So the second game of the under 20 monster championship
against Limerick in six mile bridge this week,
battling the last day and Claire looking at the table anyway
in a good spot heading into this game against Limerick.
Yeah, and again, no more than the seniors,
you know, we've our first two games at home,
which is kind of unusual.
But yeah, look at I think the last day against water
would look at the first day of the championship,
you're never really sure of where you're at.
Now by Claire's own standards and probability,
they're on expectations that didn't reach the levels
that they would have preferred more importantly.
They still got the result with, you know,
Fred Hagerty's goal being crucial.
Look at I suppose at this level,
it's a learning experience for some players
and you know, I expect maybe changes to come.
You were down the last day, you know,
Hagerty and Ron and Keane may come back into the fold,
you know, and then, you know, up front,
I taught maybe our forwards were a bit lightweight.
So maybe the more physicality may come in there.
Maybe, you know, maybe tomorrow, kind of,
or someone like that, a bigger, stronger man, a target man.
But I think, you know, they have learned
from their experiences as a first round,
they've had two, they have a two week break
to put it to correct what needed to be corrected
and improve what needed to be improved.
So from a manager to players point of view,
I think there'll be anxious to go out
and, you know, put in a better performance
and they did it home against Waterbird against Limerick,
which they will need.
I think you know, Waterbird, Limerick, you know,
scored 21 points against, against Carth Glass Weeks.
So, you know, they have that,
that they have a lot of forwards up front
that, you know, will trouble fair,
if given the chance.
But I do think there's more potential in this clear team,
but it's about getting, you know,
getting it out and putting it on the field.
So I think game Wednesday, then in six mile breaks,
but I think one of those, you know,
three out will be anxious to go out
and to perform better.
And if they do, you know, they're in with a great chance,
you know, so look at,
we haven't seen Wednesday, but again,
you know, what team will there be changes,
you know, who will be available and all that.
So we just have to wait and see.
You have that round, had that round too,
by rather, and two weeks is plenty of time
to brush up on a couple of things
that maybe were lacking the first time out against Waterbird.
It is, yeah, it probably, you know,
I give the clear amount of the chance
to have a look at Limerick against Cox.
So, you know, they'll have their homework
and analysis done of, you know, Limerick's strengths
and weaknesses and that.
So yeah, it is.
And again, you know, not even though we were talking,
we're talking about the performance,
not to be, you know, getting out and doing it again
in the next game, now all the years,
you know, Claire had the luxury of winning that game
by nothing.
Well, so, you know, I think it's in Claire's favor now
that, you know, they guess two points against Limerick.
That's the two against Waterbird, you know,
which gives them a real real chance of, you know,
making the top three.
I think it's the top team goes to the final
and two plus, two plus three.
So I think that's what Claire or Zem would be at the moment.
It's, you know, to make sure that they qualify
in either one, two or three, this stage, you know,
we'll just have to wait and see how the rest of the games
panels.
And you mentioned that opportunity to see Limerick last week.
They did quite the range of scores, despite losing to Cork.
So they know they've plenty, plenty of names to keep quiet
in six mile bridge and Wednesday night.
Look at the two guys in the half forward line
that are currently on the Limerick scene or panel.
So, you know, Flanagan, and I think it's Lange
and I think so.
Look at that.
I think they'll be well where their strengths was, you know,
look at I taught the last day, Cork, you know,
were physically a bigger stronger team than Limerick.
You know, we're actually our matchup with Limerick.
We just have to wait and see was a, you know, and again,
you know, I suppose it's one of these competitions on seventeens
and miners that, you know, tactics usually don't play a role,
but you know, as we've seen over the last week or so, you know,
it does, it used to be the pure championship on the trendy
was just a potion, hol up the coffin, hold to your strengths,
but it's now gone so, you know, it's analyzed so much now
that, you know, teams are well aware of their strengths and weaknesses.
But the bottom line is you've won perform, you need to win your home games.
And I think if they are performed to their, to where we think they have
to their potential, I think we have a great chance of winning,
getting the two points and putting us in a position to qualify.
You mentioned the experience.
Claire would have got from the, the encounter against water
at the last time, but I suppose you look at Fred Hager
to who got the important goal that night.
He, he's played so much early for Claire at Intercounty Level
already, there is plenty of experience already in the squad,
in the squad, despite how young they are.
Yeah, and again, look at us both over the last couple of years,
you know, we've been acknowledging the, you know,
the role of, you know, don't declare on their edge teams have,
have improved their preparation, their, their essence is improved.
So I look at that's the way it should be.
So I mean, these players, you know, we're, we're seeing at a high level
since, you know, under 17, even though, you know,
it's probably putting a lot of pressure on, on, on very young,
young, young, that's a dead edge, both, you know,
this team has a lot of potential, and, you know,
and probably from a development and going forward,
point of view, it's important that, you know,
we are competitive with all the teams in monster.
So, you know, when we go down the line, open to the scene of reds,
that, you know, these players will be ready to, you know,
just to step up and, you know, we've, we've seen the night
of Arrows and the Jack O'Neils, and those guys stepping into the scene are,
you know, so, so, look, it's a, it's a, it's a building block.
But, you know, I, I do think that they are, you know,
have the groundwork done, it's, it's no matter of, you know,
getting out in contestant and competing against, you know,
your peers within monster to see where you are.
But it's a, it's a tough championship.
But I think one that, you know, players look forward, you know,
really, really representing their country.
And, look, if success comes well in goal, if not,
it's another step on the ladder of development.
And it definitely is your set, then don't, with the two of us here,
but will they be targeting more goals, considering that's where
Limerick were on Donigan's car last week.
Yeah, look at that.
I think, you know, the, the, we didn't have a platform around our
half-back line on it feels just a play.
Now, what we had was a relatively small and light and more
by the inside line.
So I think they looked to improve the distribution and the,
the getting of the ball into the scoring zone, which will be, you know,
we bring in the strengths of our inside line.
No, maybe they may go and change and adapt a different approach,
or it may be a big man at the edge of the square or someone like
tomorrow or kind or someone like that, that has that ability to say.
And so, but I think, look at, I,
turns, he was disappointed, I think, in one way that with the performance,
but obviously the laser with the win.
So they will know where they need to improve, you know, the different areas.
And yeah, I think the goals will win games.
Claire didn't really create, but the one we did create was the, was the
important one.
So it's an aspect, look at that, that Claire mentioned, we'll look at it.
And goals, win games, as we said.
Yeah, and you said already they want to get into that top three, at least,
and it's a key game in terms of if you inflict a second defeat on
Limerick, and if a week later, Clark beat Warford, you have that spot in
the top three secured, and you could even aim it, maybe, maybe getting
that automatic spot in the final.
Yeah, look at the, the mathematics of it.
And, you know, the head to head and all that with, you know,
you lose to your really against it.
So yeah, I think Claire's destiny is in their own hand to win your two games.
And then, you know, it gives you an opportunity to have a goal against
either, you know, cough, cough, or tip, and who knows about that, about that
takes you.
So I think, yes, you know, the, Limerick, no, this is a dual die effort.
And, you know, I expect a real, real, look, it was there ever a Claire Limerick
game that wasn't a bit of a fire and passion, but I expect it to, you know,
because Claire will want to advance and build on the thing.
Limerick, no, full well, that if they get your second defeat, that the chances
are almost gone, you know, before this season starts.
So they'll be important, but they won't fear Claire coming out the six-mile
bridge on Wednesday.
And so it should be real, real, real, humdinger of a game.
