Commanders Lock in Safety Jeremy Reaves

The Washington commanders keep building their roster in free agency.

They signed safety Jeremy Reeves to a contract extension on Thursday.

This deal locks him in through the 2027 season.

Reeves entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019.

He started with the Philadelphia Eagles but got cut quickly.

The commanders picked him up right after and he has stayed with him for all seven of

his NFL seasons.

Reeves is not a full time starter but has started 19 games total, including eight last year.

He is a key leader in the secondary helping new players settle in.

Fans and teammates love his work ethic and locker room presence.

Last season he posted 91 tackles with 57 solo stops, plus one sack, one interception,

and seven passes broken up.

He shines on special teams too, earning first team all pro and pro bowl honors in 2022,

after making the active roster for the first time.

The team values his loyalty through tough times like ownership changes.

They are not done adding players and plan to keep working until roster cuts in August.
