I think she did marry him. She was married to a guy from, uh, ex files who was, uh, and daily. She made him daily. Prior relationship. He had with former director Neil Targino, junior. And then before that. And then, um, yeah. So that's all I know about her. Really? She, I thought she was married to that guy who was in ex files. Uh, David DeCovny is what you're thinking. Yes. Okay. Yeah, Neil, uh, Neil Joseph Tardio, uh, till 1995, was she got the divorce from him. David DeCovny, uh, until 2014, and she was married to Tim daily until 2025. She's not married to him anymore? Uh, apparently, I don't know. She's, oh, she's married. Yeah. 2025. She married Tim daily. That's what it is. Yeah. She's still married to him. But she's not on the market. So she certainly likes marriage. She's been through four. Uh, apparently she went through the, uh, she's like me.

She likes her three times. She's trying to charm my guests. But she's only, she's, she's only 60. So she is. Okay. Yeah. Anyhow, give us your last words today, Duchess. Maybe the mushroom one. Well, see now he won't play it because that's he will like, nope, not that one. I say he's going to play as live. All right, God. Bob, give us your last word of the day if you're there. I think he's blinking. What people? Yeah, I knew it. Thank you, Bob. Oh my God. Thank you, Bob. Now we know you're there, Bob. So I speak fluid content. Oh, he said he took a shower. So okay. Okay. Only three shows this week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. You guys have a great day and be good to yourself.

Say bye-bye, guys. Bye-bye. Bye. Well, there you have it. Another episode of Road Rage 101 is safely in the rearview mirror. Bruce and his lovable collection of misfits, malcontents, and questionable influences have somehow made it through another show. Broadcasting from the Danger Ranger Studio, because apparently, giving Bruce a microphone while he's out on the road seem like a perfectly reasonable idea. Road Rage 101 is a value for value podcast. If we made you laugh, made you think, or just made your commute a little less miserable, you can throw a little something in the gas tank at bimiacaffee.com slash WSMG. Or support the insanity at patreon.com slash WSMG. It keeps the Danger Ranger rolling, and Bruce supplied with enough coffee to remain a danger to polite society. So be sure to smash that like button, hit that share button, and ring that bell. And until next time, have a great day and be good to yourself.
