Cowboys Eyeing Moore Trade for Defense

On May 2nd, the Dallas Cowboys loaded up their defense in the 2026 NFL draft, grabbing

safety Caleb Downes, edge rusher Malachai Lawrence.

And linebacker Jai Sean Baram in their first three picks, plus trading for linebacker D-Winters

from the San Francisco 49ers.

But even with those moves, folks are saying they should still push hard for a trade to

land Premier, slot cornerback Kenny Moore, the second from the Indianapolis Colts.

Their defense was rough last year in 2025, and new coordinator Christian Parker has more

pieces now, but depth and linebacker end, especially cornerback remains a worry.

They signed Kobe Durant in free agency and drafted Devin Moore in round four, but no

true starter for the nickel spot.

Shifting guys like Deyron Bland or Caleb Downes inside could hurt their outside coverage,

and after all those injuries last season, building that.

Secondary depth is key.

Players got faith in Shavon Rebel, but fans and analysts want more proven talent right

now.

Word is more, and the Colts mutually agreed to part ways, per ESPN's Adam Schefter,

and grabbing him be a trade might just cost a 2027.

Sixth round pick, according to Bleacher reports Christopher Knox.

That's cheap for a nine-year vet who's kept quarterbacks under an ADA passer rating

the last two seasons.

Dallas could jump in quick to dodge a bidding war, and lock down that slot.

Shifting Parker the flexibility to really turn this defense around heading into camp.
