中美军队海空对峙，中国不忍了？China and US militaries: dangerously close?

今年5月26日，一架中国歼-16战斗机在南中国海上空近距离拦截一架美国空军侦察机，双方最靠近时只有仅仅122公尺。

几天后，中美对峙又在台湾海峡上演。6月3日，美国钟云号驱逐舰与一艘加拿大护卫舰在台湾海峡航行时，中国海军苏州号突然快速横切到美国钟云号前方，双方最近距离只有140公尺。

这两起事件发生在今年的香格里拉对话前后。这也是今年以来中美两军最激烈的摩擦事件。

中国连续两次以如此激烈的方式去拦截美国的机舰，是要发出什么信号？还是这是一种新的门罗主义的抬头？

Late last month, a Chinese fighter jet flew close to a US reconnaissance aircraft over the South China Sea. About a week later, a Chinese navy vessel cut sharply across the path of a US destroyer that was sailing through the Taiwan Strait with a Canadian frigate. The closest distance between the Chinese and American vessels was 140 metres.

Occurring before and after the highly anticipated defence summit Shangri-La Dialogue, the incidents are the most intense encounters between the Chinese and US militaries this year.
