Five folks got pulled from a sinking fishing boat out in the Aleutian Islands on Thursday thanks to a quick Coast Guard response.
The vessel, named Ocean Bay, was taking on water and had run aground near Umbnack Island, but the crew managed to pump it out and hold steady till help.
Showed up, a Coast Guard MH-60 J-Hawke helicopter crew from Air Station Kodiak swooped in and hoisted all five members to safety. No injuries reported.
Coast Guard duty officer, chief petty officer Alex Washington, called it a prime example of their top-notch search and rescue teamwork and dedication to saving lives on the water.
The 58-foot boat, which calls Kodiak home, states stuck on the rocks into Friday, but a contractor's lined up to haul it off.
