Cowboys Sign Vet Bullard, Boosting Defensive Line

On March 28, Dallas Cowboys just beefed up their defensive line, signing 32-year-old veteran

Jonathan Bullard to a one-year deal.

This guy is heading into his 11th NFL season after getting picked in the third round by

the Bears out of Florida back in 2016.

He's bounced around six teams already, bringing solid experience to the mix.

Last year with the Saints, Bullard suited up for 15 games, started six, and racked up

26 tackles along with four tackles for loss, and two, past breakups.

He's the third defensive line addition this offseason for Dallas, joining Knows Tackle

Otito Agbania, an outside linebacker with Sean Garry.

That makes seven new faces on defense from outside the building.

Bullard gets to link back up with his old defensive line coach, Marcus Dixon, who guided

him during a breakout year with the Vikings in 20, 24.

There he started all 17 games, notching 41 tackles, seven for loss, three past breakups,

and a sack, probably his best run yet.

The Cowboys D-line has flipped this offseason under new defensive coordinator Christian Parker.

They shipped out Osa Oda Gizua to the 49ers for a third round pick, and Solomon Thomas

to the Titans in a seventh round swap, clearing space.

For fresh blood, Dixon's approach puts the onus on players to own their spots, drawing

from his own NFL days to stress aggressive, hands on play that sets up those.

Third down hunts.

With Bullard now tied for second and ten year behind Die Prescott, Dallas is stacking

that front for a strong push.
