like very controlled for him right now I think he's going unbroken on all the

disadvantage for them was the fact that they didn't have all this time to
process and create a good game plan because the truth is with this one and the
time cap you really need a good game plan and that's what you see him approaching

like this godlike figure do everything unbroken it's just not the reality of
how these guys do things and that's fine hey because ultimately by breaking
it up if they're able to go faster they're expressing more power and that's
the intent and they're going and have it overall better time so that's the

about athletes who win an open announcement is them not having the time to
process it and still taking the top score it makes them doing that insane that
isn't really I agree what do we think we should go after 25.3 after 25.3 last

down and might have the fastest time in the world I'm like no way I was like
it's just too early like you're the first one to go everyone's be able to
process and then he did end up having the fastest time I'm pretty sure right on
25.3 yeah and so it's hard to be the first one and then for for that to keep
gosh these are beautiful he moves so well so I think maybe unbroken
thrusters singles on the power cleans might be his game plan here which makes
sense I mean there was a what was it Norikal Sue at the Norikal classic a couple
years ago where nobody was able to finish that workout and Colt was the only
one on the field to finish it so we know he's one of the best thrusters in the
world this is gonna be a crazy performance he texted me before this he goes I'm
scared and I told him and I told him to shut up pussy then but also I wasn't
sure kind of look on a motivation you responded to so I texted back I was
like hey we love you no matter what happens that captures your personality
exactly Taylor first year sweep in your sour I just wasn't sure what you know
I wasn't sure what he was looking for there but I think anytime you see a
workout that you can knock out of the park it makes you really nervous yeah Dave
how many variations of this workout were tested or can see before you landed on
the final one not a ton a lot of not a ton tested but a lot of scripted out a
lot of different a few different written versions but not actual tested now
this is the first the first time since 2016 thrusters and burpees together I
love it such a nasty combination it is a great combination and I think the
the whole piece is everyone expected burpees of course everyone kind of
expected thrusters but some people didn't expect thrusters because of the
wallballs and even there was a long time in this the whole evolution of this
series of open programming when going back and forth with team and boss I was
looking at different different outcomes and for a while I was pretty much set
that we weren't gonna have thrusters at the end because we had wallballs at the
beginning barbell thrusters but then I had to get comfortable with it and I
think what really brought me back full circle and made me comfortable with the
concept of of having the barbell thrusters even though we had such high volume
high rep wallballs in the beginning was the fact that it's broken up with the
clean and so there was an additional piece there and so that that's kind of
how I got to a place where I was comfortable with it and then the
you know what else to like some of these things like some of these things you know
the rowers always use and the double unders I've delivered well for not gonna do
these things he's on pace for a 1230 finish taxa moves are you let's go
calling 999 thank you very much nurse Annie pay up 20 dollars thank you we
appreciate it you guys okay so that weight change took 12 seconds so that means
he'd be on pace for I believe a 12 not it was he was a 1220 so that or sorry
1230 that now he'd be on pace for like a 1305 a 13 minute finish with his

bring that back with some of these with the tight time caps where they were
where they're not a lot of people will finish and so it was a combination of
really everyone in an affiliate can do them and they have like multiple
levels or aspiring things they could get to within each and and in that
still very challenging and tough for the top athletes because you know often
we hear like oh the opens just like we just kind of cruise through that and I
mean sure you can cruise through this but it's still gonna be really hard and
still gonna be a challenging workout wow hey was this the workout in the
testing video where we heard Rafa's feet squeaking I don't remember the video
I'd have to I'd have to see okay I think he's going up I think he's going
sub 14 I changed my mind he's on a crazy page right now 1429 but yeah he
might be faster oh I mean I know I know it starts it I know it starts at
135 but watching him move he's moving so deliberate right now I've never seen
him go this smooth and slow out on a burpee workout like this I just think he
I think he has something up his sleeve I think you're wrong I don't think he's
going up 14 I think the 135thruster and his 115 and 95thruster are all gonna
look the same speed are all gonna look the same effort for Colton here and I
think that's what's gonna be the starting it's fourth round right now right yep

if he finishes this in eight minutes he'd be on a 12 minute pace yeah good

minutes and 15 seconds around would put you where Bryson that would be 4 30

finish his sub 10 for sub 14 he's definitely gonna finish this round sub 10

at 14 minutes um it felt really slow in the beginning but I just seen that everybody else go and
the fastest score so far 15-26 from Jake Rouch oh I know it was crazy fit um 14 like the pace felt
slow there's a minute and a half faster than anything I've seen from really good guys so I was
waiting for the wall to hit me I didn't really start to hurt until like the final 90 seconds
that's when it was like really wanted to put the bar down on thrusters and slow way down on burpees
I'd like for a workout like that um I think I paced it really well I don't think like I felt
that wall but it wasn't so like the last 90 seconds like I said at that point you can push through
for if you get there and there's like six minutes left you're kind of good yeah I was saying at the
beginning of the show I was like wow this is the slowest I've ever seen you do burpees I think you're
just I like and because of that I felt like you had a crazy game plan I thought you're going to
do everything I'm broken but the clean singles on the cleans um Dave rubbed that one in my face as
soon as you broke the first you did the first single clean he's like you were wrong and then he

did you give the official strategy breakdown how do you do it for sentinel do you do it per like
where people think they're gonna get based on like the strategies so or is it just one overarching
strategy yeah we give one overarching strategy basically pricing and I both do the workout we
talk about how it went for us and kind of several different options or tiers but we don't there's
we don't have like this percentage data set of where you fall into and how you should approach it
it's like hey if you expect to make quarterfinals or beyond this is what you should be doing
I would say each tip that we give is we explain the nuance like hey if you're really good at
burpees maybe think about pushing your blah blah or like hey if the bar if the thrust is gonna be
tough for you maybe an extra strike here or if you're really good about it clock two sets I need my
watch so yeah the clock do you guys yeah I got you guys think you would change any of the tips from
your video after watching Colton go or was he just leaning into his strengths and you know
sickle cleans and unbroken thrusters was just for Colton that's not really gonna work for
I think yeah he's leading into his strengths just like you said like hey if he knows he can go
unbroken on the thrusters the whole time and do them really fast the whole time and singles on
the clean is gonna let him do that and not question picking it up for or taking extra breath breath
before you pick it up I think that's specifically for Colton yeah I think the thruster rest is
really expensive I think that's like I forget where some watch like every tip video somebody said
like don't get near failure on the thrusters because then you're gonna take a long break that
was something I remember that was really a really good plan to not hit failure on thrusters for
people haven't done yet yeah amazing program so much value for the money 40 999 damn thank you

around a little bit more with the lighter weight is it even worth it and for him like you said in
the strategy that he executed I think he made the right call but I think for most people when you're
gonna be resting a little bit more anyway you're not doing 1345 on this workout doing like
threes on the 95 pound barbell saves you a little bit of having to grab the bar and chase it and
all that stuff yeah the other thing about it is you have to have so much discipline on a barbell
to stay over top of it and do fast singles like that and the discipline required to maintain the
same cadence every set every weight like Colton did there's again maybe a hundred guys in the
world who can replicate that a hundred and not more than that right and most people it's just
gonna slow you so down so especially I think at a weight like 95 where you can just do a set of
three take the rest you would probably take if you were doing singles anyway and then do another
set of three is definitely the way to go yeah seven says that's the way everybody should do it he
doesn't know what he's talking about he's probably not even gonna use a barbell for the workout I
think he's probably gonna use a slam ball and he's just gonna do ball slams and burpees or something
like that for 16 minutes the whole time yeah he's not gonna freeze you guys piling on so well he's
out at a jujitsu competition this weekend so he's gonna roll he's gonna roll for 26.3 for 16 minutes
even it rolls it's gonna make a post like rich it'd be like hey actually I'm gonna do this one
instead 10 rounds 10 assault by calories 10 ball slams oh crap she's gonna predict how

touching the barbell because you're not allowed to touch it when you go down in a thruster
or I never be but you are you can't kick it on the jump over the bar yeah you can't once your
chest touches and you're and you're into your jump over part that's when you can't touch it but
once you've landed on the other side you can move it around yeah so like when I was doing my last
set I was just going because you were sorry if I had done that I would have ran out of time
gotcha okay he's looking at Gus this is thruster right there he is hauling ass through those huh
Gus has a crazy engine he does have a good engine he needs a better front rack yeah a little wider

that much time it was insane you know the seconds out of thrusters now so there was a comment
earlier about the top score on the leaderboard it's definitely fake the guys other scores are like
26,000 it's a tie break time yeah yeah his tie break time oh all he breaks the thrusters
I'm good as early press bar leaving his shirt before he even stands up out of the squat
he's just doing that because he's feeling the pressure being behind Ali a little bit
no I just think he needs to work on his thruster technique yeah and front rack if you have a
better front rack it's easier to do that the correct way easier to to perform proper timing yeah
extend that let me extend the hips and then all right let's scoop back so I can freaking lean
back I'm freaking roasted sore kill Taylor tomorrow at 10.45 am eastern time is that
impressive only Taylor or people calling in people can call in as well you don't think it should

pushing the thrusters to like max capacity and doing and thinking oh singles on the
cleans will let me hurt really bad on the thrusters every time I think from the beginning you need to
make sure the thrusters are very under control or else it turns into like you know walking around
when you don't really need to yeah people could could have just gotten a little false sense
of security watching Colton I mean if they don't really know how fit he is yeah everybody else
should just be smooth on their thrusters Colton then maybe only a couple other people can attack
them yeah watching Colton and it's like oh if I do singles then I'll be able to do all thrusters
I'm broken nice yeah that's not what it means and then so earlier Bryson you were asking Dave I
don't think he understood your question like will more people finish will more men finish this
work out versus 26.1 after seeing Colton's time I feel like it's more do you think it's more
do I think more people finish this in point one yeah like more than 52 yeah yeah I thought that
even when it came out I think definitely more people finished this in the first workout for sure
and the women's with the women's weights like definitely more than 100 we've already had people
finish it while it pulls us that's going to be a lot more a lot more of a finish or total
oh yeah yeah yeah she just broke the 115 thrusters yeah well what was her sets I didn't catch it was
like five seven and five or something yeah it was yeah right around the middle seven and five
she just finished her third round at the eight minute mark so maybe she won't maybe she
this is gonna be tough yeah this is where it really started to suck for me
how'd you do Susa I got eight burpees into the fourth round after the power cleans
nice yeah I started taking big breaks on the that 115 thruster just kind of tune me up yesterday
ended up doing a it was probably not the best idea but I did a running farmer carry workout that had
about 800 meters worth of farmer carry with the 70 pound kettlebells in it my back was just a little
tight when I was warming up I was doing the thrusters and I was like oh boy I already feel it you know
when you're like trying not to let it get in your head and then of course right when I started
doing the thrusters I was like okay and now I'm just using this as an excuse to stop yeah
they didn't like my back didn't hurt that bad but like my breathing did so you know
like uh let's go through in the hand release burpees basically
pausing on the floor yeah this is where it just starts to sick
I always been pretty good about those singles on the power cleans like you guys were talking
about earlier it takes a lot of discipline to kind of stay over that bar and drop and pick it up
and drop and pick it up and she's been moving pretty smooth through them a ton especially in a
workout like this there's a lot of workouts where like a good strategy of singles and it's not
that hard to stay disciplined I think this is probably one of the hardest workouts if you're
gonna do singles the whole time to stay disciplined yeah yeah yeah I went with all singles um
basically after watching you guys go I like peed my pants and was worried about this workout so
I went all singles on the cleans and then held 75 on my thrusters until the second set of 115
I did all 12 and then sprinted some burpees and did a couple cleans at 135 and that but I've
practiced like dropping the bar not having to move my feet with deadstop plates so there's no
footwork so that's like if people are considering doing that after like watching Colton or just
think that's their strategy like to Taylor's point it's really hard not just from like like
yes mentally you're gonna hurt and have to force yourself to pick up the bar but literally the
plates bouncing so if you don't have some good dense plates you should probably on your first bar
just do some like sets of three like you guys were saying but if you have practiced that and you're
really good at settling deadstop plates and gripping and going then yeah yeah or as a female
if your gym has the rubber 15s and 10s you might not even have a choice you might you might only
be allowed to do touch and go and not drop the bar yeah that's where our gyms at is the girls pretty
much all have to they just have to hold on to the bar and and that's it interesting question from
Janine here do you guys think Matt Frazier would be Colton at 26.3 prime Matt Frazier yes you think
that Frazier didn't Colton beat prime Matt Frazier at what was that friend working out friendly
friend Matt and Colton were racing Matt would have lost oh no no I think Matt would win yeah yeah
