There are still major barriers and cultural problems blocking women moving into — and staying in — the construction industry and its associated trades.
Joanne Farrell has experienced this first-hand. She always knew she wanted to be a builder but she struggled to even get a foot in the door.
And once she did get in, she says she was excluded and bullied. Today, she's using her skills and experiences to help other women find employment and navigate their way through the industry.
