Ja: 札幌のある春の日、高校生たちは活気づいていました。
En: On a spring day in Sapporo, high school students were full of energy.
Ja: 教室の窓から、ちらほらと桜の花が見えました。
En: Through the classroom windows, cherry blossoms could be glimpsed here and there.
Ja: 桜の季節が始まろうとしていました。
En: The cherry blossom season was about to begin.
Ja: 生徒たちは、これからの旭山動物園への遠足に心を躍らせていました。
En: The students were excited about their upcoming field trip to Asahiyama Zoo.
Ja: クラスの中に、恵子という生徒がいました。
En: In the class, there was a student named Keiko.
Ja: 恵子は内向的で、友達作りが苦手でした。
En: Keiko was introverted and found it difficult to make friends.
Ja: 彼女の隣には、さなという親友がいます。
En: Next to her sat her best friend, Sana.
Ja: さなは、いつも恵子のことを支えてくれます。
En: Sana always supported Keiko.
Ja: そして、りょうたという明るいクラスメイトもいます。

Ja: バスが動き出し、揺れながら旭山動物園に向かいました。

Ja: 動物園に着くころには、空に灰色の雲が広がり始めていました。
En: By the time they reached the zoo, gray clouds had begun to spread across the sky.
Ja: 最初、動物たちを見て回りました。
En: At first, they went around looking at the animals.
Ja: すると、ポツポツと雨が降り始めました。
En: Then, raindrops began to fall.
Ja: 「あれ、雨が降ってきたね」とりょうたが言いました。
En: "Hey, it's starting to rain," said Ryota.
Ja: 「でも、大丈夫！みんなで楽しいことしよう！」
En: "But it's okay! Let's do something fun together!"
Ja: そこで、りょうたは室内でできるアクティビティの提案をしました。
En: Then, Ryota suggested an indoor activity.
Ja: 「みんなで動物クイズをしようよ！」と言いました。
En: "Let's have an animal quiz!" he said.
Ja: 恵子は一瞬ためらいましたが、勇気を出して言いました。「私が問題を作るのを手伝うよ。」
En: Keiko hesitated for a moment, but then bravely said, "I'll help make the questions."
Ja: みんなは賛成しました。
En: Everyone agreed.
Ja: 動物園の室内の広場に集まり、恵子とりょうたはクイズを始めました。

En: On the bus ride back, Keiko noticed that the rain outside the window had stopped.
Ja: そして、心の中で、彼女自身にも少し晴れ間が広がったように感じました。
En: She felt a bit of sunshine spreading in her heart as well.
Ja: この日を通じて、恵子は自分に自信を持ち、友達ともっと深くつながれるようになりました。
