These guys won't stop talking.
And you can pretty much do it.
You're in mass.
In perpetuity.
Yep, the sports hall.
I saw a pull quote that I actually said that I did say it.
But there was a butt at the end of it.
And it was, you know, basically, you know,
I think if you had to look historically,
like this draft probably isn't great,
that was what was taken.
But if we do our job and we do everything right,
like, we're going to be able to get a good player
with every pick.
And that's our intention.
I feel that way about every draft,
no matter what happens.
There's always avenues in ways to improve the team.
About the positions.
I mean, I think it's a pretty strong draft
on the offensive and defensive line.
You know, secondary, maybe not as much.
Receiver and tight end are pretty good in comparison
to some of the recent years.
So yeah, we're excited about some of these opportunities.
And, you know, there's some, you know,
matchups to some positions of need for us.
But be that as it may, it gets us into draft talk.
And Pedro Stark with Christopher Gaspar who joins us now.
Via zoom, he's brought you by Premiere basement water proofing
our guys at Premiere Wish, our teams,
the best of luck in the playoffs.
And also to all the runners in the marathon on Monday,
we all have your back.

Premiere always has your back.
Lots of rain this week.

It's game over for water, right?
I'm sorry, I didn't even ask you.
What is it?
Game over for water.
Hi, Gaspar, how you doing?
Hey, good. How are you guys?
Hi, Chris.
Where do you stand on the,
on the Patriots and the draft
and what they should be doing in the first round at this hour?
Yeah, I mean, for me, I'm going to be disappointed
if they end up sticking and picking at 31.
Unless there's somebody who falls to them,
somebody like a Jordan Tyson,
the wide receiver from Arizona state,
or I happen to really like a key messador
who was the other side of that devastating tandem
at Miami with Rubin Bain.
If somebody like that is there,
if it becomes a Mac Jones situation like a few years ago,
and I'm not raving about the Mac Jones pick,
but I am raving about the way they did it.
They just sat there and let the guy fall to him.
And if you don't have to do anything, that's fine.
But outside of that,
I think they either should be moving up in this draft
to try and get somebody who's a little higher up the board.
There's no way there's,
there's 31 guys across the NFL
who are consistently graded
as first round picks by these teams in this draft.
I mean, Elliott Wolf wasn't wrong
when he says it's, you know,
it's not the greatest draft in the world.
Or knowing what you know now
with the AJ Brown situation,
which more and more every day,
you get these reports from different people
and different insiders.
I think Jeff Darlington was the latest one today
on get up talking about, you know,
this is gonna happen after June 1st.
It seems like the Eagles are prioritizing the cap space
over maybe a higher draft pick.
So if you know you're gonna have to give up 2027 draft capital
to get AJ Brown in the building,
then I would look at trading back from 31
and into more of the meat of this draft,
which is supposed to be 50 through 75.
And maybe you can pick up either on day one or day two
or day three, you're able to pick up a 2027 pick
and that helps you cushion the blow a little bit.
But my over arching theme here,
my 30,000 foot view on this thing would be,
they need game changers.
And I'll be disappointed if it's like 11 more
or 12 more rookies come in
and a bunch of these guys are taken after the fourth round.
And I think they can find and cultivate depth.
They did a good job of that last year.
If you look at the Super Bowl
and the way Seattle played against them,
it was a lack of game changers.
They didn't fear any of their skill position players
on offense other than May.
And defensively, I don't think they really feared anybody.
Now, I know someone's gonna say,
well, what about Christian Gonzalez?
He had a good game.
He definitely did.
But there were two times JSN beat him for touchdowns
and Darnell, that stiff who I can't believe
has a Super Bowl to his name,
was late or behind or both on the throw.
So they lack difference makers
and it's not happening at 31.
I don't think so.
I mean, again, unless somebody falls to you,
I mean, the last two times they picked there
and look, I'll tell you, I was dead wrong about this pick
because I liked it.
I loved when they picked Sony Michelle.
I thought it was a great pick.
But Sony Michelle and Chris Slade was a good player.
But when you look at it overall,
I just, I'm not confident that sticking at 31,
they have a better chance of getting a difference maker
if the board falls the way a lot of people think it will,
then say if they traded back and picked it 43,
I'm not sure there's a huge difference
between those picks in this draft.
How high would they have to get if they're trading up
to get a difference maker?
Well, you probably would have to get up into the...
What's the tight end?
Tell me about the tight end for Morgan.
Yeah, so, you know, he's interesting in that
he's a very athletic tight end
and he's, I say he's more in the sort of Kyle Pitsmo
than a traditional tight end,
but when you look at what Josh McDane has done
in the past with that type of tight end,
you know, you can say Aaron Hernandez
was that type of guy, that type of move tight end.
And what you see the trend is in the NFL
in terms of multiple tight end sets.
The Rams were running three tight end sets.
Well, when you're doing that, you know,
not all three of those guys
you're putting on the field are traditional, you know,
block and be able to run tight ends.
They're not all George Kiddell guys.
So he's almost like drafting a big receiver
and you could definitely make a case for that
in terms of the offense you run,
the offensive coordinator you have
and being able to create matchups.
Okay, and his name, again, I just,
I just want to...
Sedeek, I think, I just got up to grab the draft guy
because I don't know the name.
I just know there's,
there's an interesting prospect
of tight end out of Oregon again.
Six, three, two, 41.
And you could make the claim that he's like
one of these difference maker tight ends
and tight ends are typically undervalued.
You know, you don't have to off and pits went high,
but you don't often have to get,
I mean, Grand Cowsky's second round pick
I know there's injuries, but you know what I'm saying, Chris,
you can get...
Yes, you look at George Kiddell,
but you know, he was a middle round draft pick.
Or, but I mean, Warren last year,
when...
Time Warren, 14th I met.
Okay, middle of the first round.
Where did he was a difference maker?
Where did Bowers go?
Oh, he was high.
He was the first one.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, but what part of the first round?
I want to say like seven.
Yeah, he was like top 10.
And a kid from Chicago,
loved one, went before Warren did.
13th round.
Coolston, loved one.
Yes, he had a great career at Michigan.
So I'm just asking if Sadeek is in that ballpark
and if Sadeek is worth trading up for,
and how do you feel about that?
Yeah, I would be okay with that,
depending on what they had to give up.
I mean, he's the type of player
where I think you have to have a plan for him, right?
You have to know how you're going to use him.
But if he and I know Murray will remember this guy
and he had a good little run for a couple of years,
but if he's like a Vernon Davis,
for you, you know, for a couple of years,
I mean, that's the type of guy who can perform
and be a tight end and be a number one type
wide receiver for you.
Chris, so let's stick on this guy, okay,
because I want to tighten it.
I want to tighten that can do both.
This guy feels a little undersized.
When I say he's like 241 pounds.
Okay, so he's probably not a great blocker, right?
But what are his receiving flaws?
If any, does he have good hands?
Can he catch the ball?
Yeah, I mean, from, you know,
I haven't done like a tape breakdown of him,
like other people have, but yes,
he does have good hands.
He can go up and get it.
Like I said, I mean, I think Kyle Pitts
is kind of a good, a good comp for him in terms,
and normally you don't look at a tight end
and think, oh man, this tight end can stretch the field,
but Siddi can absolutely stretch the field with his speed
and be able, and he can take a short pass
and turn it into a long one too.
So you have a guy like that,
and you want to match him up and create the matchups
and use him in that way,
then there's an offense and there's a way to use him
where if he turns out to be what people think he's going to be,
again, he can be your number one pass catching option.
And for a team like the Patriots that maybe doesn't have
a number one wide receiver being able to generate that guy,
kind of manufacture that guy or that production
in a different way, Siddi could,
he could definitely do that,
but I wouldn't really expect him to block anybody.
I mean, he's kind of like the way,
and I'm not saying he's this type of player or will be,
but you got to think of a more like Travis Kelsey
and what Bella check used to say,
well, Kelsey's really just a big receiver.
That's what you're getting.
He's not really going to block him when he's in the game.
He's in there to get the football and run routes and do that.
Dallas Clark, I just, I heard,
I can't remember who I was listening to.
Someone talk about this guy.
I'm like, oh, I don't know.
It just sort of feels like a back door into an impact player.
Well, so I was just going to say,
if you're telling me he can be a number one receiver type,
then I'll give up the blocking thing,
but I don't want some clown who's going to catch 40 balls
and can't block.
The Dane Bugler beast draft guide says he's a dogged blocker.
Split zone, second level lead block with physical hands
that always finish.
He's a self starter and looks to maximize his talent.
One NFL scout said quit, said, quote, driven kid.
The coaching staff had to pull him back at times and quote,
teammates mentioned Sadeek first is the toughest player
to cover in practice.
I don't know, I'm just giving you something there.
I don't know.
No, it's good.
And I think look, look at the college level as a 240 pound tight.
I mean, he's a willing blocker.
But I don't, I don't think he's going to be able to do much blocking
at the NFL levels.
That's me.
Who's the receiver that you mentioned, Chris?
The receiver.
Oh, Jordan Tyson.
So you think he is a different maker that might drop
or you would have to go up into the 20s?
Yeah, it's heard a lot.
Yeah, that's the thing.
The injury.
So he might drop because of the injury thing.
But I think he's a pretty complete wide receiver.
He can do a lot of different things.
I think he's a good route runner.
He's talked about that before too.
He's talked about studying route running, studying guys like Justin Jefferson.
But the injury situation with him is something where he could drop potentially, you know,
if you're sitting there and somehow he drops to you or he gets close to you, you're
at 31 and he's still on the board at 26, 27.
I would really have to think about it.
The other thing for them that he's quickly, he scares me.
Yeah.
Well, what kind of injuries do we talk about?
What?
He's like hamstrings.
Oh, no.
Coming out of the ass.
No.
He's not the most, he hasn't been the most durable guy.
No, he's an ASU kid.
I've seen him play.
He's good.
He's fast.
Hamstrings coming out of his ass.
Yeah.
But he's tough, visual.
It's all, it's a lot of hamstring injuries.
I'm telling you, there's always a leg injury with this guy.
He's good, but he's always hurt, always, always, always.
Okay.

Are they 100% are they?
Yes, 100 did I do I study you consider them the periodic table of sports top.
Put down your pipe and smoke, but sorry.
We need to blow a gas.
No, blow it, baby.
Blow it.
Bellgirt and mass.
Can you talk me into how did the Sixers make this a series?
Not without Joelle and bead.
No way.
It's that simple.
I have the Celtics in 5.5 games.
The 0.5 is for the uncertainty around Joelle and bead.
I don't think without him that they have nearly enough juice to compute
with the Celtics, and it's just such a heavy lift for Maxi and Edgecomb.
It's hard work without that year, without that element of the offense.
I think they're minus three per 100 possessions for the season when Maxi plays without
and bead, something like that.
Again, we haven't seen the fully healthy Celtics against the fully healthy Sixers this
year.
And so as a result, the bulk of the Maxi assignment has gone to guys like Hugo Gonzalez,
Baylor Shireman, and in a landmark Boston win, Jordan Walsh played, like, made a name,
basically made his rotation spot by guarding Tyrese Maxi.
Right now, none of those guys are in the starting five.
My guess is Derek White will start on him because it's White, Brown, Tatum, Hauser, who
I think Maxi will try to hide on on the other end, and Kate.
So that's at least, you know, an interesting wrinkle to start with is like, who guards Maxi?
Where does Maxi try to look for his offense?
He'll try to hunt Hauser, I would imagine, and invite Boston to switch.
It's just going to be tough sledding.
No M.B.
I just see no, no shot.
I said earlier, if the Sixers take more than one game, if this game goes six, something
went wrong for the Celtics, or I'd be a little lary of the Celtics, play off readiness
if they give up two to the Sixers.
What do you think?
Um, I mean, I wouldn't go that far.
I expect to win in five.
If somehow it did go to six, the Sixers do have guys, and it's not just Maxi and Edge
come, but they have guys Paul George has been shooting pretty well since he came back.
He's over 40% from three since he came back from the steroid suspension.
And then they have these other guys like Kelly Ubrey and Quentin Grimes, who could get
hot for one game and steal a game.
They have guys who are capable of doing that and like getting unconscious for like one
game.
So I wouldn't necessarily dig the Celtics if somehow it ended up going six.
The challenge for the Celtics, I think, when you look at the Sixers, there's two things
that the Sixers do well, just outside of having Maxi and Edge come one, they're pretty good
at protecting the rim.
Even without imbede, you know, they were top five in the league this year in blocks.
And a Dombana had to play a lot of games for them and Andre Drummond too.
And if you watched any of that play in game that they played, you know, one of the, one
of the issues there was trying Orlando trying to get into the paint and finish at the rim.
They had a heck of a time against Philly trying to finish at the rim.
And that's something Philly has been consistent with.
And then the other thing is the Sixers are, you know, and the top does.
And I think they're like 11th and free throw attempts.
So Maxi and some of these other guys will, you know, get to the line, obviously imbede's
a guy who gets to the line a lot.
So that's going to be tempered a little bit, but they are pretty good at it.
It's still getting to the free throw line.
And it does that become one of these things that sort of mentally just lodges the Celtics.
If they feel like, well, Maxi's getting these calls, but we know we're not getting these
calls.
That could be an issue for them.
And because it's been an issue in the past where they get off task and distracted by
the officiating.
Let's see on that.
How do you this playoff run in general for the Celtics?
I've come around to Murray's way of looking at this the more I look, I mean, they, it's
NBA Finals are bust.
Now once you get there, you don't know who you're going to face.
If it's Oklahoma City, if it's San Antonio, if it's Denver, there's no shame in losing
to those teams.
But when I look at the Eastern Conference, they are clearly the favorite.
You know, Draft Kings has them as the clear favorite.
Their ceiling is higher than everybody else's ceiling.
And the 30,000 foot view on this is Tatum and Brown have talked about this this week.
They've been together to five Conference Finals.
They've been to two NBA Finals.
They have one ring.
This is a bonus chance at getting to an NBA Finals and competing for a championship
that we didn't think was going to happen back in September, October.
This is one of these bonus chances.
They can't really afford to squander it because you look at it.
Brown's under contract for three more years.
This CBA is prohibitive to begin with in terms of trying to keep two Super Max players
the caliber of Brown and Tatum together.
Brown's going to turn 30 in October.
It doesn't mean he's going to fall off the table, but you, you can't look at this and
think this team definitely has five, six, seven more title runs in them.
And history shows a lot of times these title runs end pretty quickly.
They end sooner than you think, you know, look at the 80s Celtics, right?
You know, you're in the finals in 87.
The next year you lose in the Eastern Conference Finals to the pistons.
And then the bird parish, Mikhail Celtics, they won two more rounds than the rest of the
way and never got back to a finals.
You know, bird had the double heel surgery in 89.
You just don't know.
And so if you're the Celtics, this is not an opportunity to get to a finals where you
never know what can happen that they really can afford to squander.
So Chris, you don't believe that this thing like a, I think a lot of Celtics, me and
sort of operate under the premise of, okay, this was the gap here.
They'll be together for another five years after this.
You don't believe that.
I would like to believe that.
But again, I think NBA history says you can't bank on that mask.
You can't.
We already saw one of them suffer a major injury and, and Tatum, which derailed a championship
chase.
I don't use that series anyway, but still it's a rail and it derailed it to the point
where you felt like it was going to derail it the next year.
Now the team turned out to be better than people expected.
Brown had an outstanding year.
I still think it was important.
I heard you the other day, Felger talking about me sort of going off the deep end and
you're not wrong about that.
But I still think that it was very important to have Peyton Pritchard and Derek White
step up and settle in their roles.
And I do remember saying to you at the time that, you know, I think you can bank on
Jalen Brown being this the rest of the year and you were like, how do you know that?
I don't think you can bank on that.
What do you mean?
So Jalen Brown, I think, had established himself early.
But the reality is I just don't think you can bank on this idea that there's five, six,
seven more runs with these two guys between contract stuff, the CBA, aging injuries.
That's a dangerous game to play.
They need to approach this postseason with a real sense of urgency.
Chris, I know you're with me and that they should get out of the east.
But is there a slight chance where maybe sleeping on the nicks and that, look, that last
brown that the game that they played on, I know that Jalen Brown didn't play.
But for all the chemistry issues that team has had this year, they do get up for the
Celtics.
Can I, yeah, can I just, I want your thoughts on nicks and pistons.
Yeah, okay.
Who's a tougher matchup and is that a tough road for the Celtics and to Jim's, are they
sleeping on, are we all sleeping on the nicks?
Maybe we are.
I don't think it's a tough road and given the, I mean, look, think about travel, right?
Philadelphia, you don't have to travel that far where you assume it's going to be the
nicks.
That's not traveling that far.
We'll see what the Eastern Conference Finals would be.
They get there.
I assume it would be Cleveland or Detroit.
In terms of the nicks, the nicks are an interesting matchup for the Celtics based on the size,
you know, Carl Anthony Towns, what he can do and then Mitchell Robinson, his ability to
rebound.
You saw Missoula trying to get him off the court last year with the intentional filing.
And then the other factor is they have a closer, you know, Brunson is a closer.
Now, he's a defensive liability, but he's very good at closing.
He was a clutch player the year last year in the NBA.
And there's also that idea we've talked about before that the nicks don't necessarily
fear the Celtics.
The nicks showed last year in those first two games that they could take the Celtics
best shot and still get up.
That being said, I think the nicks have underachieved this year.
I still am not sure that all the pieces totally fit together for them.
Carl Anthony Towns has to prove to me that he can be a winner.
You know, he was pretty good a couple of years ago, obviously, in Minnesota, the series
against Yokecitch in Denver.
But I'm just not sure that he has enough and that the nicks have enough to be able to
beat the Celtics.
I still would feel really good about the Celtics in that series.
Why do you think the pistons go ahead?
Yeah.
Well, you think, you think it's Cleveland or Detroit?
You're kind of down on Detroit as a, as a favorite.
Why kind of like Cleveland, I'm looking at it and thinking even though Hardin is getting
dangerously close to you look at his playoff games, like he's up there.
He's, he's pretty high on the list of guys with the most playoff games to never win a
championship.
Cause he's right there.
He's fourth or fifth.
Why am I asked?
He's a loser.
Okay.
Proceed.
Chris.
Yeah.
But but I still think Cleveland, Dunven Mitchell always plays well against the Celtics.
He's a guy that I think can elevate in the playoffs.
I like some of the moves they made.
They haven't necessarily paid off in terms of bringing in Keon Ellis is a guy that they
brought in what I like defensively, Evan Mobley.
I thought was going to take a leap this year.
He didn't Jared Allen, but they do have size.
And I think, you know, that matters.
They have size in terms of, and they're not guys who are like stiffs.
You know, Allen and Mobley are good players and good defenders.
You guys remember, um, 2024, when, when Evan Mobley was giving Tatum kind of a hard
time on the perimeter, on the perimeter and one of those games, you know, guarding him.
He's a good, he was defensive player of the year last year.
So I think there's more with Cleveland, their coach Kenny Atkinson is good.
I like Detroit, but I feel like there's an element of the old Brad Steven Celtics to
them where they overachieve in the regular season.
They play harder than everybody else.
They have size two in Jalen Durn.
He's had a really good year.
I just don't know if they have enough offense and shooting around Kade Cunningham to be
able to get all the way to the conference finals.
Got more on this.
Got your calls.
I promise.
With Casper, right?
If a big Jamerie gets you up to it.
You know the place.

For Tom and Quincy as a thought, hi, Tommy.
Hi, guys.
Hey, I have a thing about this Red Sox situation where going in with season, we all knew because
the offense was going to be suspect that the teacher would have to be there and they'd
have to get off to a hot spot.
Ah, they've done the polar opposite of a hot spot and now they're going into the thick
of it.
They need to get those games against the Reds and the Cardinals, you know, in Houston.
They didn't.
Now, you got the tigers and the Yankees and then after that, you're going to face the
tigers again.
You got two more divisional opponents after that.
We're the hell of these wins going to come.
They're starting to get really in the thick of it right now and by the end of the beginning
of May, they might be out of this thing altogether.
Thank God the rest of the league kind of is just mediocre at best, but they're going
to fall themselves behind in a sick way where I don't think they're going to get out
of it if they fall behind after the season.
Gas for your current temperature on the Reds, huh?
Yeah, it's interesting when you look at them.
I mean, there are two things that stand out to me statistically about them.
One, this is a team that's supposed to be built on starting pitching and defense.
They are 26 in Major League Baseball and starting pitcher ERA.
It's over five.
It's 5.01.
Incredibly, if you look at some of the stat cast defensive metrics like out above average,
they're like top five.
I'm guessing that mostly has to do with the outfield, Matt.
I don't know if you ever thought on that, but I'm, I watched the infee.
I mean, Myers, good, but I look at the infield.
I'm like, how are they in the top five and outs above average?
Because some of those modern metrics blow.
That's why Chris.
So I'm serious.
I hate to give it to you that bluntly, but just watch them play like, you know, so they
make mistakes.
Like, I'll tell you what play we didn't talk about this week just quickly, Mike.
The ground ball hit up the middle the other night that Trevor's story, a way through
his glove.
Yes.
That one.
Perposterous.
Okay.
He caught the ball and tried to make a flip.
I know.
And so it was a reckless play.
It caught them.
Cost them a room.
The clownish.
It does.
It was.
It was clownish.
And so this is the kind of thing he got to the ball or Raphaela gets to the ball and
over throws a cutoff man.
So I would tell you that is there range in places pretty good?
Yeah.
I think Durban moves pretty well.
Marcelo Mayer moves pretty well.
And Raphaela and Durand can cover ground.
But what they do when they get the ball is often stupid.
So I just think that the range numbers are, you know, the range numbers are good, but
what good does that do if you're not turning it into outs?
I'd still love to see that, that conversion stat.
How many balls they actually turn into outs because I bet you it's not that great.
Either way, Gaspar.
You worried?
Uh, I mean, worried, they're pretty much what I didn't pick them to make the play
off.
So I mean, again, I said like 85 win team.
So I can't really say I'm worried because I didn't think this plan was ever going to work,
which leads me to my number two stat that stands out to me.
They're 29th at Major League Baseball and home runs.
The only team with fewer home runs is the Giants.
And I'm sure someone will say, oh, you know, Devers, I don't care, that's, that's BS.
If Devers were here, he'd be hitting better and hitting more home runs.
The countless guys have gone to San Francisco, whether it's Willie Adamis, whether it's Matt
Chapman, you look at these guys.
That's where power hitters go to die unless you're voided out of your mind like Barry
Bonds.
And that's one of the reasons they tried to trade for Devers in the first place is because
they can't get consistent power.
A big part of that is their ballpark and the weather and think about the fact too with
the Giants that they've been so desperate for a power hitter and the conditions are so
unfavorable for power hitters in their home park that even though they're in a division
with the Colorado Rockies and Cours Field, they still struggle to hit home runs.
If the Red Sucks are going to finish the season, 29th, which is also last of the American
League, by the way, in home runs, no shot, no shot at making the playoffs.
And they've had a nice little stretch here offensively, but you can't piece this together.
They're not as, as, as Al's Cours said to Maz, you know, there's no batting coach that's
going to take them from a 28% strikeout rate down to 18.
They've had a nice little stretch here scoring some runs, particularly against some pitchers
that I don't think are that good.
That's what the power level is going to be.
There's no way.
Also, there are two and six when Roman Anthony plays left field.
That's one I might panic on a little bit.
I believe he's deaching again tonight.
Is that correct?
A Roman Anthony is.
He is.
You know, it's funny.
I remember.
That's not great.
No, go ahead.
No, go ahead.
A year ago, when we saw him in spring training, I think I said this kid might be a
D.H. and I got mocked for it.
I got mocked for it.
And you know what?
He might be a D.H.
And this one, which guy is he better than in the outfield right now?
Matsus, Yoshida.
Okay.
Who's another D.H.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Yoshida.
So like, look, I'm worried about Anthony for different reasons, but the fact of the matter
is, let's just go with what Chris was saying a second ago.
If you don't hit home runs and you strike out a lot, you suck.
No, I'm serious.
It's one of them.
It's worth the sink.
Then what I thought, that's basically my point.
Yeah.
Find the baseball players in history who didn't hit home runs and strike out a lot.
And I would tell you every one of them sucked.
There's a red sox minute for you.
Did you enjoy it?
You can weigh in on that.
Ever last week when we asked him about Rable Rossini pleaded, so now he says, not quench
though.
Well, I'm quoting you.
You said, can I plead, so I asked that and then you said, no, it was a good line.
I just wanted to repeat it.
Okay.
He has to take this week.
You'll hear it right after these words later on this hour as well, first and update from
Big Jim Murray.
Can I plead the zone?
No.

And Mike, you know, people feel like he got off scoffry, okay?
I think the patriots are also, he's a coward and the patriots are a terrible organization
because they don't demand that he clear this up for their fan base and for their players
to move forward to let people know what exactly this was.
And let us hear from your mouth so that we don't have to speculate, we don't have to figure
it out for ourselves, we don't have to guess.
You gotta be willing to stand up there, good, bad or indifferent every single time.
That's the standards that's set.
That's why people don't respect the patriots for all the winning that they've done is
because there's always some cheating scandal or something that's behind it.
Even with their owner, there was a good situation.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Like this is who the patriots are.
Gaspard, your thoughts on Vrable were seen this week.
First, I have to say, like, you know, I do respect Rob, but he is one of the great patriots
haters of all time.
I mean, it's like Chappelle show like hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.
He's been like that for a minute.
So that was a tour de force.
He's on the board of directors.
Definitely.
He really is.
Totally.
He's just going in.
And he's been like that for a long time.
He's hated on the patriots.
So he has that move down pat, no question about that.
What strikes me about this now, you know, after seeing Diana resign and obviously the athletic
is going ahead with the investigation into her work is now, you know, really her reputation
is on the line here.
And I think about that NFL countdown story that was done this year about Mike Vrable and
how he has empowered female reporters and how he sort of always gives them the first
question.
And we all witnessed that here in New England.
It usually goes to Karen Gregion, who is honestly probably the toughest reporter I've
ever competed against.
She's outstanding.
All the players from Vrable's era on up have loved her and trusted her.
Trust me.
She doesn't need any help getting her questions in.
So what I would say is now looking at this whole thing with Rossini and the fact that
he hasn't said anything, even coming out and just defending her journalistic integrity
or their interactions journalistically, doesn't it feel like that NFL countdown thing and
by extension, what he does in terms of making sure a female reporter gets the first question,
doesn't that feel like it's performative and just lip service?
Yeah.
Because here's your chance to really stand up and sort of take a stand and say, no, no,
like, you know, whatever may have happened to your, whatever anybody thinks, you know,
Diane has covered me for years.
It's always been this that.
So either he can't say that because it's not true or he won't say it, which I would
say is disappointing.
But either way, now is the time I think he could really stand up for female reporters
and it's not just, hey, you get to ask the first question at my press conference and
it's radio silence.
So you're a little disappointed in his, in his silence to this point, a little bit,
a little bit.
And again, I, to be honest, you know, I have respect for Mike and I do think he honestly
is trying to be inclusive, but I think the whole thing was overrated from the jump.
You know, the, I was happy to see Karen get what she deserved in terms of recognition
for the great reporter she's been and is that why I was excited to see that ESPN story
when they did it, you know, that they interviewed her.
But the whole thing that Rabel's been doing, I just kind of, I lost a little bit of respect
for it when there were the allegations against Seth Diggs and Christian Baramore and I believe
it was Karen who asked him if he was disappointed that the allegations had come up and he said
he wasn't disappointed.
You know, obviously there was more context to it, but you know, she asked him that question.
It was kind of like, no, I'm not disappointed.
I mean, you're not at least a little disappointed that your players names would be a tag
attached to violence against women.
That was when I was kind of like, okay, I think this is just kind of lip service with
you and that the him always calling on a female reporter now feels a bit fraudulent or
you know, you feel differently about it.
You can always make the case that it's overcompensating in some way like, you know, in my private
life, I like this side doing, but in my professional life, I'll always call it a female reporter
first because that, that one negates the other.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
And I also could be like a little sorry, but also could cut and again, I'm not a female reporter.
So they have to go through things I've never gone through.
And so, you know, I could be wrong on this, but I also think it sort of comes off.
I mean, again, you guys, Felger, Matt, you worked with Karen.
I mean, she's outstanding.
He doesn't need any help.
I worked with other people.
If anything, if anybody needs help, it's those of us who are competing against her.
So it comes off to me as a little sort of patronizing, you know, it's like Mike is sort
of like, oh, you know, they even I don't think this is his intention, but I think there's
a way you can read it where it's a little bit kind of, oh, you're like, in that Karen,
but you're like lesser than some of the other younger reporters.
Like you're like lesser than and you need this help.
So I'm going to give it to you.
So Chris, I think it's more about variable when he does this stuff than it is about Karen
because for the reasons you said, Karen doesn't need to help.
But when we add him up now, Mike, between, you know, having female reporters go first,
there's anything wrong with it, but the fact that he does it.
And rolling around on the ground and training camp to break out the fight or grabbing with
a guy at a practice because I want to see how he holds up.
There's a lot of grandstanding there, right?
There's a lot of, you know, I'm going to do it different or stand in the tunnel and
greet the players after every game.
It's, you know, there's a lot of stuff that you see.
I can't.
Right.
When you add it all up and you say, well, wait a minute.
Like what, what is really the purpose of all this?
Is it because again, I think he and whoever takes calls form or messages form, whether
it's strength or anybody else, they play the media game very well.
And there's a lot of stuff out there that makes variable look good.
So the story just dropped on ESPN.com a long takeout inside the fallout with the Rossini
and Mike Vrable photos, Ben Strauss, ESPN.com.
I'm just, I got the highlighter on.
So I'm just, all that time again, I'm starting to pick the wells, the wells report highlighters
back.
I'm starting to pick my way through it.
So I'm so dangerous.
I'm kind of in and out on this.
Is there a gasper and Murray?
I did.
Yes.
Back tomorrow, 11 to two.
11 to two.
11 to two.
Okay.
I look forward to listening in after this story gets fully picked apart and more I'm sure.
Huh?
Can I ask a, can I ask a quick grab ask question before I go?
Yeah.
Sure.
So I happen to be watching the show yesterday.
I don't often get to see the TV part of it.
Why at the end of the NBC sports Boston portioned are there numerous.
I've called them glamour shots of you two at the end of the show.
And no glamour shot of Murray because look at them.
Yeah.
They're point.
And I don't need that.
Wow.
That was too easy.
Come on.
It's something Vinnie does when there is a sort of a, there's nothing specific to cover.
But Jim is playing Jimmy Stewart is playing audio wise.
So he has this gallery of old PR shots that they took of Maz and I just, it is good.
It's glamour shots.
Yeah.
They're glamour shots.
Yeah.
There it is right there.
Yeah.
They got me like leaning on a concrete wall.
Look at those baby blues on man.
Well, Maz is like a pounding like a, like a model like, well, yeah, Maz is Maz is giving
you blue steel there.
He's giving you blue steel.
I got good eyes, Chris.
So this is what Vinnie just puts up there to cover something generic anyway, we do need
some Murray glamour shots.
Well, listen to you guys tomorrow.
Love it too.
Thanks for coming by Chris.
Thanks guys.
