Cowboys Trade Up for Top Safety Caleb Downs

On April 29th, the Dallas Cowboys went into the 2026 NFL Draft laser, focused on beefing
up their defense, and they kicked it off strong.
By trading up one spot to the 11th pick for Ohio State Safety, Caleb Downs, they swapped
with the Miami Dolphins, jumping from 12th to snack him after he surprisingly slid that
far, making sure no one jumped ahead.
ESPN Draft Guru Matt Miller crowned this the top pick of the entire draft, praising Downs
as an instant playmaker who fits perfectly in new.
