A frequently cited concern for the 2026 Baltimore Reavans. Joining me to talk about that is Jacob Abouspitan. Did I pronounce your name correctly, Jacob? I always want to ask. Yeah, I think it's as good as he can get. How are you doing? Good, good. I think we talked a little tired, but didn't a lot of overtime at work, but I'm glad to be here. Appreciate you and I know we've had some good discussions about the offense

2:07and the offensive line, a fair amount over the past six months or so, but you're on Reddit and you've a guy I've been very happy to have on the show a couple times. So let's talk about your concerns about the offensive line. I'll let you frame this up how you'd like to start it off. Yeah, so I mean, I definitely don't, it is a concern. I don't want to come off as overly concerned because I do believe in leadford. I've seen a ton of great things just from a schematic point that I love compared to last year, even just in the preseason, but I definitely think kind of seeing how some of Vegas snaps, some of the back-ups played and then not getting a chance to see Stanley and Roger play is a big concern, especially I understand with like Stanley's health, then kind of holding off a little bit with him as well. But I think the biggest question mark is Vega, how he's going to really pan out in the short term, not worried about the long term as much and then how that's going to, and then immediate affect the entire left side of the line if he needs to be supported by whoever does end up definitively starting at center.

3:09Okay, all right, fair enough. What makes sense, Fist? Before the show, we wrote down where we think the percentile ranking would be for our various starters as we see them now, and for the backups if they were forced into action, I think there's the primary positions are involved here, and I'm going to assume for purposes of the backups, that Vincent will play either left tackle or right tackle, so that's kind of what we've seen here so far in the last few weeks of camp, and then the last preseason game when he switched over to start it right side. And then I guess before that, before we even get into this, we have to talk about who do you think is starting center autoppe? Yeah, I know you've been pushing a lot for Gwen based on your observations. I've only got to see some all 22 and clips here and there, and he's always looks all in comparison. I don't think, I actually, it's funny to say, I think the center is going to be a surprise, better position this year than I think people are expecting, as a whole over the line,

4:10just because of Simpson being somewhat of a known quantity, and again, Vega needing some time to get on his feet. I think center is actually going to be a surprise for a lot of folks, but I'm going to agree with a lot of your assessment that Gwen is probably going to run away with the start. Mentor does say he's thinking about, you know, still even in the upcoming weeks in practice switching them out, so we'll see, but I agree with Gwen. So order of entry tells you an awful lot, so does playing time in the preseason. Players who don't play are typically the guys that they're trying to protect and what not. They really bubble Rept to Gwen in this last game. They could have said, hey, we want to see more from him, but they only played him two series and I think about 15 snaps in this last game, and they played POSIC 31. That's a pretty clear indication they think that he POSIC needs more life fire and he's reps to get, you know, to just see some live reps. I think the truth of the matter is that POSIC is probably still the same player he was in his own mind in terms of how he's moving around the field. Certainly understands the footwork, understands what he needs to do assignment-wise,

5:12think of it with the scheme, he'll pick up a lead for what he's asking of him very quickly, but he just does not have the leg strength in particular right now to convert that into meaningful results, and he's also a little older. So he doesn't have the foot speed he once did to get done even when his legs are back. So I think POSIC is rightfully the guy they go to this the back up to start the season. I was going to just very briefly say on that is just I do as far as the the number of snaps. Again, I do agree with the assessment that you had, but I also do wonder a little bit if they're trying to work POSIC out a little bit due to his injury just to make sure that they're ramping him up for the season. So even though I don't think it's likely, there is that small chance that they're just trying to get him more snaps to get him to playing a building he could potentially still be the starter. I just don't think it's likely. Okay. I mean, I can't rule it out, of course. I just I think, I'll break it down based on what I'm seeing. It's Gwen. The other thing I'd say is that Gwen has a

6:15chance if he were to deliver the kind of season you're talking about that there'd be real strength at center because he played even at 80% of the level he did in that first preseason gaming as the Eagles. I don't think he's ever challenged the whole season. I think he would he would hold the job and we'd be happy to have POSIC as a backup. We might even see POSIC at guard, but we wouldn't we wouldn't see POSIC at center the whole year. All right, let's go across the line and talk about the players one by one and maybe give our perspective for Sentai ranking for these players as you as you go from left to right. You go ahead and start us off here and I'll I'll respond in each case I think. I still have stand, San Lee is like the 40th. I think he's slightly above average still. I mentioned it off camera. I'm just kind of concerned. Sorry, go ahead. Let's make sure what you mean by that. So the 40th percent, how many he's below average? I haven't met the 50 of percent of it. You're really saying he's the 60th percent of it. Yeah, let me flip it then. So I think he's in the

7:1560th percentile. I'm thinking that he said he's a little bit above average, but as we said off camera, I'm just more concerned of him being left alone on an island against any moderately good pass rusher. So if he's getting support, I think he's going to have a solid season still. Simpson's very aggressive help blocker inside and outside a reasonably good processor in terms of speed time. I think going from the inside to outside as you would at the guard position if there's a bubble there. I hope he can really help on that. You want it. We've already seen one absolutely bodacious help block in the preseason from. So okay, so a 60 you've got a 60 and I've got a 50 understanding. Let's go to go to John Simpson for your second. I mean, I'm putting him conservatively at a 30. I mean, maybe a little bit higher, but he just I think mentally he's able to like you said process. I think the biggest thing if you want to give him a bump is his health. He's

8:16able to stay healthy. He just doesn't have the repertoire to really make an impact the way that you'd like a guard to do. So I would say talent wise, there's probably a 60, 70% of the league that's better, but when you do intangibles, he might move up a little bit. Okay, I've got him at the 35th percent. Also sounds like we're similar on that one. Shouldn't be asked to do a lot of pulling this year. The Ravens will do I believe less of that. They've hardly pulled it all during the preseason a few times on past plays, but really not much on run plays at all. They're doing a little more zone. So we'll see how that plays out. If it works that way during the season or if they end up doing more of it as we go. Move on to Gwynn then at center. We're in agreement that he's the starter. We're going to talk about first year. So I want to be optimistic and put him somewhere between 50th and 55. So just because what Ledford was able to do previously in Atlanta with

9:20the interior line, I'm going to go ahead and be a little hopeful with him. Okay, he will never be challenged the entire year if he performs at that level. That would be extremely, it would be a mana from heaven where that happened. I haven't met the 40th percentile. I didn't really know if that was too aggressive. He's a fourth year player who's never played. He's a tremendous record in the preseason of enviable record really playing well there. And I am hopeful. I am hopeful that Ledford really understood how Gwynn would fit into his system when he brought him along. I'll talk to you on it. No, it right, Card? So this one was a little more difficult because I definitely, it's a rookie you're seeing kind of more of a potential idea. I mean, I could see him reaching 55, 55th, but I unfortunately don't think if he does get to there, it's not going to be until the back half of the season. And that's if he gets there. I was just expecting a little bit

10:25more out of him in the preseason based on who he was playing as far as like talent level. And who said maybe it ramps up much quicker. I just he wasn't where I was expecting him to be at this point already. So that does give me pause, but I mean, we're talking if I'm going back to entangibles. I mean, he's got the aggressiveness. He's got the size. He's got the speed. He has the footwork. I was just surprised that a lot of the mishaps that he had that were just kind of like misses, which was really surprising, but that could be his over aggressiveness. So I want to say he's going to end up near 55, but I'm really hesitant to put him above league average right now. Okay, 55 is actually the exact number I had on him. So we're very close on most of these players so far. I am with you in terms of I think there's a if he were to finish by the way at the 55th percentile is a rookie. That's probably a little bit better than Tyler Lindobom did as a rookie. So I think there's a very consistent pattern of development we've seen out of Raven's

11:29offensive linemen in particular, with coach 12 over the years that they increase in play quality over four years. And it just takes time. And I think you want to come in and there will be some rookie problems. There may be some mistakes. You know, in the very first game, one of the things that happened is he had a help block on the very first series where he gave the guy a little love tap. He went over and he basically just hit him a little bit. And it was clear from what happened on the second series that he must have gone over the sideline and ledford or one of his subs went to him and said, you know, you can't do that again. I don't want to ever see you hit that guy that light again. Probably ledford himself given the importance of you wanting. And the second time around, you have the same kind of guard bubble on that side. He drove the guy into the ground much more, you know, obviously what we're looking for. We've seen some even we've gone too far in terms of the finishes during the preseason with ledford postic, had a really cheap shot. And we also saw the cheat the the penalty on on Bullock in

12:33this last game where he he was second man diving in after licked an hand on a on a help block. So but I like you on it. And I think that 55 for this year is a reasonable estimate. You got to move aside. So I mean, I'm high on Roger. I think he's quietly been one of the best second year players last year. And I just think overall, I mean, I'm I'll be aggressive and say that, you know, he's in the 70 70 it to maybe is maybe lower at like 65, but I like him a lot. I think he brings a lot to the table that goes unnoticed. It would probably be reasonable for me to project forward a little bit. I think I think the 55 is where I would put him. I think he's a little bit better than Stanley at this point relative to his positional peers. I kind of maybe in looking at these numbers, I think he'd be the one guy that I maybe thought, well, maybe I went too low on him. And I'd go 55 anyway on Rosengart to start it off, but I like your number better. I hope that's

We got some backups to consider now. So Carson Vincent could be a left tackle or right tackle backup. And I don't think my number would change much because we don't know that much about them still. As a backup, if you were forced into action, where do you think he finishes

16:42in the league relative to his positional peers? Yeah, I mean, these are obviously when you get these backups, it's a lot harder to kind of gauge them when you're talking about against the rest of the league and starters. I would just say that that Vincent from what I saw in pre-season as in past, I really was very high on him. I kind of didn't like as much of this pre-season. What I saw him and Bullock, unfortunately, like I was really pulling for Bullock as well. But from what I saw, I mean, he's probably going to be around where Simpson is. I would still say that he can probably beat out some other backups and ranking if someone else has to be elevated. But I would put him as just above replacement if that best. I don't know where you would grade that, but I'd probably put him in that realm. Okay. I have him at the 25th percentile of his force in action this year. And I think he's another player that I think it could be much better in the future. But you know, just I've all

17:44under kind of thinking of where players like Voorhees and Fahlele ended up last year. It would have been slightly lower than that. Maybe you're on the 20th percentile. So I think that the 25th might be a reasonable spot for him. But I would understand any number people wanted to give between about 20 and 40. I wouldn't bad in high-add. I think you could be in the right range. How about Ethan Posek now? I think that's a more complex one, but you tell me. It is because I think talking about, again, his ability is being more of a veteran than it would be his just natural ability now. It's going to be heavily dependent on what led for it's doing scheme-wise. It's going to make a massive change in what he's able to do. I mean, what I saw, again, technically, he was very strong technically. So he has the potential to be in that 50 range. If he fits into what led for his doing and the rest of the lines jelling well, if he's asked to do more stuff individually, I think that's going to lower him down to around like 40 also.

18:49Or excuse me, 60 also. No, backwards. 40. 40. Yes. So anyway, he's going to, I think he's going to struggle if he's left to do those more athletic things. But if led for it's doing a uniform scheme where the line really is working in unison, I think he has a lot more value in that way. Okay. I'll say, I think that Posek's contribution, I think, by the way, most of what the Revens do, I trust to be more of a team-oriented approach. It kind of has to be if they run more zone. Is it led for it really has to get this line working together to do things well? I think things like health blocks and fall that are a similar category from a past block in standpoint. I don't think that's the real issue with Posek. I think the real issue is his health. And he's got, he's older and he's got health issues coming into this year based on the injuries coming back from. If he had to replace somebody right now, I'd say 35% tile. Based on what I've seen the preseason, he just hasn't looked that good. If he were to have to

19:53replace somebody in the second half of the season, I think he could be 50% tile. I think you could give the Revens basically exactly what they would hope for. And since we've got Gwen somewhere between 40 and 55 between the two of us, I think there's a pretty good chance that Posek, if he gets a chance, it'll be some dip in Gwen's play that would cause it as opposed to they suddenly see that they think Posek could return to his 2023 form, let's say. I don't really see that as a possibility given how far he's been removed from it. And the decline that he's already frankly experienced before the injury. Yeah, just from what I see with the two of them, I just kind of see Gwen in Posek as just two types of different centers. So I definitely think Gwen has that edge and I would put him slightly higher, which let's just say that's that 55 versus 50. I just, I like what I saw from Posek. I just, I'm just not sure. Yeah, it depends on what we end up actually seeing from

20:53Doyle and Ledford scheme wise and what they do more often. Okay. All right, so we're going along here. We got two more to go. Emory Jones, probably the backup at Wright Guard, possibly the get back up at Wright Tackle, though I think Vincent right now looks like the guy there. So at Wright Guard, and I, by the way, if you think he'd be the backup and left guard, say so now, and we could, we might have another discussion on our hands, but at Wright Guard, what do you think about him, rejoice as a backup? I think, I mean, I think he will be slot into Wright Guard, but we're going to look at him more as a swing tackle or a swing player overall. I've been really disappointed, Jones. I think, I think he's also right around where Vincent is at 25. I just haven't liked the upside that I was expecting from him last year after he got healthy. Again, I might be a little hard on him in the sense that like, okay, I saw a good technique last year. You're a rookie. You're coming off an injury. Some of the things

21:53that were happening, I understand, but it's just there was such a lack of aggressiveness during the post, the preseason this year, and that went along with some of the things he was still having issues with last year. So I just unfortunately, hoping he surprises me, but I just see him barely as a solid backup right now, and he's really toeing that line. Okay. All right, you're definitely the most negative about him as anybody so far in terms of what you've got. You may have another one coming up, but Jones, I think, first of all, is going to be a one-for-one replacement, and it would be for you on a at-rate guard. I don't see him getting the opportunity at left guard. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but when I split his preseason play, he's had, okay, I want to get this right here, 14 snaps at left guard, and he scored negative three points on those snaps. That's minus 0.21, not 0.21, that one kind of thing. It's minus 21. That's so bad I can't even say. It's all based on

22:57one absolutely awful series that he had against the Eagles, the first drive, I believe, in that game, where Huntly was running for his life. He probably remember. He was sacked once, gave up a quarterback hit, and gave up another, I think it was two-thirds of a quarterback hit on another play. It might have been three straight plays that Huntly got knocked to the ground. But in any case, since he's moved to right guard exclusively, that game he played much better at right guard, and the next two games, he's played at a solid C-level at right guard. And his overalls about a B minus at right guard, as I look at it. So I'm going to say if he comes in at right guard, I'm going to hope he can maintain that level. He won't go all the way to that level. But me, a 45 at right guard, if he has to replace you, I can't imagine that would happen for anything but an injury, and we certainly don't want that. But I actually think that the back up they have there is pretty good. I'm quite fearful of what might happen if they tried to put him in at left guard. We saw the one giving us the Eagles, and the Eagles backups are good, but I don't think they're any better than the typical AFC

24:04North Post. Not as good as the typical AFC North Post that he'd face at left guard. To be fair to him, though, and this kind of, this plays are both them. It may have helped him on the right side and may have hurt him on the left side. You really have to consider composition. Who he's playing next to, one week can change a lot for how our play performs because you really are jelling with your teammates. Everyone always thinks right guard, left guard's kind of the same thing. They really are different worlds of different spots on the line. So it could be that, like there's so many moving parts during preseason, and I haven't even with me, I haven't seen enough footage of him during the irregular season to fairly say, I'm just going off of a hunch. I haven't liked what I've seen overall, but I also have seen some technical side of him that maybe he would surprise me. All right. You mentioned the aggressiveness being something that concern you so far. He had probably a block that he's going to want to put on whatever

25:09recording he keeps. And by the way, I really encourage NFL players and for linemen in particular, it can be hard to go back and find those individual blocks if you try to do so at the end of your career. You have a recording made now. And seriously, you're going to want it at some future date. I'm telling you, don't talk about all the games are out there. It will be a problem at a later day if you try to find it. But the block he had was the screen pass that went right for about 24 yards or something. And he had a pancake in the in the back field, which is unusual, but he just threw the guy to the ground. Then he went out to make his screen block. He pan-cake the guy in level two, number 59, Madrano coming over. And Madrano was also flagged for a low block on the point. It was just the extra insult to injuries. Literally one of the great three-for-one experiences he's ever going to have on an individual block. So, Emory, if you're out there, make sure that you get that recorded quickly. So you get it recorded. You don't lose it. So when you want to show your grandkids something, you have it. All right. We ready to move out of four. He's then.

26:15Who's the Knight of Fits of Lyman? Yeah. I mean, this is difficult. I think he was the worst Lyman last year. But I also harped so much on coaching. So I want to go ahead and do the same thing. I mean, I can't see him being that great of even like a backup right now. But it is a whole new world with Ledford. I think he's doing much better than Warop. And I do think Vore he has more intangibles than Jones does. As far as I do know, he's narrow. We talked about he's a little bit narrow and he would have to overcome that. But size like size-wise and I think his mobility is actually pretty good. So I'm still going to put him pretty low. I mean, we're still in that same, I think 20, 25 at conservative, maybe 30 at best. But it's going to just depend on Ledford. I have to see these guys more to really say going from the guys who got to play for us last year,

27:17especially the backups versus this year. I just have to see them in Ledford system more because I had so much more faith in Vore he's in Daniel when when Joe was here because we saw consistent growth. It wasn't something that was miles better from one year to the next, but it was growth. And then we just kind of saw a cliff last year. So I have to see Warop, Ledford, and I do have high hopes for everyone just of that simple fact of getting a new coach in the room. Yeah, I think that's good. And I agree with it generally speaking. Vore he's it was a really tight call for me whether Bullock or Vore he's was really the right guy for the ninth spot. And Bullock didn't have a fantastic preseason by any stretch, but he could have been a guy who would come in and give you guard center versatility, which I think the Revens could potentially need this year. So that would have been a, you know, at least one additional element

28:17you had gotten. Vore he's at left guard. I'm going to put him at a 20. I think is possible with additional runway that, you know, he surprises on the upside. If he really surprised on the upside, I'd say between 35 and 50 is what you could get. I think probably 35 and 45. He's going to be a below average guard, I would say in general, but he could be significantly better than he was at least last year. But 20 is where I would peg him at least to start the season. He's only, you know, only a backup. And when you look at this list and what you've got, the thing that really strikes me is neither of us really believe the Revens have a bunch of above average linemen. You've got, you do have Stanley the 60 and Rosengart the 65, which is 10 points higher than me on either of these and Gwyn at a 50 or 55. I guess you're a little more positive. In terms of what's going on. But I would say this is, this is a pretty darn average across the board line. So I'd ask one more question is, is that is having an average across the board line more difficult to fix than having two

29:20great players and two terrible players and one average player? I would always pick if everyone can pull their weight across the line, I would always pick that because when you don't have a week link per se, that's the hope. You don't have a week link. It's great if you have strength at any spot that you can just absolutely ram, you know, ram the ball down a certain way. But we're not really, in my opinion, we don't really live in that kind of league for the most part anymore. It's very rare that you see teams just really honing on one spot on the line and hammer. They like to spread the ball a little bit more. Although we are seeing a little bit more focused on the run, it feels like. But yes, I like having, I'd have a average team over two good starters, for sure, unless those two starters are both your tackles because at that point, that's why it seems like we're in an okay position to me, even though these are concerns is because you can play around with the interior line schematically wise to help each other. Can't really do that as much on the tackles without

30:25taking something away. Yeah, I agree with that. That makes a lot of sense. Personally, I take the two stars, one average and two low performers because I think it's easier to replace a low performer out there in the market, whether you're going to the draft to do it or whether you're going to do it via free agency. Either way, it's a little bit easier to do. It can be expensive, but having five average guys in a way, and this is that just you kind of had this for a lot of last year as well. It's just it's not obvious how you do this. You have to flush the whole group, or do you have to replace the guys who are looking bad, looking really bad, or do you have to look at players who are looking concern yourself with whether or not your average players are looking average because they're playing next to bad players. A lot of those things are just they're really harder to do. So I it's easier for me anyway to pick it when you have a mix of stars and non-performers to deal with that. All right, Jacob, always a pleasure to talk and football. If you appreciate

31:29you coming on and talking about the offensive line concern, off overall, let's let's let's we've done a good job with numbers on this episode. Give me a one to 10 scale of what your level of concern is for the offensive line. And how much of that is maybe mitigated by a healthy Lamar Jackson or or just tell me with a healthy Lamar Jackson, what's your level concern? Yeah, I mean, with the health with the health of the Mar Jackson and again throwing in leadford. I'm individually concerned about different spots, but I feel comfortable with the line. I won't say I'm confident in them, but I'm also not overly concerned. So I'm going to be pretty close to the middle round of five. At worst, let's just say Jackson gets hurt. It'll drop to six, but so I guess, let's say four, but yeah, I don't I'm not overly concerned with them. It's just there are a lot of things we don't know yet. Okay, I'm going to put myself at about a six and a half. I think they're having the two weakest positions on the entire team. The two weakest starters playing next to each other at left garden center, which I think is probably still the case after, you know,
