Story Transcript:

En: The summer sun entered through the large windows of the high school science lab, illuminating the workbench where Marco and Giulia were immersed in their chemistry project.

En: The air was dense with the scent of reagents, and the sounds of beakers and test tubes filled the environment.

It: Marco amava la chimica.

En: He enjoyed mixing substances and observing reactions, but there was a problem: asthma.

En: "We can do it, Giulia," said Marco, with a hint of anxiety in his voice, as he looked at the substances in front of him.

It: Giulia era calma e fiduciosa.
En: Giulia was calm and confident.

It: "Sì, ce la faremo.
En: "Yes, we will do it.

It: E se avrai bisogno, sono qui," rispose lei, sorridendo.
En: And if you need anything, I'm here," she replied, smiling.

It: Era un sorriso rassicurante che confortava sempre Marco.
En: It was a reassuring smile that always comforted Marco.

It: Si trattava di un esperimento importante.
En: It was an important experiment.

It: Dovevano ottenere il colore esatto per passare l'esame finale.
En: They had to achieve the exact color to pass the final exam.

En: "We can't make a mistake," Marco murmured, already feeling a slight tightness in his chest.

It: Man mano che avanzavano nell'esperimento, l'agitazione di Marco aumentava.
En: As they progressed in the experiment, Marco's agitation increased.

En: He felt his breathing becoming short, but the thought of the project pushed him to continue.

En: "I'm fine, just one more step," he said, even though he knew it wasn't true.

It: Giulia fissò Marco preoccupata.
En: Giulia looked at Marco, worried.

It: "Sei sicuro?
En: "Are you sure?

It: Sembra che tu abbia difficoltà a respirare," notò lei, pronta a fermarsi.
En: It seems like you're having trouble breathing," she noted, ready to stop.

En: Marco nodded his head, even though he felt the grip of asthma tightening.

It: Ma un istante dopo, l'attacco arrivò improvviso.
En: But a moment later, the attack came suddenly.

It: Marco ansimava, incapace di prendere aria.
En: Marco gasped, unable to take in air.

It: Le provette rimasero sospese a mezz'aria mentre lui lottava per respirare.
En: The test tubes remained suspended in mid-air as he struggled to breathe.

It: "Spostati, Marco!"
En: "Move, Marco!"

It: esclamò Giulia, prendendo in mano la situazione.
En: exclaimed Giulia, taking control of the situation.

It: "Dove hai messo l'inalatore?"
En: "Where did you put your inhaler?"

En: She began rummaging through the notes and project materials in a hurry.

En: It was a total mess, with formulas and accessories scattered everywhere.

It: Finalmente, Giulia trovò l'inalatore.
En: Finally, Giulia found the inhaler.

It: "Ecco, Marco, respira," disse, porgendoglielo immediatamente.
En: "Here, Marco, breathe," she said, handing it to him immediately.

It: Con mani tremanti, Marco lo prese e aspirò profondamente.
En: With trembling hands, Marco took it and inhaled deeply.

It: Dopo pochi istanti, Marco si sentì meglio.
En: After a few moments, Marco felt better.

It: L'aria tornava lenta nei suoi polmoni.
En: The air slowly returned to his lungs.

It: "Grazie, Giulia," riuscì a dire tra i respiri affannosi.
En: "Thank you, Giulia," he managed to say between labored breaths.

It: Giulia gli sorrise, rassicurante come sempre.
En: Giulia smiled at him, as reassuring as ever.

It: "Non preoccuparti per il progetto, possiamo rifarlo.
En: "Don't worry about the project, we can redo it.

En: You're well, and that's what matters."

En: Marco nodded, realizing that his health was more important than any grade.

It: "La prossima volta, mi fermerò prima, te lo prometto."
En: "Next time, I'll stop earlier, I promise."

En: In that moment, he understood the importance of taking care of himself and promised to better manage his asthma in future situations.

It: Il progetto poteva aspettare; la sua salute no.
En: The project could wait; his health could not.
