Cs: Právě když první sněhové vločky začaly padat na Prahu, školní skupina se vydala na exkurzi do Botanické zahrady.
En: Just as the first snowflakes began to fall on Praha, the school group set out on a field trip to the Botanical Garden.
Cs: Jakub a Natálie vystoupili z autobusu spolu s ostatními spolužáky.
En: Jakub and Natálie got off the bus along with their classmates.
Cs: Jakubovi zářily oči zvědavostí a těšil se na objevení vzácného rostliny, o které četl.
En: Jakub's eyes shone with curiosity, and he was excited to discover the rare plant he had read about.
Cs: Natálie, s foťákem zavěšeným kolem krku, si už představovala dokonalou fotografii do školního projektu.
En: Natálie, with a camera hanging around her neck, was already imagining the perfect photograph for her school project.

En: "But we might miss the bus back," whispered Natálie with concern, but at the same time with a spark of adventure in her eyes.
Cs: Nakonec se rozhodla: „Jdeme!
En: She finally decided, "Let's go!"
Cs: “Hledali a nervózně kontrolovali hodinky.
En: They searched and nervously checked their watches.
Cs: Zima zesílila, fialověly jim prsty, ale nevzdávali se.
En: The cold intensified, their fingers turned purple, but they didn't give up.
Cs: A pak, za rohem jednoho ze skleníků, to objevili.
En: And then, around the corner of one of the greenhouses, they found it.
Cs: Uprostřed sněhu kvetla vzácná rostlina.
En: In the middle of the snow bloomed the rare plant.
Cs: Malá, ale krásná.
En: Small, but beautiful.
Cs: Jakub s údivem sledoval ten zázrak zimní přírody.
En: Jakub watched in awe at this winter wonder.
Cs: Natálie neotáleli.
En: Natálie didn't hesitate.
Cs: Navzdory mrznoucím rukám udělala několik záběrů.
En: Despite her freezing hands, she took several shots.
Cs: „Mám ji!
En: "Got it!"
Cs: “ zvolala se smíchem.
En: she exclaimed with laughter.
Cs: Ale čas utíkal rychleji, než si mysleli.
En: But time was passing faster than they thought.

En: "We have to run," commanded Jakub, and they set off through the snow.

En: They made it at the last minute.

En: Jakub carefully tucked a small leaf as a keepsake into his book.
