Cowboys Trade Up for Top Safety Caleb Downs

On April 24, Dallas Cowboys made a bold move Thursday night, trading two fifth-round
picks to Miami to jump up and grab Ohio State Safety Caleb, downs at 11th overall.
He's the top safety in this draft class, fresh off winning the Jim Thorpe Award in 2025
as a two-time All-American, and he helped Ohio.
State's NAG and national championship the year before.
Rivals are already singing his praises.
In scout says straight up they'd rather have him on their squad than face him twice
a year, calling him very, very good.
Jerry Jones didn't miss words, telling reporters they valued downs so high they couldn't let
another team snag him so they paid up to lock it in.
Downs brings family legacy too.
