Comedian Eugene Mirman Rescued from Burning Car

On April 1st, comedian Eugene Merman, the voice behind Gene Belcher on Bob's Burgers since 2011, got into a serious crash Tuesday in Bedford, New Hampshire.

He was driving a 2026 Lucid gravity that slammed into the Bedford toll plaza on the Fee Everett Turnpike around 11.55 am.

The car burst into flames, trapping him inside, and witnesses dial 911 right away.

State troopers rushed to the scene, but it was a trooper from Governor Kelly Iote's security detail, who stepped up big time.

That officer pulled Merman through a window of the burning vehicle, saving his life.

The 51-year-old, whose birth name is Yvgini, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital.

Both took calling the rescue straight up heroic.

Colonel Mark B. Hall from State Police praised the unnamed trooper for jumping into danger without a second thought.

Merman's been a staple on the show as Bob and Linda's wild son, alongside siblings Tina and Louise, and he's popped up everywhere from flight of the concords to Archer.

The crash is still under investigation with no charges filed yet.

Merman keeps grinding too, dropping his comedy album, Here Comes the Wimsy, back in February, plus stand-up specials, and that Bob's Burgers movie in 2022.
