Cowboys Snag LT Overton, Boost Defensive Line

On April 25, Dallas Cowboys just beefed up their defensive line in the 2026 NFL draft,

snagging LT Overton from Alabama in the 4th. Round. He's locked in for a 4-year deal worth

$5.03 million dollars straight from spot rack numbers. Overton kicked off college ball at

Texas A&M before transferring to Alabama in 2024, where he really locked down that tight front.

Last season alone, he racked up 4 sacks, 42 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and 4 quarterback

hurries over 13 games. Across two years of BAMMA, that's 84 tackles, 9 for loss, 6 sacks total,

solid production after his earlier Aggie days. Coming out of high school in Georgia,

this five-star stud was ranked top 12 nationally, top 4 defensive lineman, and a state beast.

No wonder, teams eyeed him early. Scouts see him as a tweener with power and hip explosion

to disrupt blockers, but a slower get off and lateral speed might push him inside to tackle.

Long-term, kind of like some recent 4th round success stories, Cowboys banking on that upside

to shore things up.
