Oh, it's been incredible. It really has been an exception weekend here in
Claniquility once again and you know everything has come
come our way and delighted for Josh and and Andy their tarred
West Park win. Tio has first win in Ireland in
a decade or more I'd say it's fantastic. It all started it on Friday night.
What happened here in the town was one word spectacular.
Yeah that would be one word to describe it. It was a it was a spectacular night
and I suppose that's what we were trying to do. We were trying to put on a
spectacle to show you know and entertain people who
wouldn't necessarily be rally fans. It wouldn't be actively going out on
ditches and stuff like that but we wanted to bring the event to the people
to the general public and the population of Claniquility
and to the people visiting Claniquility this weekend.
And Josh and his core driver Andy Hayes they were the leaders
after those stages and Friday night was incredible that they held on
right through Saturday and right through Sunday. Yeah I know they held on well
in fairness I was talking to Andy on Thursday night
up in the hotel and he was feeling quietly confident. I spoke to Josh in
Galway about his new car and he really seemed to
seem to like it but I think even Josh and Andy would be surprised with
how quickly they they dialed into that car and got it going for them.
I suppose they were helped as well by the fact that they
they know these roads like the back of their hand of course they were
winners in 22 and 23 as well. Yeah I suppose they do have massive
experience and they would have been Josh and his junior days would have
been here as well and Andy would have been here
you know so they do have a massive amount of experience but you know the stage
is this year we're different again from previous years
Steve Davis from the Clark Motor Club who's done an amazing job as Clark
of the course as always tries to change up the the offering that
that we have and that's you know I mean so
the thing is no matter how experienced you are here
it's still it's they're still new stages they're still new sections and you
still have to get your notes right and get your
wrecky done properly. Callum Devine and his co-driver
Anola Sullivan they were the pre-race favorites
they were tired for most of the weekend they did everything in the art field
stage and just fell 9.9 second short. Yeah I think poor Callum there
if Callum Anola they were maybe a day late in the dollar show as they say
if the rally had gone a bit later they might have they might have caught but I
suppose that's the thing about it there's
the 16 stages that's it and that's the time you have to
try and compete and win the rally. Your obviously blessed as well
aid with the rate whether we had over the course of the weekend
and it's all no set fair for the 50th anniversary
in 2027. Yeah I suppose look that's that's been the big thing really in the back of our minds
for the last few months is yes this is the big this is the big rally in 49th
year but we really have the 50th year in in mind as well
I suppose we we might leave it till maybe Monday or Tuesday before we start
planning that one out. Well I suspect finally that you're probably going to
stretch things a little bit if he had a town stage
our part of a town stage and for the 49th heaven knows what you're going to come
up with in 12 months time. Well you know us we're not going to rest on our
laurels here and we're going to always try and do something a bit different
and something a bit exciting to keep the people coming back here
