Colts Sign Davis-Gaither for Depth, Linebacker Competition

With the NFL today, March 19th, the Indianapolis Colts made some key roster moves this week,

signing wide receiver Nick Westbrook Akine and linebacker Akim Davis-Gaether while resigning

cornerback Cameron Mitchell.

These additions come as the team builds depth, heading into training camp, with Davis-Gaether

standing out due to his prior ties to the Colts' new defensive coordinator, Lu and Arumo.

Davis-Gaether played under Arumo in Cincinnati with the Bengals, where he built a strong trust

in the coach's defensive scheme and play-calling, making the move to Indianapolis an easy choice.

He also gained valuable starting experience last year with the Arizona Cardinals, playing

most of the season, and learning the weekly grind from A.

Starter's perspective, including prep for games and practices.

Now in Indy, Davis-Gaether sees an open competition in the linebacker room, and he's eager to fight

for a starting spot, and get on the field right.
