Seems pretty normal day in the church and in this church crisis.

2:31Let's start here with Dion Montania. And normally, the church, if a priest is accused of impurity, especially the most grotesque kind, I usually won't touch the story with a 10-foot pole. Because often times a priest cannot ever come back from these kind of things, even if they are proven to have not done what they're accused of. Even if it's a story where it's pretty sure that it's on its face false accusations, like I think is the case here. Because I've been burned before, frankly, you remember the case of Father Jackson, FSSP, correct? I didn't think he had done it. It seemed to on the nose, especially since by all reports, a man couldn't get on the internet without help. And yet he had mountains of the most evil, despicable, impure material on a computer, somehow for a man who makes the omniscient look like technological savants.

3:32But here we are. That's where we are because apparently he fessed up to doing it. That's why I usually don't touch these kinds of stories, but we'll see why here, Dion Montania apparently is raising red flags about this, which gets my attention. Headlined from Dion Montania's sub-stack, exclusive, something is rotten in the church in Sweden. Catholics in the diocese of Stockholm call for an apostolic visitation amid reports of corruption. Dion Montania is a pretty serious Catholic journalist. She's the one who was at these synodontes in the press conferences in the journalist press pool, asking the pointed question of Cardinal's gresh and holerick, the two men leading the synodontes in idality, that got them to say on camera, you know, the phrase, new synodal church, were they kind of admitted that they were finishing the job of making a new religion. So I take her very seriously. And so I would say some careful discernment here is for this story.

4:34And please pray that the truth emerge on this and that if this priest here is innocent, well, you'll see. This goes to this story. She just published this and it went viral this weekend. And I want you to hear this. In Hamlet, Shakespeare gave the line, something is rotten in the state of Denmark, not to hamlet the prince or to any man of power, but to Marcellus, an officer standing watch in the dark, perceiving a truth that those in authority could not or would not see. Today, across the water in Sweden, it is a lay faithful who are sounding the alarm, calling on Rome to investigate what they describe as corruption at the heart of the country's only Catholic diocese. The calls for an apostolic visitation to the diocese of Stockholm follow the publication of a two-part investigation by Swedish Catholics. This journalist has both studied the report and independently corroborated its overall account, speaking with sources within diocese not connected to the investigation. All confirm its portrayal the diocese as very accurate.

5:35The diocese calls it not serious. We are desperate here, said one priest describing a climate of fear that exists particularly among diocesan clergy. The investigation describes a power vacuum at the top of the diocesan administration that has enabled an axis of power within the chance rate. One that alleges has moved against those it perceives as disloyal or threatening. It is a dynamic Shakespeare understood well. When legitimate authority fails or is corrupted at the top, what rushes into fill the vacuum is not ordered, but it's opposite. This is a kind of a big deal, especially now because this cardinal is at the age of retirement and there are rumors that Leo is about to start appointing cardinals. This is to put it mildly a... This is to put mildly a specifically big time. And the reason we're going back to June is because we now have an update on the story. This is time on Tania. Again, following up from three months ago, three months ago, four months ago. That line, the rock goes deeper. Diocese of Stockholm withholds Vatican ruling that priest suspension was invalid. The diocese confirm privately that Rome ruled the suspension invalid, but observers believe it's an excuse for not informing clergy and faithful rings hollow. The priest you're about to hear about, as we go back to the original from June,

7:42is... was found his, he was suspended. And the Vatican said, no, you can't do that. You understand, when we're going after a traditional priest. And the Vatican says you went too far, you know you've got problems. Published in Swedish, this back in June, under the name Thomas Moore, and now available in English, the report was compiled over two years by a group of Catholics within the diocese of Stockholm, drawing exclusively on first-hand accounts, documentation and testimony from hundreds of people across the diocese. It's subject to the author's words as a pattern of corrupt governance, the highest levels of the Stockholm diocesan, chance-ery involving a cardinal of the church. Its authors say they raised their concerns with the diocese on countless occasions and through proper channels. They were not alone. Over the years, many others, clergy, parishioners and individuals from the diocese not connected to the report, brought their concerns directly to the diocese and to Cardinal Aboraleus himself, they went on addressed. 8:44who served as a parish priest at Christ the King Church in Gultenberg from 2007 to 2022. 15 years during which the parish flourished by every account, under his care, the congregation grew, vocations grew, conversions multiplied, and a vibrant youth culture took root to become known throughout the diocese. He celebrated the traditional Latin Mass, which drew young families and worshipers from across the region. At its height, the report says some 60% of those attending were children and young people. It was also a driving force behind a plan to establish an oratory in Gultenberg on the model of St. Philip Neri, a project endorsed in writing by the Cardinal and his vicar general on October 2020 and reaffirmed by the Cardinal on 9 January 2022, just eight days before father to a bias's dismissal. So something happened in between there. More than one priest who knew him had told the journalist that they had considered him a potential successor to Cardinal Oborielus. On 15 February, the very same day the father to a bias wrote to the

9:45vicar general, father Pascal René Lung, OP, seeking guides on how to proceed with the oratory, a complaint of emotional, psychological, and spiritual abuse was filed against him. So that day, February 15th, the priest wrote to the essentially the main lieutenant of the Cardinal asking for how to proceed with establishing a traditional oratory post, or this was this was five months before tradition as custodous. And that same day somebody filed a false claim against him by someone named Joseph Ritzk, then a seminarian and an hour priest on the diocese. Under the proceed under canon law, the complaint should have been communicated to father Tobias within two months of being filed, giving him a couple of weeks to appeal. It was not. When he was finally summoned to Stockholm for questioning on 22 April, already passed that deadline, he met along with father Pascal. The Cardinal was absent. Father Pascal read out the excerpts from the complaint, but father Tobias was never

10:46shown the document itself. And to this day the diocese is not provided it to him. In other words, he was accused by a priest of immoral conduct and some sort of impure misconduct. And he was never told what it was. He was never shown the complaint, just excerpts. And he was never allowed to face his accuser. And the Cardinal never confronted him himself, the Cardinal, the local archbishop. So let me now go back here to for an update on this story. The whole thing is staked high heaven. What happens when a ruling from Rome reaches a diocese in chanceary declaring that its suspension of a priest was invalid and chanceary officials choose not to tell its clergy in faithful what Rome had decided? Its Sweden's only Catholic diocese officials have acknowledged in writing that they do not intend to announce the Vatican's they cast your foreclergy found the 2024 suspension of father Tobias Unerstahl, a Gutenberg parish priest in valid. So this priest was publicly suspended and the vat and now the

11:46local bishop is not going to publicly clear his name. Until a further potentially lengthy canonical process has been resolved, nor does the diocese intend until then to inform its clergy in faithful that the priest according to the Vatican's decree may administer certain sacraments and publicly celebrate mass with the local ordinary Cardinal Anders Aborials. In other words, the priest is may his suspension may be invalid for all intents and purposes, he still suspended. Because they're not going to allow the public to know that the priest can hear it can offer mass, can baptize kids, he can baptize anybody, he can do anything except maybe hear confessions. But I suspect that's the one he can't do just because the nature of the accusation until the process is done, you know, you don't want to put people in private while the eggs are still up in the air. They destroyed this priest's name and the bishop has said he doesn't care that the Vatican said the suspension was invalid, that they're going to treat him like a pariah anyway.

12:48New evidence has emerged showing that to date the diocese is also failed to comply with the decree's requirement that it provide for the priest livelihood. So in other words, they haven't been allowed giving him anything to survive with. A June 2026 investigative report titled something is rotten in the church in Sweden first detailed his case. It was interrogated by the vicar general father Pascoe René Lung in April 2021 over single complaint non-sexual in nature. So this is not an impurity I misspoke. I got that wrong. So probably bullying or something like that filed by Joseph Ritzk then a seminarian who's now a priest of the diocese father Euner Stahl was never shown the complaint. A former parish assistant later wrote that she had spent years shaping Ritzk's view of the relationship that she also felt she had to stop a project father Euner Stahl was establishing. So as I remember reporting on this back in June this ape parish assistant

As she's manipulated the relationship and she felt she had to stop a project father Euner Stahl was establishing that was the that was the oratory a traditional oratory in the diocese. Do you see how much they hate the TLM? All the dioceses did not name father Euner Stahl and his November 11th suspension announcement issued by the vicar general or in subsequent postings. The announcement referred to an unnamed priest who had since 2022 been relieved of his ordinary pastoral duties. The same language the diocese had used in October 19th 2022 when it announced that father Tobias Ernestahl was relieved of his ordinary pastoral duties in the Catholic diocese of Stockholm on October 1st. In a decree dated May 5th the Vatican's Dicastry for clergy found the suspension procedurally defective and ruled it invalid. The decree nevertheless imposed restrictions on father Euner Stahl's ministry for three years

Remember even I thought that this was about impurity for a moment because of how they were talking about it. But it wasn't impure but it was that's how to do with his he was relieved because of his behavior with men. If it's not impurity it's not James Martin's stuff which is what they're heavily implying and it ain't McCarrick's stuff which is like James Martin's stuff on steroids. What is this? What are they saying? The decree specified however that he may publicly celebrate mass when concelebrating with the cardinal. The cardinal who filed complaints against him to the Dicastry. Administrator sacraments that do not require the faculties from the local ordinary including baptism, marriage, the anointing of the sick and order the DICs to provide financially for his

15:50livelihood. You know we form months after the ruling the DICs is communicated none of this to its clergy and faithful. Its website would lead them to the opposite conclusion. A written exchange of the DICs makes clear that this silence is not oversight it is deliberate. On Thursday, October 27th, the Iron Montanius and five written questions to Christina Heldner. Communications officer for the DICs is a stock home copying Launcini Jorge de Salas, a piscable vicar for juridical affairs and Father Loong, the vicar general. Both officials have played roles in the case. As reported in June, Father Loong has been a central figure from the outset. He interrogated Father Oonor's stall about the allegations in 2021 in the cardinal's absence without showing him the complaint, participated in key meetings with the cardinal concerning his status and issued the announcement of his suspension. The June reporting also established that one senior DICs Launc had already confirmed by phone the substance of the DICasteries ruling. Father Oonor's stall was quote not suspended strictly, months later to Salas said, but he's not in good standing. Given their roles in the case and the canonical issues involved, both officials would

We had excessive, you might some might say excessive or at least we'll say maybe a better word is fruitful. There were such fruitful vocations that all the tasks of a pair in a pair were done by priests and religious. There may be exceptions, but one of the fruits of Vatican II was parish councils and lay employees, all who need health care benefits and all the

18:02rest of it, although maybe not sweet and universal health care there, but they still needed benefits and other things to cost money. And there are a certain segment of people who are laypeople who are extremely hostile to the old religion and the old expression of it in its form of worship and the traditional mass. This priest had created a thriving parish community by offering the traditional mass there and teaching the traditional faith of the traditional sacraments. Any such cases, we've seen this play out over and over and over again to the point where some of us have said if you want to actually turn around the vocations crisis and the the sacramental crisis, the larger one which is fewer baptisms, both of babies and of adults than ever, and fewer Catholic marriages happening and on and on and on. If you want to turn all that around, you don't mandate, you don't have to mandate it. All you have to do is you know, don't mandate a return to the TLM, just mandate that the TLM be widely available, not just in a parish here or there, but many parishes in

19:07the diocese. The parishes that have them will turn around. Most of them will. We have the data. For whatever reason that was offensive to the layperson who worked with the priest, sounds like coached him to make the accusation. The response to this from laypeople, if you read for the read that article, is not now laypeople are asking Rome for an apostolic visitation of the diocese, because there's signs of corruption there. And we're not talking corruption like, you know, taking a little money out of the till or whatever, you know, scoop it, you know, taking a little of the tithing money and patting, you know, some layperson who works in the office's pockets and no, I'm not accusing the woman there of that. This kind of corruption that we're talking about has a pattern. I'm a ton of points out here. It was reported in June, Stockholm,

20:08Chancerees, handling the cases of these two priests as well as others has led Swedish Catholics to call on Rome to investigate what they describe as corruption at the heart of the diocese. They describe a power vacuum opened by a lack of leadership that has allowed an axis of power. By the way, in Europe, using that phrase is very loaded to emerge in the Chanceree. One, they all are at ledge that has moved against those who perceives this disloyal or threatening while protecting those whom it favors. Those calls come as Cardinal Anderson Borielis approaches retirement. He's 76, mandatory retirement for her bishop is 75. He could vote in the conclaves until he's 80. And that's why people are, are furious. And so you kind of, you could, so you can see this playing out in HR departments too, right? People using their power for corruptions. They're ideological lens, right? Whether it's just they hate, they don't like a certain class of human beings. And so they use their power that they have to exercise and exercise it over people they don't like. Or in the case of the story in Stockholm. You have this woman who is allegedly coaching a priest to just essentially make up accusations to get a priest canceled a priest who she said she needed to stop from some project of his. And what was his project? Establishing an oratory for traditional priests for the traditional sacraments would be offered at a level more available than in, and then at the time

24:16when he was trying to found it, meaning more priests who could offer the TLM, more who would get trained for it and can offer it in other places and dioceses. Especially relevant now that, uh, that Rome is not rescinding tradition on its custodous, but seems to be turning a blind eye to people pushing the boundaries of it a little. This happening in the aftermath of the SSPX considerations. We're having a racist hey, everything has to be democratized, right? Well that's a good segue actually. Democritization is the key word in the church in many places right now. There is a, there was an election in Germany that caught the world's attention. There was like a, the equivalent of a state election and a far right party. And I say it sarcastically because it's a, that party is headed by a woman who's into other ladies, if you catch my meaning, for no far right there. And their policy positions are by American standards,

25:20very, very milk toast, very moderate, but they have one position that is untenable for most of the church in Europe. And that is they want to close down their borders and expel all the people who shouldn't be there in the first place. And they won their elections, not by enough to take total control of the state apparatus of the harem to form a coalition. But the German bishops had been spending years campaigning against this party, the alternative for Germany, alternative for Deutschland, AFD. And they have been getting the praises sung of them by America Magazine telling the US bishops they need to follow suit with their politicization program. They need to be as political as the German bishops. Well the German bishops have gotten, have really gone off the deep end. There have been a series of articles that have come out, two of which were published on the German bishops news site. And one of which was published in

26:22Communio Magazine, which is like one of the original hard progressive modernist ultra modernist kind of theological papers, right? Communio. And this thing, this one goes back to Vatican too, right? That's how old this one is. They published this bizarre story here on their website. Headlined faith as the flywheel of democracy against the instrumentalization of faith or sponsored cardinal marks. Cardinal Reinhardt marks these, the Christian faith as the driving force of democracy. That's a powerful imaging. Yet the question arises whether it doesn't if you faith too much in terms of its social function. By Jan Heiner-Took, who I believe is a priest, I believe. Marks is a, Marks is positioned in this article is pretty straightforward. The church must support democracy. The Christian position is of democracy. True Christian civilization is a democracy. They be news to the doctors of the church. They be news to the

27:29popes going back before Vatican II. But it was ad Vatican II where the church explicitly stood up and said democracy is our position. Now, in the 1960s, one might argue that when the alternative was communism, democracy looks pretty good. By comparison. Now in 2026 though, we got to ask, what do you mean by democracy? Because there's another outfit in the room with all this, and that's a synodon synodality, which has been widely accused by people like myself and many others, that they're just trying to democratize the Catholic church. It's in their language and their document saying we must elevate the lay to have greater influence and have them choosing bishops and choosing priests and all the rest of it. Vatican documents are coming out now endorsing it. So what do they mean by democracy? What are the limits of it? This is their position. And of course, it's getting a little bit of push back here. I believe Father Tuk says certainly the Catholic church recognized religious freedom. The foundations,

28:29the modern liberal constitutional state of the Second Vatican Council, and rightly so. So the pushback he's getting is not coming from someone who disagrees fundamentally with him. This is all post-concilier in her fighting here. This undermines the notion of a Catholic state, which is resurfacing with a far right today. A Catholic confessional state was the norm in the church going until the post-concilier era when the Pope actively told Catholic confessional states to stop being confessionally Catholic, meaning that their official position was to be Catholic. The governments were. And what ended up happening when they did that? Chaos. Moral chaos. Social chaos. The gospel is not reducible to a political function, but there's very fact in of political consequences. Christian faith can defend human dignity when the power promotes democratic culture. Two or three is right. I don't know how you get the idea of democratic

29:30culture out of Christianity, but okay. I'm not saying it's incompatible, but I don't think it necessarily follows that you'll get a democracy. There have been plenty of authoritarian states that were Christian. We'll look at Spain until the 70s. However, it does not do so because democracy is its highest good. The standard of faith lies elsewhere with God who reveals himself in Jesus Christ. God is holy other. His otherness also means that he must not be instrumentalized for anything else. Not for conservative conceptions of order, not for progressive social models. Not even the stabilization of democracy, especially since the church, within its broad cultural spheres, must coexist with the different forms of government. Whoever makes God the guarantor of their own political project, even with the best intentions, controls him precisely by invoking him. He's not wrong there. And therein lies the actual dilemma because... Well, here's here are the German bishops endorsing Cardinal Marx's view. They're headlined. Remember, if they publish

30:33an article without a... Without a disclaimer, they're endorsing what's being said here. They're headlined. Cardinal Marx, religious fantasies of exclusion must not be tolerated. What were AFD campaigning on? Kicking out the interlobers, kicking out the criminal element who came from somewhere elsewhere, kicking all of them out. All of them. Europe is boiling over at this point. Tensions are high across the entire continent. And why? Because secular, godless atheistic types said, hey, check this out. Let's just bring in a new population. Doesn't matter what they believe, it'll be fine, I'm sure. And then it didn't turn out to be fine. They brought in cultural people, culturally incompatible with what was left of a Christian culture in Europe. It looks like it's waking up a slumbering population to realize that who are realizing there's an existential threat. And it's being done, directed by men like Cardinal Marx. That will remind you, Cardinal Marx, the only good thing he ever did,

31:37was he attempted to resign for his own role in hiding away McCarrick kinds of priests. And Pope Francis told him no. And so he became a good foot soldier for synodality, which he was already, but he redoubled his efforts. Churches and religious communities, Marx says, must do their homework to promote a democratic society. He stated that all religions harbor fantasies of exclusion and demarcation, which must not be tolerated under any circumstances. According to his press office, Marx did this on Tuesday evening in Munich. The Archbishop of Munich of freezing made the remark at an event with the various interior minister Yulkeem Hermann. The evening marked the start of a series of talks between the minister and representatives of faith communities on the significance of religion for democracy, integration, and social cohesion. You know, the sons of the false prophet have zero interest in integration or democracy. And their idea of social cohesion is to dominate and impose their view and their faith on everyone else. You'll get social cohesion. It'll be done at the end of a bayonet on a boot stamping on a

32:41human face forever to borrow a line from George Orwell. According to a statement, Cardinal Marx described the Christian faith as the flywheel for the development of a democratic society. I cannot imagine a church that does not bring its principle, such as charity, tolerance, and solidarity into society. Charity is political. Such Christian maxims are fundamental democracy. Without this foundation, we can bury democracy. The Cardinal continued stating that the Christian understanding of humanity implies that all individuals in our society of equal rights, openness and a willingness to engage in dialogue are essential for a free society. This is especially true in the matters of migration and integration, Marx added. The future of a society depends on seeing diversity as an enrichment, understanding migration, not as a threat, but as an opportunity, said the Archbishop. You remember when people talked about migration as an enrichment back in like 2015? He's still saying it. No one really believes him anymore, but he still does.

33:42People with a migration background support numerous sectors of society such as nursing care and public transportation. It is essential to engage in dialogue with these individuals to draw them out of their bubbles. According to Marx, the church makes a concrete contribution to this dialogue, for example, by providing a foundation for a welfare state based on solidarity through Catholic social teaching. In this context, the Archbishop warned against the disappearance of the church and faith from society. There are consequences when gaps emerge here. A society thrives on people choosing to do good. There he is instrumentalizing the faith. Utterly remarkable thing to believe in. But it goes further than that. You see, the German bishops hot on the heels of that published this staggering piece. Again, all in response to alternative for Deutschland. Edline, believing God is neither ethically or politically neutral. Again, this has some response to AFD. You have to support the ongoing progressive project

34:46to be a Christian. You don't have to believe me. I've been watching certain American allegedly Catholic progressive activists trying to get Catholics to return to the Democratic Party using the same language in America. It's like a memo went out that they're all coordinating at the same time because this is not about America and Trump and the rest. It's about the entire change in attitudes happening across the West right now. We look like we might actually be in one of those massive realignments, the fourth turning, some call it, where the entire social order pivots in a massive way. New attitudes happen in America.
